Work was disrupted as a result of machine problems. Therefore, routine maintenance was necessary to reduce the likelihood of failure. The objective of this research was to determine the appropriate period for checking the condition of machinery using predictive maintenance by vibration analysis. The following procedure was used for conducting this research: 1) Measure the vibration value, and 2) Determine ISO 10816–3 conformity to predict the appropriate period for inspecting the condition of the machinery. According to ISO 10816–3, the result indicated information on the rotating machinery's performance and vibration level. The fuzzy logic method predicted the life expectancy of equipment in maintenance.","PeriodicalId":223538,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Power, Energy and Innovations (ICPEI)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131369022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Effects of substrate's dielectric constant and height are discussed. Input impedance is optimized step by step from a single patch to a 2×1 array. Low impedance patches provide higher gain at the cost of increased capacitive coupling between the elements. Consequently, input impedance at the operating frequency is affected by the higher resonant mode. Finally, a technique to mitigate the coupling between the patches is proposed. With the proposed technique, the higher resonant mode can be eliminated so that the 2×1 array can easily be matched and operates with the correct patch array mode.","PeriodicalId":223538,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Power, Energy and Innovations (ICPEI)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114430669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The PD is detected by High Frequency Current Transformer (HFCT). Electric field stress investigation is carried out by using Finite Element Method Magnetic (FEMM) simulation tool. The defective cable terminations used are no-stress control, needle tip on insulation screen and sandpaper scrubbed termination. PD investigation is carried out by applying 50 Hz and 0.1 Hz voltage sources and Partial Discharge Inception Voltage (PDIV), Partial Discharge Extinction Voltage (PDEV), PD magnitude and Pulse Repetition Rate are recorded. The diesel particulate filter (DPF) is one of the widely used technologies that can reduce PM in the exhaust of a diesel engine. However, the DPF can cause fuel efficiency drop or engine damage due to the DPF blockage. For PM filtration, the electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is an efficient technology that uses electrostatic force to remove PM with low pressure drop and cleanability. Nonetheless, the filtration efficiency of the ESP drops abruptly for ultrafine PM and the high velocity of diesel exhaust. Therefore, this paper proposes an efficiency improvement technique for diesel exhaust filtration using ESP. An air distribution plate is applied to reduce exhaust velocity before entering the ESP that has a larger surface area. The shape and size of the opened area in the proposed air distribution plate are designed and simulated to achieve smooth airflow distribution throughout the ESP. A small-scale prototype is fabricated to investigate the airflow distribution and the filtration efficiency. After the performance confirmation, a full-scale prototype is designed for diesel vehicles. The experiment with a diesel pickup truck illustrates the PM removal efficiency improvement with an average efficiency of 79%.","PeriodicalId":223538,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Power, Energy and Innovations (ICPEI)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116864546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A ring-circular electrode pair is attached at the well bottom to generate the electric field. Geometrical parameters including the radius of the circular electrode and the gap between the center and the surrounding electrode are studied to investigate the sensitivity of the sensing platform. In addition, the thickness of the well bottom was also varied with the values of 1.24 mm, 0.5 mm and 0.1 mm. The frequency responses including reflection coefficient, conductance and susceptance are simulated and compared for all case studies. The result shows that the electrode pair with narrower gap and larger radius of the center electrode provides more sensitive frequency responses in the presence of water in the well. Well base thickness also has a direct influence on the frequency response. A thin well base leads to high sensitivity of the impedance spectroscopy. The proposed design can be applied for monitoring of biological cells cultivated in cell culture plates in the future.","PeriodicalId":223538,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Power, Energy and Innovations (ICPEI)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123701659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this type of fault which classifies as a high impedance fault (HIF) is difficult to detect by a conventional protection scheme. To detect and locate this type of fault, Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has initiated the pilot project in its two feeders. This pilot project uses data from an implemented IoT meters to detect fault and uses the network topology of feeder combine with graph theory to locate the faulty section. The detection method is based on a voltage unbalance, which is a result of an open circuit or loss of phase when a conductor broke.
