The use and distribution of IAPS and their management were recorded through the application of checklists and semi-structured questionnaires Present research shows the presence of 10 invasive alien plant species from the study area. The main invasive species include Ageratina adenophora, Ageratum conyzoides, Ageratum houstonianum, Bidens pilosa, Chromolaena adorata, Parthenium hysterophorus, Mimosa pudica, Oxalis latifolia, Senna tora, and Xanthium strumarium. Bidens pilosa, one of these IAPS, is the species that is most common in agricultural areas, whereas Ageratina adenophora is the species that is most common in grasslands and forest borders. Significant IAPS in agricultural lands include Ageratum conyzoides, Ageratum houstonianum, and Oxalis latifolia, which have an immediate impact on the vegetation of the rural municipality of Chhatrakot. It was discovered that Ageratina adenophora was introduced around 20–25 years ago when road tracts were opened, despite the fact that the past of many IAPS was unknown. Ploughing, picking, burning, and composting are some common practices used to manage these IAPS in Chhatrakot rural municipality.","PeriodicalId":228018,"journal":{"name":"Butwal Campus Journal","volume":"21 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114042902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study adopts narrative inquiry as research method to explore the attitudes of participants through their lived narratives. For this purpose, two secondary-level English language teachers and two students have been selected as the participants who were involved in shadow education for the study from two community secondary schools in the Rupandehi district. The study uses unstructured interviews for collecting the required data. The study revealed that teachers and students have both positive and negative attitudes towards shadow education in English language teaching and learning. Tuition and coaching supported students to improve their self-confidence and language proficiency in English and teachers to be financially strong. Similarly, poor classroom teaching, attending fewer classes and giving less attention to the students during the regular teaching hours are the negative consequences of shadow education. Thus, the study can contribute to the discourse of shadow education to get insightful ideas and add new knowledge in reforming the existing educational policy in school education minimizing negative effects of it in Nepal.","PeriodicalId":228018,"journal":{"name":"Butwal Campus Journal","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129574490","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rana","doi":"10.3126/bcj.v5i1.50179","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3126/bcj.v5i1.50179","url":null,"abstract":"This study scrutinizes the stock returns volatility pattern in Nepal during the COVID-19 period from March 3, 2020 to February 27, 2022. By examining GARCH family models with Generalized Error Distribution specification, the results of symmetric GARCH models show that there is persistent volatility in daily stock returns in Nepal over the study period. The observed persistent volatility in daily stock returns indicate that the current shocks in daily stock returns exist in forecasting variance for longer period in future. The results of asymmetric TGARCH (1, 1) model show that there is the leverage effects on the volatility of daily stock returns in Nepal during the study period. The observed leverage effects implies that uncomplimentary news have larger effects on the volatility than the complimentary news of the same intensity. Finally, results establish the GARCH (1, 1) model as the best fitted symmetric model to explain the volatility persistence and the TGARCH (1,1) model as the best fitted asymmetric models to predict the leverage effects on the time varying conditional volatility of daily stock in Nepal. The main implication of findings from this study is that it offers an additional insight to form sound investment strategy to address risk structure of Nepali stock market.","PeriodicalId":228018,"journal":{"name":"Butwal Campus Journal","volume":"15 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123779380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, various univariate and multivariate regression models have been used to examine the impact of various explanatory variables on shareholders’ profitability. Return on equity has been used as dependent variable to measure the profitability and bank loans, deposits, capital ratio, credit risk and assets size have been used as explanatory variables. Results of this paper indicate bank loan, deposits and equity capital have positive relationship with shareholders’ profitability. Moreover, findings of the study report inverse effect of credit risk and assets size on shareholders’ profitability. Based on the results, this study concludes that equity capital and credit risk of banks have significant impact on shareholders’ profitability of commercial banks in Nepal. Policy makers can apply findings of this study to formulate and implement effective bank policies to use more equity capital and control credit risk of banks for maximization of shareholders’ profitability.","PeriodicalId":228018,"journal":{"name":"Butwal Campus Journal","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121108297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many researchers connected the fuzzy concept in different forms of metric spaces. The results about the point sets have discussed, mainly topological properties of sets, connecting with the fuzzy metric space. The propose of this paper is to study the point set topology in fuzzy metric space, especially by introducing the concept of open and closed balls and discuss some of the common properties. Moreover, we introduce the concept of compactness and pre-compactness in fuzzy metric space.","PeriodicalId":228018,"journal":{"name":"Butwal Campus Journal","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128521513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prolonging situation calls for appropriate remedial considerations. This paper attempts to predict the revisit intention and word-of-mouth using customer satisfaction. The data from 399 respondents were collected using mail survey immediately after the hit of COVID-19. Firstly, the result from linear regression of customer satisfaction on their revisit intention suggests that the customer satisfaction is the crux of customer retention in restaurant business. Secondly, the logistic regression of customer satisfaction on word-of-mouth reveals that word-of-mouth is likely to take place when the customers are dissatisfied with the restaurant services. Contrary to this, word-of-mouth communication is less likely to happen when the customers are happy with the restaurant services.","PeriodicalId":228018,"journal":{"name":"Butwal Campus Journal","volume":"31 22","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131539881","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The credit risk is measured by the ratio of total loan to total deposit (TL/TD), cash reserve ratio (CRR), the ratio of nonperforming loan to total loan (NPL/TL), and the ratio of loan loss provision to total loan (LLP/TL), and profitability is measured by return on assets (ROA). The annual data of 18 commercial banks from 2013/14 to 2018/19 have been used for the analysis. Using the Fixed Effect model, this paper finds the significant influence of credit risk on profitability of Nepalese commercial banks. Finally, it is observed that TL/TD has significant positive and NPL/TL and LLP/TL has significant negative impact on profitability of Nepalese commercial banks. Therefore, the bank management should increase the ratio of total loan to total deposit and should decrease the ratio of nonperforming loan to total loan and loan loss provision to total loan to increase the profitability of Nepalese commercial banks.","PeriodicalId":228018,"journal":{"name":"Butwal Campus Journal","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124229688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
