It can guarantee the elimination of common faults without exhaustive testing. However, average software testing practitioners may not have in-depth knowledge on Boolean algebra and complex logic derivations required to apply existing fault-based testing techniques. In this paper, a dynamic fault visualization tool has been proposed. This tool allows its user to visualize fault-based testing and prioritize test inputs with a simple greedy method. The performance evaluation of this tool has been done on Boolean expressions extracted from a real life aviation tool. The results show that it can achieve significant performance improvements compared to ordinary sequential order test execution and existing static technique. The proposed visualization tool could also identify possible faults to guide the debugging process.","PeriodicalId":224257,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Advanced Computer Science Applications and Technologies (ACSAT)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123666252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we present several algorithms for Arabic handwritten text which are based on inherent properties of Arabic writing. These algorithms include noise removal and smoothing, diacritics detection, contour tracing/correction, baseline estimation, slope correction and detecting/correcting touching descenders. In first stage of propositions validation, each presented method is individually tested on the commonly used IFN/ENIT database. Then, the influence of the presented algorithms on the recognition rate is studied based on K-NN classifier and hybrid features. The obtained results show the efficiency of the proposed algorithms and their positive impact on features discrimination and recognition performance.","PeriodicalId":224257,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Advanced Computer Science Applications and Technologies (ACSAT)","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126723309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sepak takraw is a highly complex net-barrier kicking sport that involves dazzling displays of quick reflexes, acrobatic twists, turns and swerves of the agile human body movement. A Bicycle kick or Scissor kick is a physical move made by throwing the body up into the air, making a shearing movement with the legs to get one leg in front of the other without holding on to the ground. Specifically, this paper considers bicycle kick of sepak takraw game in start kicking of the ball with uncertainty where player has different awareness regarding the contingencies. We have chosen Dempster-Shafer theory because the advantages of the Dempster-Shafer theory which include the ability to model information in a flexible way without requiring a probability to be assigned to each element in a set, providing a convenient and simple mechanism for combining two or more pieces of evidence under certain conditions, it can model ignorance explicitly, moreover rejection of the law of additivity for belief in disjoint propositions.","PeriodicalId":224257,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Advanced Computer Science Applications and Technologies (ACSAT)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122709358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fossil fuel based electricity is utilized due to lack of abundant renewable energy resources, resulting in the emission of CO2 in atmosphere and causing global temperature hike. The world is in dire need of efficient utilization of electricity. At the same time, advent of cloud computing has brought the innovation of everything as a service. This has led to proliferation of cloud services in every computing field. It has increased the load on cloud hosting data-centers, resulting in excessive use of electricity. A cloud data-center can manage to save electricity by reducing resource exploitation through either or both of the efficient utilization based and thermal based scheduling and monitoring. In this paper we take a peek into recently proposed thermal aware scheduling and monitoring techniques to maintain a cost effective Green Cloud Computing environment.","PeriodicalId":224257,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Advanced Computer Science Applications and Technologies (ACSAT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124326079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given that these solutions provide an integrated solution to the needs of an organization, these systems are in high demand by all organizations. The full potential of these systems can only be realized only if they are successfully implemented. However, the implementation process is costly and time consuming, and thus requires careful planning and organization. If successfully implemented, ERP systems provide many benefits to those organizations that adopt them. On the other hand, if the implementation process is not successful, the venture can prove costly. By examining the existing literature on this topic, this paper focuses on how ERP systems can be successfully implemented in organization and the critical success factors. The information provided in this paper may be used to guide organizations in the implementation of ERP systems.","PeriodicalId":224257,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Advanced Computer Science Applications and Technologies (ACSAT)","volume":"359 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133830995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, developing a model for estimating the cutting parameters and optimizing this model to minimize the cutting temperatures and surface roughness becomes utmost important to avoid any damage to the quality surface. This paper presents the development of new models and optimizing these models of machining parameters to minimize the cutting temperature in end milling process by integrating the genetic algorithm (GA) with the statistical approach. The mathematical models for the cutting temperature and surface roughness parameters have been developed, in terms of cutting speed, feed rate, and axial depth of cut by using Response Methodology Method (RSM). Two objectives have been considered, minimum cutting temperature and minimum arithmetic mean roughness (Ra). Due to complexity of this machining optimization problem, a multi objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) has been applied to resolve the problem, and the results have been analyzed.","PeriodicalId":224257,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Advanced Computer Science Applications and Technologies (ACSAT)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126903992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
