This study's major objective is to represent elements of bricolage as product creativity in a design studio. This study's primary objective is not to increase the efficacy of product creativity, but rather to accurately make a new description of the elements of product creativity based on the notions of bricolage. An experiment was performed with 25 student works designed as the part of the assignment titled `inform/perfom` in basic design studio. Rating scales were utilized as evaluation instruments.Considering the product creativity as bricolage, it was found that there is statistically significant relation between design elements, design principles and material utilization. Moreover, compared to design principles, design elements have a higher ratio of creative level in student works.","PeriodicalId":221583,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Architectural Research and Education","volume":"13 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140509148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is what is called technopreneurship: a collaboration between the application of technology as an instrument and an independent business spirit as a necessity. In an era of intense global competition, business innovation must be accompanied by various kinds of technological engineering in order to multiply the performance of the business. Technopreneurship is an integral character between competency in applying technology and the spirit of building a business. From here, a technological business unit grows: a business unit that utilizes applied technology in the process of innovation, production, marketization, etc. Communication and information technology or telematics technology (information and communication technology (ICT) has been recognized by the world as one of the means and the main infrastructure to tackle the world's problems.The Community Service Program with the title Technopreneur Training in Building an Entrepreneurial Spirit for Prospective Architects in the Field of Consulting Services and Construction Services at the University of Education of Indonesia is implemented to provide entrepreneurial skills for students to have entrepreneurial mentality and skills (entrepreneurship) and form a Campus business incubator unit. This program selects and guides 21 students to become independent micro entrepreneurs. The method used in this program is practical learning based on business projects by training and assessing the ability of students to start and run a business based on 4 assessment criteria which include: personality, cooperation, leadership and online marketing skills to increase competitiveness and overcome constraints of limited production funding. The implementation of this KDP includes 4 stages consisting of recruitment, approach, implementation, and monitoring evaluation of 20 prospective tenants for 8 months. From these activities, it is expected that 10 tenants will become independent entrepreneurs and 5 people are still not successful.","PeriodicalId":221583,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Architectural Research and Education","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134370724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study is important along with UU no. 24 Tahun 2007 concerning disaster management that disaster reconstruction activities must take into account the character of the local community and environmental sustainability. The phenomenological approach in this study is by observing the symptoms of the interaction between the artificial environment of the estate settlement, rural environment, and local residents-immigrants and the impact of the system's sustainability in the region. The data such as: 1) pre-tsunami and current land use maps (2020); 2) observation data, regarding daily activities of economic activities in the area; 3) interviews with community leaders to explain the dynamics of local people's economic activities. The analysis method uses a manual interaction diagram system, to read the causality structure which analyzed with “logic of space”. The results are: a) the location of relocated housing has shifted the location of livestock grazing and agricultural gardens towards hills as well as developing mining business activities C about 0.5-1Km from the housing, which is at risk of natural hazards; b) the housing environment somehow hinders the people’s daily freedom of movement and livestock towards the hills. Livestock sometimes cross residential areas and even eat plants in house yards and green open spaces and these disturb the comfort of residential residents. The conclusion is that the pattern of placing the relocated housing environment has created “space in space” which changes the pattern of community home-range activities. Suggestions for the sustainability of the economic life of local residents and the comfort of living for newcomers are the need for a strategy to organize an official route of movement to the hills and to make improvements to land for the hills, as well as the obligation to permanently fence off the housing environment. Both things are done with systems approach and synergize the interests of local communities and migrant communities. Sylhet city, which is popularly known as the spiritual capital of Bangladesh, has been shaped by two different spiritual streams over years. From thousand years Sylhet is known for a transitional hub of political, cultural, ethnical and religious migration which shaped a unique urban fabric in the morphology of this city. The spirituality of Sylhet deeply influenced by two major streams of religious philosophy of both Islam and Hinduism, not in conventional form but in form or Sufism and Vaishnavism which is deeply rooted in a spirit of mysticism, humanity, and self-consciousness. God is prayed here not in form of temples or mosques but in Akhadas (informal shrine) and Mazars (tomb of saints, places are a mediator between creator and creation. These ritual centers also turned to be the focal point of the city surrounded by public spaces, road networks, commercial centers through the juxtaposition of sacred space and community space. Truly Mazars and Akhadas are a center of cultural transition beyond language, geography and race to shape this sacred land a spiritual identity and symbol of faith. This study focuses on these paradigms in terms of architecture and urban design to make a new approach to redefine the understanding of Sylhet city for future researchers and historians.","PeriodicalId":221583,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Architectural Research and Education","volume":"21 7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125686398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample in this study was Pasteur RW6, Sukajadi District at Bandung City, which was selected based on criteria including non slum areas, as well as high community participation. The results showed that the level of public awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and actions on air quality in the room before the Workshop was in the medium category. Then it increased after the Workshop, which was on a relatively moderate increase in knowledge. This can be seen from the majority of people who already know the importance of indoor air quality, but the knowledge of specific components that affect indoor air quality is still not understood. Indonesian government has even accelerated the implementation of BIM as a requirement in planning above 2000 m2 since year 2018. The word renovation in BIM life cycle means one of the post-project building phases after maintenance, rehabilitation but before reach demolition phases as an ending of the building. On the other hand, renovation is not a strange thing for the Indonesian people and has direct meaning to its activity. Even though occupying a new property, there is always a tendency to change, add or even reduce some parts of existing buildings. Renovation is also unavoidable when there is a change in function in a building and it can be classified as adaptive reuse as part of the concept of sustainable building, a preservation and rehabilitation of an old building that has unique design or contains certain historical significance. This research is structured and focuses more on the issue of time efficiency which is very significant in the renovation stage. Temple is often regarded as an identity of a region, cultural heritage, and a hereditary historical heritage that manifested as an architectural work. Although considered as a historical heritage, the absence of adequate historical documentation regarding temples in Bali causes changes that often do not match the story and the initial appearance of the temple. Many factors can be said to be the cause of the temple change, e.g.: (1) the community's desire to make temple repairs practical and fast; (2) understanding of the local community who are still minimal in the rules of building a temple; (3) there are no clear rules regarding the construction of a temple; (4) people's insensitivity to their identity; and (5) the absence of adequate documentation for the process of building a temple.Changes of a temple are also caused by government development funds, so many temples are dismantled and changed \"forcefully\" which unconsciously destroys the order of values and traces of the history of the temple. Temples that have historical values are instead replaced with new or contemporary models that are not necessarily based on original literature from the previous ancestral order.
