The resulting model has been found to be analytical expressions in terms of physical level variables of MOSFET. Furthermore, it has been verified by using 65 nm level BSIM4 based benchmarks and have been found to be very accurate with smaller than 10% average percentages of errors. Hence, this research gives an alternative approach to the statistical and variability aware analysis and design of subthreshold MOSFET based RF circuits, systems and applications.","PeriodicalId":224049,"journal":{"name":"The 4th Joint International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (JICTEE)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121565760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The gold standard for continuous monitoring is invasive, direct method performed by inserting a catheter into the arteries. This article presents development of a low cost, non-invasive continuous blood pressure transducer based on applanation tonometry measured at external surface of the wrist. Preliminary testing with the blood pressure simulator has shown that the signal obtained from reported transducer visually correlated to the catheter type. Moreover applied to the healthy volunteers, continuation and consistent waveforms were also obtained.","PeriodicalId":224049,"journal":{"name":"The 4th Joint International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (JICTEE)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121719462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to control the exoskeleton, there should be a complete understanding of torques produced by the limb itself which makes the musculoskeletal modeling of the limb essential but also complex. In addition, the musculoskeletal model can be used to discover the user's desired movement to control the exoskeleton. In this paper a complete musculoskeletal model for the elbow with two degrees of freedom is developed and simulated. Next the model is used to determine user's desired movement. Finally based on this evaluation, an exoskeleton model is controlled by PD and Lyapunov-based controllers. The results show suitable resemblances between the control efforts of natural arm movement and the exoskeleton interfaced system.","PeriodicalId":224049,"journal":{"name":"The 4th Joint International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (JICTEE)","volume":"339 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124769449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The parameters in the forward path and return path are collected from CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) which communicate with the cable modem and used to analyze the network performance in a 3-dimensional graph. The result provides a 3-D diagram which is a tool to analyse the network performance base on network criteria. The parameters obtained from each block in 3D space represents the state of the network. It shows the symptom that the network is suffering. The resulting measures can be used key performance indices for the network.","PeriodicalId":224049,"journal":{"name":"The 4th Joint International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (JICTEE)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133371278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although installing CAPTCHA enhances system's security, it has to be continuously analysed, improved and developed for hard decoding or extracting from intrusion of automatic programs. This paper is mainly focused on examination of text-based CAPTCHA images with several degrees of noise, skew, font type and size. The Template Matching Correlation (TMC) technique consisting of image conversion, threshold, noise rejection, segmentation and recognition methods, is introduced for analysis. From simulation results, the robustness is increased after the image is distorted by noise background and font skew in the range of 0.3 to 0.4 and 10° to 15°; however fluently recognized by human.","PeriodicalId":224049,"journal":{"name":"The 4th Joint International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (JICTEE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131836986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed oscillator is constructed using two VDTAs and three grounded capacitors, which is advantageous for integrated circuit implementation. The circuit provides two current outputs with 90° phase difference from high output impedance terminals. The condition of oscillation and the frequency of oscillation can be electronically tuned by adjusting the bias current of the VDTAs. The sensitivity studies of the circuit have been carried out. PSPICE simulations with 0.35 μm TSMC CMOS process parameters are given to confirm the theoretical analysis.","PeriodicalId":224049,"journal":{"name":"The 4th Joint International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (JICTEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130583832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method employs the focus measurement to select the best in focus area of the input images. Then combine these areas to be the output image which all areas are in focus. The size of the window for the focus measurement is adjustable. The criterion to adjust the window size is the variance of gray level information of edged input images. Therefore, the proposed method will use suitable size of the window for each area in the input images. The result showed the improvement of this method, which gives the smoother boundary.","PeriodicalId":224049,"journal":{"name":"The 4th Joint International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (JICTEE)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123503133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Four types of customers including industrial, commercial, high density residential, and low density residential sectors are considered. The days of week including special holidays are also taken into account. To be more specific, previous loads and forecasted temperature are used as the input to support vector machines to predict load in the next 24 hours. A new normalization method based on temporal segments is also proposed. Rather than testing only on the training substations, the cross-substation test is also experimented. The good performances with the mean absolute error (MAE) of 1.45 MW and the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 4.58% are achieved on average when testing on the same substations. The average MAE and MAPE for the cross-substation test are 1.46 MW and 7.66%, respectively. This demonstrates that the proposed forecasting scheme can be applied in new substations without retraining the system.","PeriodicalId":224049,"journal":{"name":"The 4th Joint International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (JICTEE)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128870769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
