This paper peesents these results and describes the inovative two- way load management system that was developed and installed to achieve them. The Robinton Products, Inc. system operates from a central processor located in PEPCO's control center and it communicates with the customer locations through a telephone system called \"Select-A- Station\". Future plans for the expansion of the system are presented along with experimental results.","PeriodicalId":227345,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems","volume":"310 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1985-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115913614","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method determines the parameters of all stabilisers in the system such that some or all of its mechanical modes eigenvalues have desired locations in the complex plane. The proposed algorithm is general, effective and simple to apply. This is illustrated through three numerical examples including a three-machine and nine-machine infinite bus power systems, and with different degrees of system modelling.","PeriodicalId":227345,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1985-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122679337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The electric field measured for various shield wires under the UHV test transmission line was analyzed with the numerical field calculation and the approximate computation. It has been shown that the three-dimensional electric field can be obtained by combining the two-dimensional calculations for the electric field without shield wires and for the shielding efficiency in the uniform field.","PeriodicalId":227345,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1985-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128875401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An agreed upon philosophy of analysis was established which was acceptable for both regions. Four separate analyses were performed on the two study region's ( Mid-Continent Area Power Pool and Northeast Utilities ) 345 kV Forced outage data from the study years 1977-1981: Each individual region, comparison of data from the two regions, and the region data pooled. Important environmental differences between the two regions which affected the performance of the 345 kV transmission were identified. It was demonstrated that pooling of the Line-Related suimmer Forced outage data to gain knowledge of the corresponding outage rates was reasonable once the outage data pertaining to important differing environmental parameters were disaggregated.","PeriodicalId":227345,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1985-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128670335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
