For the first time in election campaign of the two states, foreign policy played an important role, namely the factor of Ukraine. The author analyzes results of the elections and assesses their impact on federal party and political processes in Germany.","PeriodicalId":224259,"journal":{"name":"Analytical papers of the Institute of Europe RAS","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115528910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author underlines the fact that Ursula von der Leyen focused on claims for global leadership in several areas of world politics. The ambitious plans of the “geopolitical Commission” to move towards the Healthcare Union and Defense Union, which imply strengthening of the supranational component of integration, are analyzed. The new “Global Gate” project, designed to counter China's economic expansion, is mentioned. But the enhancement of the EU's role in the world is hindered by persistent internal disagreements on numerous economic and political issues.","PeriodicalId":224259,"journal":{"name":"Analytical papers of the Institute of Europe RAS","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123738919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Italy has actively begun to freeze the assets of Russian \"oligarchs\". However, Italian companies operating in Russia have chosen a wait-and-see approach and avoid prompt decisions. This leaves hope for pragmatic solutions in case of a more flexible Russian approach to the issues of “nationalization” and “external management”, and in case of positive dynamics of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Italy's most pressing challenge is to reduce its dependence on Russian gas.","PeriodicalId":224259,"journal":{"name":"Analytical papers of the Institute of Europe RAS","volume":"50 1-5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116578799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Elections in Bosnia have regional significance, because the country is still an area of a frozen conflict. The elections’ results indicate that the ethnic and confessional affiliation remains to be a deciding factor in electoral processes. The collective West has already tried (unsuccessfully) to centralize the state using the Office of High Representative (OHR) with the goal of future integration of BiH into the euroatlantic structures. After the failed attempt, it has changed its approach to the Bosnian problem. Several indicators of this process were found: concessions of OHR to the Croatian community, as well as the presidential campaign in Republika Srpska, accompanied by a surge of protest activity.","PeriodicalId":224259,"journal":{"name":"Analytical papers of the Institute of Europe RAS","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134600444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among other things, the sanctions include a ban on Russian ships entering the EU ports. The European Union is increasing pressure on Russia and coordinating its actions with the United States and their allies. The common goals are to oust our country from the global financial, trading, economic, political and humanitarian space, to cause maximum damage to the industry, and to reduce the level of technological development. Finally, to make Russia a global outsider, to destroy its ability of full participation in world processes. The collective West is acting within the framework of its goals, which explains the massive sanctions strike on Russian maritime sector.","PeriodicalId":224259,"journal":{"name":"Analytical papers of the Institute of Europe RAS","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123847665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their activities are under strong reputational pressure from compatriots in Germany, even in sectors that have not been sanctioned. Vast majority of large German companies are currently leaving the Russian market or radically reducing the scope of their activities, securing the possibility of selective cooperation under previously concluded contracts. In the chorus of statements, the voices of those who do not plan to leave the Russian market are not heard.
