Minimnya data mengenai keanekaragaman jenis mamalia di kawasan tersebut melatarbelakangi dilakukannya penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis dan kelimpahan mamalia di kawasan hutan Desa Senamat Ulu. Jenis dan kelimpahan mamalia diketahui dengan menggunakan c amera trap dan pengamatan secara langsung di lapangan. Sebanyak 25 jenis mamalia berhasil direkam selama pengamatan. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan mamalia dengan kelimpahan yang tinggi adalah adalah Sus scrofa (babi hutan) sebesar 28,34% dan nilai terendah adalah Hemigalus derbyanus (musang belang) , Panthera tigris sumatrae (Harimau Sumatera) , dan Tragulus napu (kancil/napu) dengan nilai 0,23%. Indeks keanekaragaman satwa kawasan hutan Desa Senamat Ulu tergolong sedang sebesar 2,72. Herpetofauna memiliki peran yang penting dalam ekosistem sehingga upaya pelestariannya dalam kajian ekologis perlu menjadi perhatian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak perkebunan kelapa sawit terhadap keanekaragaman jenis dan komposisi jenis herpetofauna. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Visual Encounter Survey (VES) dengan membandingkan lima tipe tutupan lahan dengan tutupan lahan semak belukar, yang merupakan tipe tutupan lahan sebelum dialihkan menjadi perkebunan sawit. Perubahan dari semak belukar menjadi perkebunan kelapa sawit berdampak positif pada keanekaragaman jenis herpetofauna. Jumlah jenis herpetofauna pada kondisi semak belukar sebanyak 6 jenis dengan indeks kekayaan jenis sebesar 1,48, indeks keanekaragaman jenis sebesar 0,83, dan indeks kemerataan jenis sebesar 0,46. Setelah menjadi perkebunan kelapa sawit, terjadi penambahan 4 jenis herpetofauna, serta peningkatan indeks kekayaan jenis sebanyak 1,09, indeks keanekaragaman jenis sebanyak 1,08, dan indeks kemerataan jenis sebanyak 0,37. Dengan demikian, jumlah jenis herpetofauna setelah konversi lahan menjadi 10 jenis dengan indeks kekayaan jenis sebesar 2,57, indeks keanekaragaman jenis sebesar 1,91, dan indeks kemerataan jenis sebesar 0,83. Over time, there have been changes in land use around the area of Seruk Spring. This results in a decrease in the environmental quality, and even in the spring’s water discharge. As spring serves as an important part of people living in the immediate vicinity, this research aimed to determine the differences in litter quality, earthworm populations, and soil porosity at each LUS. Litter was measured in each area and analyzed in the laboratory to determine its biomass and quality. Earthworm populations and biomass were measured with the iron box method, while the soil porosity and organic matter were based on secondary data from the previous research. The correlation among all the parameters was analyzed with Principal Components Analysis (PCA) using PAST 3 software. The results showed that the bamboo forest had the most suitable land-use system around spring, based on the highest litter thickness and its quality in the area. The different qualities of each LUS provided diverse advantages for the spring ecosystem. Data dan informasi terkait penggunaan habitat dan pemodelan distribusi spasial macan tutul jawa masih sedikit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi penggunaan habitat macan tutul jawa, serta membuat pemodelan distribusi spasial macan tutul jawa. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui pemasangan camera trap , metode eksplorasi, dan pengumpulan variabel lingkungan dengan metode Maximum Entropy . Analisis dilakukan menggunakan Relative Use Index, pemodelan Maximum Entropy , dan Relative Abundance Index . Berdasarkan penelitian, penggunaan habitat oleh macan tutul jawa dengan nilai paling tinggi terdapat pada tipe habitat berupa hutan alam primer, ketinggian 751-1.250 mdpl, dan kemiringan lahan curam (26-40%), dengan sedikit gangguan manusia. Variabel lingkungan yang paling berpengaruh adalah jarak dari satwa mangsa, lereng, dan ketinggian. This study was conducted based on current condition that research on orchid inventory has never been carried out in Fakfak Regency. Therefore, there is lack information and report related to the data of orchids collection from this regency. The objective of the research was to provide a preliminary note on the diversity and distribution of orchids in the Fakfak Regency. The study was carried out using the Visual Encounter Survey and the Purposive Exploration method. The result determined 67 collection numbers consisting of 49 epiphytic orchids, 16 terrestrial orchids, and two holomycotrophic orchids classified into 33 genera and 67 species. Research on a phenetic study of Korthalsia in Sumatra has never been published. The research was conducted to describe the specific characteristics of Korthalsia spp. in Sumatra and analyze their morphological character and similarity with a phenetic analysis. There were 85 herbarium specimens of Korthalsia deposited at the Herbarium Bogoriense (BO). Twenty-four vegetative and six generative characters were observed. Scoring was analyzed with a multinomial approach. The analysis was performed using the NTSys pc 2.02. The result showed that nine species of Korthalsia in Sumatra were distinguished based on their ocrea types, leaflets shape, and rachillae.
