It describes the historical interface that makes opinions possible, and whose conflict and multiplication confirm the world that nourishes its form. No given form should interfere with new matter. The chapter points out that avant-garde does not propose the production of new vignettes within the same form, but rather the production of a new form whose vignettes are formally incompossible with the old form. It emphasizes that if the avant-garde event were to take place, then the rhetorics of the debacle, the cut, of rupture, revolution, change, of the incursion into unknown territories would be interrupted because the subject itself would become desubjectivized.","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131240367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It explains the paradigm of sovereignty that is constituted teleologically from exception, as the foundation and conservation of representational regimes. For Benjamin, the state of emergency is equivalent to “progress as a historical norm.” The chapter also looks at the commissary-sovereign state of exception that is functional to a policing critique and a politics whose prerogative is to put the regimes of representation into crisis. It analyzes a prerogative that subsumes the destructive character of the exception within a dialectical concentration of the rule, making the spectrality of destruction a function of the system of representation.","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115278516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It mentions that Aristotle's words mainly encourage a critique of the “eaves” of the tympanum that shelter and subordinates itself to the fundamental terms of its polytechnics. Critique will only take place when the limits, the conditions, and the laws of the field are thematized. The chapter also evaluates the transformation of the law from being the “subject” of knowledge-practice into the position of examined object. The performance that interrupts the field's condition initiates the exception with respect to promoted, established, and cultivated knowledges. Not only is critique located in the exception, but it also reveals instituted knowledge as an exception become rule or cannon.","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"55 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113937560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also points out the sovereignty's demand to suspend (epokhé) presupposition, heteronomous regulation. It explains how there is no prince or sovereign beginning-principle if it does not emerge from pure decision, without anterior motivation, force of habit, or histories. The chapter talks about the sanctioned beginning as the product of a principle and a previous habit rather than of pure decision. It analyzes critique as a modern “critical attitude” that was conceived in exemplarily fashion by Cartesian philosophy as hyperbole or the evil genius who decides on the beginning principle without principle or beginning, without condition, on the beginning.","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125090976","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It describes Martin Heidegger's well-known texts about contemporary nihilism that is pathetically exposed to its precursors, trajectory, and limit as the homogenization of multiple tendencies and efforts into the rigid uniformity and identity of an end-time or endzeit. The homogenizing tone of the Heideggerian analysis of nihilism is of a kind of thought that is characterized by calculation, representation, and a planned dominion that organizes, regulates, and subjugates everything. The chapter discusses the question of technology as the essential configuration of what is, which question embraces all aspects of being. It also analyzes the expression “technology,” which has a privileged position of power, implicating the vectors of administration, autonomization, bureaucratization, communication, functionalization, information, and securing and should be understood under the heading of “completed metaphysics.”","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124030725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also discusses Charles Baudelaire who complimented the defetishization of moral values in which the predominance of the auratic made worse. The serial matrix returns the Kantian use value of critique to the expanded circulation of exchange value in process, with respect to which its use value would be no more than an aestheticizing accessory. The chapter explains how the aura is assembled as an accessory in a planetary “cooperation” that adds more and more functions that are directly governed by capital. It also analyzes the fictional de-aurization of critical activity and revolution carried out by Marx in the sixth, unpublished chapter of “Capital.”","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124131963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It reviews the status of philosophical terminology that has been transformed while towing philosophical discourse behind it, changing its history into traces. Discourse awakens to its terminology by opening itself up to the virtuality of a language that, in the immanence of its testimony, has no centering function. In the essay, it explains that violence is representational sovereignty that declares the state of exception, be it to found or to conserve regimes of representation. It points out how more foundation, representation, and catastrophe involves becoming more regular and familiar with violence. Absolute knowledge and recollection would be the absolute drought of critique or destruction. The chapter highlights the “Critique of Violence”, which is a critique of sovereign right itself and a critique of the violent opening of initiation in which it consists. It further explains Benjamin's essay and its discussion on violence as the dialectic that puts exception to work for the triumphal cortege of representation, establishing a continuum between violation and progress.","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126810420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It outlines derivatives and idiomatic that always refer to meanings of specific, practical usage according to languages, dates, and cartographies. The Greek word kríno is the action of separating, picking, excluding, sieving, examining, opening, distinguishing, and differentiating a simultaneously analytical-contemplative and manual task. The chapter also discusses the medical use of krisis, which links together two levels of significance. One level is performative, in which the critical day of the illness or of the patient resonates. The other level is speculative which describes the moment of observation or medical diagnosis.","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115318346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It explains how Sorel presents himself not just as a thinker of violence but as a violent thinker. In his work, Sorel does not produce an apology for violence, for war, or for the proletarian general strike that is undifferentiated within a single revolutionary conatus and destroy the relations of property and expropriation of the historical scene. The chapter mentions Sorel's evangelization of the violent strike that is upheld as the illegitimate means of pursuing just ends or his intention to confront legitimate but unjust regulation. Sorel is a violent thinker not because he adheres to the different kinds of de facto violence that the workers' strike poses against de jure violence but because of the technology through which Reflections of Violence feeds the violence that it aspires to interrupt.","PeriodicalId":225011,"journal":{"name":"Technologies of Critique","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117292160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
