Drug - drug interaction (DDI) causes serious effects to human life. The adverse effect can result in death when the interaction is not known. Predicting all DDI is a challenging mission as it requires much time. Health care professionals and care givers may not be aware of all potential drug interactions. Many studies have been carried out to predict the DDI in meticulous way. Drug banks play the major role in providing information about the drugs; through drug banks we could predict the adverse effect while using two or more drugs together and can avoid the adverse reaction caused by DDI. In this article, the authors have compared different approaches used for predicting the interactions, analyzed with the methods and a comparison is provided for understanding the methods used in each research work.","PeriodicalId":227420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123358823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To innovate design thinking it uses principles of tactics in its design which can be applied in tactical way to meet the success rate of innovation. This can be improved intensely in terms of innovation. Designing is just more than products creation and its services which can be applied to systems, procedures, protocols, and experience from customers. One can design the way they want to lead, create, and innovate.","PeriodicalId":227420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132705405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the significance of proper inventory in managing change has been extensively researched, supply chain management research on safety period has gotten less attention. Earlier operations quantitative studies, in particular, have often evaluated the utilization of such stock buffers separately, rather than combined. Considering dynamic demands and stochastic timescales, the authors present the decision support system (DSS) that handle the efforts to integrate appropriate safety stock and safety time judgments at the system level in multi-item single-stage multi -supplier industrial supply chains. The DSS concept is formulated as a mixed bi-objective approach that optimizes upstream storage costs and -service levels at the same time, presenting decision-makers with alternative not dominated feasible solutions.","PeriodicalId":227420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114168058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The amount of food waste from the hospitality sector in Malta represents an appreciable amount, and specific data is critical for policy purposes and for determining the necessary treatment infrastructure. This study explores the food waste generated by a mix of hotels and restaurants of a varying nature. Breakfast generates the least food waste per cover, whilst lunch and dinner generate a greater amount of food waste. The more expensive restaurants tend to generate more food waste per cover, and different cuisines generate different waste volumes. Likewise, ‘Quality Assured' restaurants waste more food than others in order to maintain their high standards. It also emerges that food waste generated by the hospitality sector is mainly due to preparation, rather than plate waste.","PeriodicalId":227420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125283483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These social libraries serve as a conduit to access information, knowledge, and support lifelong learning. However, the traditional roles of public libraries continue to change as technology evolves. These libraries need to continually adapt their services to meet their user needs, thereby ensuring their relevance in this digital era, characterized by digital knowledge-based economy and to the communities they serve. Public libraries must integrate emerging technologies to their services by implementing cyberzones in order to build social cohesion among community members. The purpose of this study was to examine the implementation of cyberzones in public libraries and its efficacy in building social cohesion among underprivileged communities in South Africa.","PeriodicalId":227420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128415191","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the most economically active generations are Generation X and Y, it is interesting to explore customers' attitudes of those two generations towards the digital marketing applications launched by the banking sector and financial institutions. This study identifies the factors that affect customers' attitudes of Generation X and Y towards those applications, classifies the customers of both generations into groups according to their similar behaviour patterns, and profiles each group of customers according to their demographic characteristics and other factors. Principal component analysis was conducted to identify the main factors that affect customers' attitudes of Generation X and Y towards the use of digital services and applications in the banking sector. Cluster analysis was performed to classify them into groups with similar behaviour whilst discriminant analysis was conducted to check cluster predictability. Nonparametric tests were performed to profile each group of customers according to their demographic characteristics and other factors.","PeriodicalId":227420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change","volume":"98 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133621999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It perpetuates the clash between dominant and alternative cultural meanings developed by mainstream society and marginalized subgroups. We aimed to narrate the culture of resistance in the Harijan community in urban Bangladesh. We adopted Observation, In-depth Interview (IDI), Key Informant Interview (KII), and General Discussion as data collection tools to obtain data from the Harijan community to narrate it. The findings revealed that Harijan people struggled to survive with ‘intra’ and ‘inter’ community competition. Moreover, they resist in everyday activities through some cultural norms and practices such as keeping silent, avoiding any untoward situation, acting differently with mainstream people, following conventional customs as well as mainstream people’s law, and making common temples for their religious occasion’s observance. Therefore, they survive in their everyday lives by adopting this simple resistance mechanism.","PeriodicalId":227420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124687526","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

AI is assisting managers to work productively in making speedy, intelligent, and error-free decisions. The main objective of this paper is to understand the application/benefits of adopting AI and the challenges faced by HR managers while adopting the AI-based processes through literature review. This is an exploratory study that will help researchers in understanding the benefits of adopting these practices from hiring till employee exit. The paper concluded that AI tools deliver a large number of benefits, but at the same time need up-gradation of employee technical skills for its proper implementation. While implementing organizations face challenges like threat to job, transparency, and security issues while implementing and adopting AI tools in HR practices, a major threat that AI brings is lack of human touch and emotional intelligence in machines, which is required in HR practices.","PeriodicalId":227420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116820254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
