SPE can be defined as a thrombus containing microorganisms embedded in fibrin that moves from an infectious focus and settles in pulmonary arteries. It usually causes multiple or bilateral nodular, cavitary, or wedge-shaped infiltrates, usually settled in the peripheral and neighborhood vessels of lung parenchyma. It is a rare vascular tumor, mostly seen in retroperitoneal space, hips, and thighs. Based on clinical and radiological findings, it is difficult to distinguish supratentorial intracranial HPC from meningiomas, Intracranial HPC accounts for 0.4% of all primary central nervous system (CNS) tumors. The World Health Organization (WHO) classified it as grade 2 tumor, and mesenchymal tumors are characterized as having variable malignant potential. Meningeal HPC is an extremely rare tumor, usually found in supratentorial location. Meningioma should be considered in differential diagnosis. Definitive diagnosis is made with histopathological analysis after surgery. In the present report, clinical and pathological features of a 37-yearold male patient who presented with meningeal HPC are described. Patients seek medical advice usually for solitary mass in parotid or facial location. They are generally slow-growing, low malignant potential tumors and they usually have long survival periods. Surgical excision is adequate for treatment. Our case is follicular variant of acinic cell carcinoma which is the rarest histological form of this tumor. It is very important to consider normal salivary gland and most other tumors in the differential diagnosis.
