For instance, in case of malignant tumors surgery is not advisable since these tumors are attached very closely with the sensitive tissues of brain, rather chemotherapy treatment is suggested. In this work, two nonlinear controllers have been designed to determine the amount of chemotherapy to remove the tumor cells and retain suitable quantity of healthy and immune cells: the adaptive super-twisting sliding mode and the adaptive terminal sliding mode controllers. System stability and convergence have been verified by the use of Lyapunov stability theory. The performance of the controllers has been verified by the use of MATLAB software on the basis of different control parameters. Adaptive terminal sliding mode controller appears more appealing for its convergence and the reduced chattering, allowing at the same time a reduced amount of drug.","PeriodicalId":220845,"journal":{"name":"2022 26th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"48 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133995403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently research on sewer network modelling is focusing on data-driven models instead of mathematical ones, this technique being the more suitable one to be used in the future to also model one of the important environmental problems: emerging pollutants. The current sewer network control strategies are focusing on minimizing the overflow volume or the overflow loads, however, a balance between the two objectives must be found to reduce the overall effect. Another approach that should be considered in future research is to consider the processing capacity of the treatment facilities when developing sewer network control strategies, by implementing optimal control strategies for the integrated sewer network - wastewater treatment plant system.","PeriodicalId":220845,"journal":{"name":"2022 26th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134261920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is important to estimate this number, in order to adequately allocate resources to face the possible forthcoming epidemic emergency. This is the problem faced in this paper referring to the HIV-AIDS epidemic; this sanitary emergency is peculiar for the long incubation time: it can reach even 10 years, a long period in which the individual can unconsciously infect other subjects. The identification of the number of infected subjects is here obtained by using the extended Kalman filter applied to a noisy model in which only the number of infected diagnosed patients is available. Numerical simulations support the effectiveness of the approach.","PeriodicalId":220845,"journal":{"name":"2022 26th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132734874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim is the development of a robust and efficient control algorithm tacking into account the stock deterioration and its replenishment subject to a delay from a remote supply source and reacting significantly faster to the consumer's demand, which is considered as unknown disturbance. Here, instead of model-based control strategies, through a continuous, local identification of the level variations a model-free control that does not need any prior knowledge of the supply chain behaviors is proposed. The developed control policy permits to take into account both the transportation losses which could appear between the suppliers and the final customers and accounts for decay of goods stored in warehouse (perishing inventories) preventing from exceeding the facilities capacities.","PeriodicalId":220845,"journal":{"name":"2022 26th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130809918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As OLS is at the core of the extended dynamic mode decomposition algorithm, it is interesting to pay attention to alternative methods, such as maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), to deal with the identification problem. This study explores this direction, discusses the question of defining the probability distribution of the observable functions, and illustrates the performance of the algorithm with two case studies. The first one shows a successful application of MLE to a simple reaction network, while the second, more complex example based on the Duffing equation highlights the method limitation in relation with the empirical construction of the probability distribution of the observables.","PeriodicalId":220845,"journal":{"name":"2022 26th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115145469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This new method is compared with alternative approaches for collision checking, which are widely used in conjunction with different path planners. All methods are evaluated in a systematic simulation study with numerous scenarios, using two of the most popular path planning methods, Hybrid A* and RRT*. On the one hand, the results show that the new collision checking approach can manage the narrow passages better than the compared methods. On the other hand, its computation time can be longer or shorter, depending on the particular scenario.","PeriodicalId":220845,"journal":{"name":"2022 26th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127572285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The tracking is achieved using a shared correlation filter for stereo images that can be captured at high speed using the features of high-framerate images. In addition, by adjusting the tracking window for each automobile, robust tracking can be performed even in the case of partial occlusion with respect to visually overlapping automobiles. Experiments on in-vehicle camera images were performed at a frame rate of 500 fps to validate the efficacy of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":220845,"journal":{"name":"2022 26th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127305523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The buck converter, also known as step-down converter, is a very common converter type. This converters allows the reduction of the input voltage. We suggest an alternative topology, where the reactive lumped elements of the buck converter are replaced by a transmission line. This results in a distributed converter model with new properties. The special case where the state is unknown and part of the scheduling vector is considered. In this case the model is always recurrent in the states which demands for an internal dynamics approach, e.g. a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). The proposed approach is based on a structured RNN developed by Lachhab et al. [1], but extends the original model via so-called gates, neural network structures which are responsible for the recent success of RNNs on various areas of application in Machine Learning, such as the Long short-term memory (LSTM) network and the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU). The use of gates has multiple advantages: The complexity of the models scheduling map and hence its approximation capabilities are increased, while preserving its affine quasi-LPV structure and the applicability of the results on global asymptotic stability (GAS) by Lachhab et al. [1] at the same time. The performance of the proposed approach is demonstrated by comparison with two other RNN-based approaches on two nonlinear system identification benchmark problems.","PeriodicalId":220845,"journal":{"name":"2022 26th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125734170","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
