For these components, we evaluated the ability to maintain the lubricating film by using an artificial hip joint simulator and a detaching testing system of the femoral head from the acetabulum. As the results, the filloeing facts became clear. 1) The lubricating film was well maintained by radial clearance 13μm or less in the combination of PE acetabulum and metal head with the spericity of 8μm and 0.75μm, respectively. 2) If a good lubricating film is maintained in artificial joint sliding surface, the torque generated by the walking exercise fell to 1/100 of dry friction. Then, a good lubricating ability is kept at walking period 40rpm or more.","PeriodicalId":223355,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese journal of medical instrumentation","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128650702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There was concern that such shoulder massagers might transmit electromagnetic interference (EMI) to implantable cardiac pacemakers because of the time-varying magnetic field associated with the activation of the solenoid coils. The objective of this study was to investigate the potential EMI effect of one such shoulder massage machine on implantable cardiac pacemakers. We measured the distribution profile of the magnetic field intensity around the shoulder massager. We also performed an inhibition test and an asynchronous test using the standardized Irnich human body model. The distribution profile of the magnetic field intensity was highest on one of the solenoid coils with a value of 212 (A/m). The maximal interference distance from this shoulder massager was 28cm. The technical specifications in the device’s user manual contain no information about the potential problems involving the EMI effect of the massager on implantable cardiac pacemakers. When patients with an implanted pacemaker use a shoulder massager activated with solenoid coils, a warning must be placed in the user’s manual regarding the potential adverse effects of EMI on pacemakers. ソレノイドコイルを使用した家庭用電気マッサージ器による 植込み型心臓ペースメーカへの電磁干渉に関する研究 吉 田 冴 子 藤 原 康 作 廣 瀬 稔 , * 1","PeriodicalId":223355,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese journal of medical instrumentation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128969263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry of Japan set recommended water quality standard as 100 CFU/ml ( common bacteria ) and 2,000 CFU/ml ( heterotrophic bacteria ). However, there are no reports on dental units meeting this standards in Japan. The purpose of this study was to develop a dental units without a water supply pipe, and meet water quality standards of Japan . We removed the water supply pipe from a dental unit, installing a built-in removable water supply tank. We grew common bacteria on standard agar at 36 ℃ for one days and heterotrophic bacteria on R2A agar at 20 ℃ for 7 days, and measured bacterial numbers in the conventional type and the tank type. The results of the conventional type ranged from 180 to 31,000 CFU/ml in common bacteria, and 2,000 to 86,000 CFU/ml in heterotrophic bacteria. The results of the tank type ranged from 30 to 50 CFU/ml in common bacteria, and 30 to 1,500 CFU/ml in heterotrophic bacteria achieving the water quality standard of Japan. The conventional type has a water supply pipe 6-7 m long. In contrast, the tank type has 26cm.","PeriodicalId":223355,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese journal of medical instrumentation","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126896047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To create a smooth surface, a metal-bonded grinding wheel was used for rough grinding and then a rubber-bonded wheel was used for final grinding. The optimum conditions for rough processing were a rotational speed of 400 rpm, a cut depth of 0.5 mm, a 40 mm/s feed rate of the work , and pitch interval for feeding in the y-direction of 1 mm. For final grinding, the optimum spark-out scanning time was 20 min.
