The tunable resonator circuit has a constant Q factor in the operating frequency range, and since the circuit has a varactor diode, the inductor and capacitor values of the resonator can be changed. Further, the inductance value for zero-current switching (ZCS) is implemented a lumped element and the capacitance value is made a distributed element for phase compensation. The inverse class-E amplifier can deliver an output power of 25dBm and can achieve a maximum a PAE of 75% in the frequency range 65-120MHz.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"10 Suppl 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124279346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This system will be the most natural and intuitive HCI system due to the application of gaze direction or biomedical Signals. We propose a multimodal user interface system using the nine directional gaze recognition based on image, EOG (Electrooculography) signal and speech recognition. In this paper, we use DFA (Deterministic Finite Accepter), Haar-like feature and Adaboost algorithm, SVM (Support Vector Machine) for gaze recognition based on the EOG signal and image. Furthermore, the CHMM (Continuous Hidden Markov Model) based speech recognition system has been linked for inputting speech commands. The proposed multimodal user interface system solves the problem of constraint of single modal recognition systems. As a result, the proposed system achieves higher recognition performance and more natural interface using speech commands.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134351804","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As next generation technology in the area of transfer platform, precision positioning and transfer flatness control under the 10m is required for inline process such as automatic optical inspection, surface treatment, and marking. As magnetic roller conveyer type is used as transfer platform for flat panel display, there are many problems such as contamination of panel by contact between roller and panel, deterioration of quality, and uncontrollable flatness. The requirements of the high precision linear transfer platform are high positioning accuracy and high transfer flatness. To satisfy these requirements, it has to be designed with the direct drive linear motion system and air floating system. In this work, linear transfer platform having air floating system is proposed, where moving system using linear motor is mounted at the inside of the air floating system, and air floating system is used for floating the flat panel display panel, control system are used for performance requirement. The developed high precision linear transfer platform is verified by performance test in the condition of 50mm step motion for 300mm stroke. From the performance test, positioning accuracy is measured as 4.6μm and repeatability is measured as 0.4μm. Velocity ripple is measured as 0.3% at transfer velocity of 100mm/sec. The transfer flatness is measured as 2.0μm, air gap is measured as 34.5μm in the condition of 1kg payload, and straightness is measured as 9.0μm. From the performance test, developed linear transfer platform is applicable for the flat panel display production and inspection process.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"348 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124300302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some studies try to adapt the well-known transmission control protocol (TCP) for reliable data transport in WSNs. However, a long multi-hop connection usually leads to poor performance, such as low packet delivery ratios and throughputs. The connection can be split into multiple shorter fragments by selecting some intermediate nodes as TCP proxies to improve performance. This letter proposes a scheme called adaptive split TCP (AS-TCP) which can adaptively split a TCP connection into fragments of varied lengths (i.e., numbers of hops) based on wireless channel conditions. Our simulation results show that AS-TCP outperforms related ones in terms of the packet delivery ratio, and throughput.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122901461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In such environments, it is envisaged that users (through one of their mobile devices and via some network access technologies) should be able to seamlessly discover, select, and access a rich offering of services from a range of service providers. Password-based and ID-based authentication schemes are widely used but they still have potential threats that the passwords and verification table may be read, or altered by intruder. Moreover, the user’s privacy is not achieved especially if a principal’s privacy is to be protected. On the other side, Neural Network has been attracting more and more researchers since the past decades. The properties such as parameter sensitivity, random similarity, learning ability, etc., make it very suitable for information protection and privacy preserving. In this paper we present a Neural based secure joining phase with a biometric based Authenticated Key Agreement (NB-EC-SAKA). Our proposed protocol provides privacy, biometric-based secure mutual authentication, key establishment and key confirmation over an untrusted network. Our protocol is a based on EC-SAKA protocol [16], on Elliptic Curve Cryptography, and on EC-digital signature. The new proposal relies on [16] to achieve many of the required security and performance properties including dictionary attacks, ManIn-The middle attack, perfect forward secrecy which protects past sessions and passwords against future compromise, etc. This paper presents a review on the biometric authentication and neural networks techniques and presents a new scheme where user’s security and privacy are preserved. The purpose of our scheme is to ensure that the rendered services are accessed only by a legitimate user and not anyone else and while privacy is preserved.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115788677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, most medical decision models rely on point estimates for input parameters, although the uncertainty surrounding these values is well-recognized. However, it still left some challenge problems that are commonly involved in computational problems involving experts’ epistemic uncertainty. This paper has motivated by existence of parameters uncertainty in the fuzzy Bayesian decision process. In addition, we examined the fuzzy entropy weight operators in two ways: through the fuzziness of the prior moments and through the fuzziness of failure data set. Advance in numerical methods and computation have made it possible to implement fuzzy Bayesian analysis in way previously research and thereby provides guidelines for decision-making and furnishes decision makers with valuable support for making reliable and robust decisions.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"115 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132718628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that data throughput decreases as fiber length increases. In UDP packet transmission the maximum throughput decreases gradually by 16.6% and 18.6% for basic access and RTS/CTS, respectively. But, with considering TCP packet transmission, the reductions are 21.3% and 22% when the fiber delay increases from 0 to 22.5 μs with using basic mechanism and 0 to 18 μs with RTS/CTS one (i.e., fiber length increases from 0 to 4.3 km and 0 to 3.5 km for basic access and RTS/CTS respectively). It is also noted that the network fails long before physical layer limitations set in due to the timeout values defined within the MAC protocol.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121216750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
