Random fonts are rendered differently every time they are output onto the screen. When generating handwriting fonts, it is important to render the individual’s handwriting style as this can facilitate and improve communication. The purpose of this research is to develop a system that simulates an individual’s handwriting style using randomly generated fonts. This method utilizes three main steps: dynamic programming (DP) for matching the original data points of input strokes, a minimum spanning tree method, and random font generation through interpolation. DP matching improves the accuracy of the minimum spanning tree. The minimum spanning tree connects similar shapes in order to produce a new font shape had original features truly. The interpolation method allows a generated font shape to be similar to real handwriting characters but have a new shape. As a result, our system generates random fonts that retain an individual handwriting features, maintaining the wealth of font variation.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126278287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also helpful to recognize the target types. If the target type is identified, suitable tracking algorithms and tracking filters may achieve higher tracking quality. Even if the radar system does not have high resolution, the target types may still be recognized since different target types have different motion behaviors. For example, tactical ballistic missiles have high velocity, rapid change in height and small radar cross section. Cruise missile can fly along the shape of landforms at low velocities. Most radar systems have hard real time constraints. If a scheduled task cannot be accomplished in time, it may lead to serious damage. So it is important to design a flexible software model that can improve reusability, test performance and maintenance. Traditional realizations of target tracking software are based on the functional-oriented method. Although it is easy to implement, it lacks architectural analysis, design, and maintainability. This paper proposes two design patterns for efficient, flexible and real-time target-tracking models.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114267721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Typical examples are automotive oils, e.g. engine, brake and transmission oils, where water content in the order of a few percent needs to be detected. In this paper, we analyzed the suitability of capacitive sensor using permittivity change for water-in-oil emulsions. Using the principle of the cross capacitor, the related sensor response according to the change of water content in oils could be obtained. The electrodes of the cross capacitor were formed around PVC(Polyvinyl Choloride) tube by attaching a copper film. The sensor output was obtained by the 555 timer which is the capacitance-to-frequency converter. The frequency change was also recorded and displayed by PC using LabVIEW monitoring program. Thus, the system can be used for continued monitoring of the base oil’s quality even in case of an apparent water contamination.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126229385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The honeycomb paperboard is modeled as a linear material with viscoelastic property, whose constitutive law is expressed by an exponential hereditary relaxation kernel. The free response of the mass loaded honeycomb paperboard system is expressed as the sum of complex exponentials, the system poles and residues are identified by the modified Prony method, the parameters of the dynamic model are identified by a substitution strategy. An experiment system is fabricated to record the free response of the mass-material system. Finally, the parameters identification technique is applied to the experimental data to obtain the relevant stiffness, viscous and viscoelastic parameters associated with the system. Variations in values of these parameters as function of static load level is also investigated and presented. Honeycomb paperboard dynamic properties model and the parameters presented in this paper can provide theoretical and design basis for the proper use of honeycomb paperboard in packaging.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131190278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we identify two security flaws in ICIM systems that may lead to a serious privacy violation. The first is the reliance on Internet user judgements of the authenticity of service providers, and the second is the reliance of the system on a single layer of authentication. We also propose a solution designed to address both flaws. The proposed solution enhances the privacy of ICIM systems by mitigating the risk of users being deceived by fake service providers. It also reduces the risk of an attacker impersonating a legitimate user to access services offered by one or more service providers, after having broken the only means employed to authenticate the user to identity provider. We also provide a security and performance analysis of the proposed solution. In this paper, CardSpace is used as an example of an ICIM system, and the modification is described in the context of this system.","PeriodicalId":223554,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering and Industries","volume":"20 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132792523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
