Pictures of a child's two different facial expressions, normal and smiling, were transformed separately for each color component. The data from this transformation was analyzed to find differences between normal faces and smiling faces, which were commonly observed in the convolution of the three colors. RGB convolution could show slight differences in facial information that the monochrome data could not reveal This method has considerable potential for extracting slight facial information of autistic children.","PeriodicalId":226842,"journal":{"name":"Transaction of The Visualization Society of Japan","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131554836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then, visualization of the acquired data is becoming an important research target. In our previous work, we reported the stochastic point-based rendering (SPBR), which realizes quick and high-quality visualization of laser-scanned point cloud data. It is a novel rendering solution with transparent rendering effect and quick rendering speed. As an extension of this previous research of ours, this paper proposes a novel method for segmentation of laser-scanned data to realize visualization of multi-level transparency. The proposed data segmentation method utilizes the general features of human-made structures, and is based on logical operations of point cloud sets.","PeriodicalId":226842,"journal":{"name":"Transaction of The Visualization Society of Japan","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132613280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, detection of thrombosis in these prosthetic devices is a major challenge. In the present work, a tomographic visualization system has been tested for the possibility of real-time detection of thrombus by exploiting the electrical properties of the blood. The in-vitro experiments were conducted using bovine blood under static condition. The spatio-temporal change in conductivity was measured before, during and after the sedimentation of thrombus. When a thrombus passed through the sensor plane, rise in relative voltage was sensed in each electrode pair of the sensor. In the same time, space-averaged relative conductivity was low in the cross-section. The average conductivity of cross-section was reduced with the increase in size of the thrombus. The experiments showed the possibility of the use of electrical tomographic sensor to detect the thrombosis in real-time.","PeriodicalId":226842,"journal":{"name":"Transaction of The Visualization Society of Japan","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114490947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A temperature sensitivity of the spectral shape was only 0.008%/°C. That of the luminescent lifetime was 0.78%/°C in a range of 50~210°C. A lifetime based phosphor thermometry was performed using simple experimental setup composed of a non-intensified high speed CMOS camera, a single-pulsed UV laser and a phosphor coated with a thin metal film. The proposed system makes it possible to measure an instantaneous wall temperature even in a combustion chamber. It was demonstrated that the effect of the excitation power on the phosphor lifetime was small and that the coated metal film never affected to the phosphor lifetime. The temperature uncertainty was ±4.4°C which was evaluated from the measurements of temperature uniform fields. Then, the instantaneous wall temperature measurement was demonstrated in a severe condition with a combustion flame in the RCEM. The measured temperatures were qualitatively correct.","PeriodicalId":226842,"journal":{"name":"Transaction of The Visualization Society of Japan","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114621615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the present paper, the effect of the metal stent on the flow structure in the globate aneurysm has been visualized by PIV in vitro. The flow model is simplified by the globate cerebral aneurysm model at the side wall. The Reynolds number and the non-dimensional frequency correspond to the range of human cerebral artery flow parameter. As a major assessment variable for stent characteristics, the wall shear stress is examined for both stented and nonstented models. Consequently, the flow velocity and the wall shear stress inside the aneurysm with stent are much smaller than those without stent. Therefore, the flow characteristics quantitatively indicate to suppress the magnitude of wall shear stress with stent compared with that without stent. This would suggest that the stent possesses the possibility of occlusion of aneurysm due to the appearance and the development of thrombosis.","PeriodicalId":226842,"journal":{"name":"Transaction of The Visualization Society of Japan","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123210998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
