Global Positioning Systems (GPS) is a space based navigational system that provides information about the entity it evolves. The objective of the proposed system is to identify an entity on any position on Earth. The methodology depends on a RFID based application that detects the location coordinates of the place where the entity is stationed. The latitude and longitude values are determined from the GPS for the specific RFID satellite tag. The RFID satellite tag is integrated to connect to the satellite. The exposed architecture of the methodology determines the position of the individual using location coordinates. The information is retrieved without time constraints and includes the last time zone leading to tracking and tracing the location an entity. The procedure for connecting to the satellite, methods of calculating the distance, the process of obtaining the accurate timings, satellite positions and techniques for error corrections are discussed. A pseudo code to establish connection to a satellite and obtain the reference points of the location and time is stated. The implications of the location tracking algorithms are implemented and simulated using LabView system design and development software.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116782037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Haptic, visual, and aural interactions have been widely utilized and applied in various domains ranging from military and scientific visualization realms into more multidisciplinary areas, like art and culture, education, archeology, and complementary medicine. In Virtual Reality Stress Therapy (VRST) application particularly in the proliferation towards the virtualization and simulation of the Traditional Foot Reflexology (FR) therapy, the multimodal human to human (H-to-H) interactivity involved in foot reflexology was identified and categorized by previous studies from which a design requirement and an interaction model were created. However, model validation using expert reviews is necessary before a final validated interaction model can be obtained. This will translate and lay the foundation for future FR VRST system design. This paper presents an expert review of the multi-modal H-to-H interaction model for FR VRST application using 8 experts from the HCI or related domain. The experts reviewed and gave feedback on the model, their reviews were utilized to reconstruct the multi-modal H-to-H interaction model, consequently yielding a final validated multimodal H-to-H interaction model for FR VRST application. Implications for future research are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121656569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the students' perspective, digital knowledge acquiring experience motivates learning capabilities and develops required scholastic skills. Introduction to software for analytical problem solving, and establishing communication channel using available online collaborative technologies can aid in enriching university teaching and learning experience. The results of use of ICT in university courses have shown substantial difference among the two participating groups; each comprised of twenty five students from the Statistics & Empirical Methods course. The experimental group performed significantly better than the controlled group, after going through series of tests and evaluations. The findings suggest that hands on learning experience blended with collaborative learning are essentially constructive for university courses and prepare university students for applied workplaces.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121383076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, recent findings show that interval type-2 (IT2)-based fuzzy inference system (FIS) is found to be more accurate and precise than FT1. Hence, the research on how to generate IT2 MF from data is significant to be conducted. Besides, existing works also investigated the construction of IT2 MF using IT2 Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) method. The evident shows that the construction of IT2 MF from IT2 FCM method may not suitable for all kind of data sets. Hence, the objectives of this paper are to present a methodology for the generation of IT2 MF using general FCM (non-IT2 FCM) data clustering method and to describe the implementation of the proposed IT2 MFs in an FIS. The experiment results show that IT2 MFs have successfully been constructed by using general FCM and two clusters' centers approach.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127949094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A few modern countries such as Singapore, Japan and German have been able to implement these e-Government systems successfully to their citizens. E-Government is not a new thing in Malaysia. We have started to implement e-Government systems since early 2000s. However, it is observed that not everyone and everybody is interested in e-Government system, especially people from rural areas. A lot of researches have been conducted in order to look for the exact solution on how to persuade these people from rural areas to use the system. The objectives of this study are to (1) to explore the factors that contributes to the failure and success of the usage of e-government portals among rural communities in Malaysia, (2) to plan strategies to strengthen the use and involvement to e-government among rural communities in Malaysia, and (3) to develop a policy that decide on, guide and control the transformation of government to e-government among rural communities in Malaysia. This research is at its preliminary stage and hence, no results are available yet.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129287671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current approaches to GPU virtualization are classified into I/O pass-through, API-Remoting, or hybrid. However, one disadvantage of API-Remoting is that it may not be able to achieve near native performance, specifically when it comes to large volume of data processing. Although some approaches like vCUDA implemented a shared memory model (VMRPC) to improve the data transmission latency, still the behavior of XMLRPC during data encapsulation imposes a non-negligible delay. Based on our study, this delay is tied to insufficient data encapsulation in XMLRPC which is addressed in this paper. This paper first clarifies how optimized data encapsulation would affect the overall performance by accelerating data movement from client to server and second investigates its impact on GPU virtualization. To achieve this purpose, a module was designed and developed to automatically encapsulate the source data based on XMLRPC-String and transfer the data to remote GPU using an optimized packet size with minimum number of packets. Our experimental results showed that, optimized data encapsulation in XMLRPC could speed up the data transfer process up to 4.5X, when per-processing is required, and 7X without pre-processing step.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124787294","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
