The coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown had a devastating impact on Indian banks which were already struggling with the rising bad loans. The 6-month loan moratorium and the Supreme court's order barring banks from classifying loans as NPAs for one year will lead to a tremendous increase in NPA and the biggest challenge for banks in 2021. The bank's asset, classified as NPA, ceases to generate income to the bank, and banks have to make provision for NPA. Therefore NPA is a double-edged razor, damaging the profit, weakening the capital structure and reducing the bank's rating. NPA poses a big threat to the macro-economic stability of the Indian economy. NPA is not just about recognition; the emphasis should be on resolution and recovery. The government and RBI had taken steps to bring transparency in the banking sector. This paper gave an overview of NPA's strenuous problem in the pre-COVID times faced by the public sector banks and the steps taken by the government to control them. The author used secondary data in the form of existing reports, published articles, literature and data available on the public domain.","PeriodicalId":228193,"journal":{"name":"Adhyayan: A Journal of Management Sciences","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115576542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study also investigates the role of demographic variables like gender, family background, prior work-experience, and prior entrepreneurial exposure in influencing ESE. The study is based on a sample of 244 entrepreneurship graduates and 212 management graduates collected from different institutes in Western India, and their ESE was measured through a five-point Likert scale self-administered questionnaire based on a four-phase venture creation model. ESE of entrepreneurship graduates was higher than management graduates but not significantly different. The significant influence of gender, family background, and work experience was observed on ESE of the respondents though prior entrepreneurial exposure did not significantly alter the participants' self-efficacy.","PeriodicalId":228193,"journal":{"name":"Adhyayan: A Journal of Management Sciences","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125400644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the past three decades, India's banking industry has several outstanding achievements to its credit. The Banks are the most participants of the economic system in India. The Banking sector renders so many facilities and opportunities to their customers. In the Indian Banking scenario, a large expansion is taking place particularly in the private sector banks. Expansion is taking place in multiple moves; one is physical expansion; distribution, increased number of branches, automated teller machine (ATM), and network. But importantly, there is another expansion which is taking place is that the product in the service range of the private sector banks is becoming bigger, more complex and more relevant to the dynamic economy in which we are today. This study mainly focuses on the employees' behavioral competencies and its contributions to the bank's growth. Even human beings' identity is existing in the form of some information like SIM card, ATM /debit card, PAN number, etc. These transformations are the result of the technological advancement of the Country through Information technology revolutions. Administration, the implementing machinery of government, is now also well equipped with this electronic development in e-governance, which is the outcome of the IT boom in India. Technological advancement of various nations of rest of world is propelling our governance system towards – e-government, e-administration. However, it is excellent and effective to maintain effectiveness, easiness, and transparency in the administration's day-to-day functioning up to some extent. But unfortunately, it is assumed that e-governance is the solution to all problems related to administrative functions which are not true in the present environment. The government and media are propagating it as the key to all success, but it is quite different from above. This form of governance is also facing various such challenges, which might create problems if not dealt with within time. Simply deciding to implement new technology because it makes our life easier may not be the best choice. My life may be easier but how does this affect my neighbors or the environment or even my grandchildren's lives. We have both an ethical and moral responsibility to ourselves, society, and the environment. When we are faced with technical decisions we need to learn all we can about the issue, analyze the issue from both a technical and ethical viewpoint, and then choose a course of action that best satisfies both even if that means not using the available technology. We must always remember that our choices will create change and we need to consider that possibility in all we do. Ethics and technology are becoming different aspects of the same function. One cannot consider one without considering the effects of the other. This paper focuses on the limitations of e-governance in the context of ethics in India. The paper aims to identify ethical challenges before the e-governance which might be disturbing for the intention and motive of e-governance and provide some solutions in form of suggestions for developing technology(e-governance) for human welfare in an ethical context.","PeriodicalId":228193,"journal":{"name":"Adhyayan: A Journal of Management Sciences","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131006781","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study also tried to explore gender differences for these psychological variables. Another very important objective was to find out differences in the achievement motivation, and self-efficacy among students enrolled in professional courses,and those enrolled for nonprofessional courses. The attempt has also been made to understand differences among students who are living in nuclear families and the ones coming from joint families for these psychological variables. Data was collected from 400 students, from different colleges of Lucknow. For assessing self-efficacy, General Self-efficacy Scale by Ralf Schwarzer and Matthias Jerusalemwas used and for Achievement Motivation, Achievement motivation Scale by Dr. Asha Mohan and Prof. Pratibha Deo was used. Results indicate that there exists a weak, yet positive relationship between studentsself-efficacy and their achievement motivation level. Further the results revealedthat the students from non-professional courses had higher self-efficacy. However no difference was found in the achievement motivation of the students from professional and non professional courses.As for the family structure, no difference was found between in the self-efficacy and achievement motivation scores of the student from nuclear families and joint families.","PeriodicalId":228193,"journal":{"name":"Adhyayan: A Journal of Management Sciences","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114265014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impact is so big that the functioning of households, business organizations, religious and spiritual bodies, educational institutions, etc. is witnessing a sea change. Even our lifestyles have altered to a great extent. All this is actually attributed to what our minds think! The external environmental message is clear, shape up or ship out, no one wants to die nor wishes to see their near and dear ones falling to the same. It is our mind that has decides about the changes we need to bring in our activities in order to 'survive'. And hence, the mind knocks the 'Innovation' door quite often to find if there exists a solution for current and future problems. The same has been the case in our learning mechanisms, obviously both the formal and informal ones, during this period of 'lockdown'. Let us analyse this through a real-time observational study involving how our education system has changed and the impending pros and cons of the same.","PeriodicalId":228193,"journal":{"name":"Adhyayan: A Journal of Management Sciences","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128817908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Now a day, crypto-micropayments are playing major roles as world-shattering decentralized, trustless payment systems nevertheless used by many individual entities, as well as, business houses for the benefit of their own concerns. Logically, crypto-micropayments provide a digital alternative to government-issued fiat currencies, and thus, can be used in online marketplaces to buy everything from a needle to flight tickets. Although with the growing number of opponents, cryptocurrencies show fearless traversal over the internet against its challengers who are also gaining grip from such virtual currencies whose presence in this era foretell a matter of great distrust and concurrently all hastening to become the main teller for the upcoming future cashless world. Since, digital currencies are still in a state of flux, this paper tries to target the squashy curves associated with cryptocurrencies, as well as, its frailty in association with societal perspectives due to its anonymity and cross-border features. This paper also focuses on the need for radical overhauling of existing payment-related regulatory framework in India with special reference to crypto-micropayments.","PeriodicalId":228193,"journal":{"name":"Adhyayan: A Journal of Management Sciences","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125168866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
