This condition occured because the immune system was disturbed so that the ability of the immune system to take control or control cancer cells reduced. This research aimed to determine the effect of aromatherapy massage on the sleep quality of patients with cancer. Moreover, this research was a quantitative research with a quasi experiment design using pre and post test method without control group. The sample of this research consisted of 15 respondents and the sample taking employed a consecutive sampling technique. The sleep quality was measured by using a PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) questionnaire. Hence, the result of this research showed that there was a decrease of sleep quality score after the aromatherapy massage with the probability value of 0.0001 (p value <0.05). The decrease of the sleep quality score showed that there was an increase of sleep quality so that it could be concluded that there was an effect of the aromatherapy massage on the sleep quality of patients with cancer. Based on the result of this research, it was expected that aromatherapy massage to be recommended as an independent nursing intervention in healthcare services in order to enhance the sleep quality of patients with cancer.","PeriodicalId":227928,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Third International Conference on Sustainable Innovation 2019 – Health Science and Nursing (IcoSIHSN 2019)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127031211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Green tea leaves are natural ingredients containing catechin polyphenols (flavonoids). This study aims to determine the diuretic effect of the aqueous extract of green tea leaves (AEGTL). This experimental study using 35 Swiss male mice was divided into seven groups. Group I was given CMC Na 1%, group II was given a dose of furosemide 5.2 mg/kg body weight, and group III-VII was given an aqueous extract of green tea leaves with doses of 14, 28, 42, 56 and 70 mg/kg body weight. Before treatment, all mice were given lukewarm water orally as much as 0.4 ml/20 kg body weight. Diuretic effects were tested by measuring the urine volume, measurements taken for 6 hours then calculated diuretic activity. From the results of the study obtained the diuretic activity of furosemide is 1.00, and for groups, III-VII was given AEGTL respectively 0.53, 0.57, 0.60, 0.71, and 0.91. Green tea causes an increase in glomerular filtration rates by increasing blood flow and cardiac output, which may contribute to the diuretic activity. It can be concluded that AEGTL doses 70mg/kg body weight have a diuretic activity that is equivalent to furosemide (p <0.05). Currently pneumonia is the third leading cause of death in Indonesia and the sixth cause of death in the world. One of the therapies used for pneumonia is antibiotics, but inappropriate use of antibiotics can cause resistance and also less effective treatment. This study aims to evaluate the use of antibiotics in pneumonia patients at the inpatient installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital based on guidelines from the Association of Indonesian Internal Medicine Specialists in 2010. This research is a descriptive nonexperimental observational design with retrospective data collection in the period January December 2016 and taken in total sampling from 32 medical records of adult pneumonia patients in inpatient care at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Bantul. Data was processed descriptively and compared with the guidelines from Indonesian Internal Medicine Specialist Association. The results showed that there were 32 patients who entered the inclusion criteria with 9 types of antibiotics prescribed with conformity with the Indonesian Internal Medicine Specialist Association guidelines as much as 83.34% (Azithromycin, cefotaxime, ceftazidim, ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin, gentamicin, levofloxacin). The most widely used single antibiotic therapy in PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital in 2016 was levofloxacin, 42.85%, and the most widely used combination antibiotic therapy was a combination of azithromycin and ceftriaxone 48.00%. The conclusion is that prescribing antibiotics in pneumonia patients in PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital is not entirely in accordance with the Indonesian Internal Medicine Specialist Association guidelines.","PeriodicalId":227928,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Third International Conference on Sustainable Innovation 2019 – Health Science and Nursing (IcoSIHSN 2019)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130371317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
