Haematological parameters during later gestation and lactation periods of female rats. The Iraqi palm kernel oil was collected and extracted using the Soxhlet, and the pure Malaysian kernel oil was purchased from Malaysia. The study was divided into two experiments; the first included 15 pregnant females at gestation days 17-19 divided into a first control group of late pregnancy and a second later pregnant administration with 150μL of IDKO, the third subgroup of later pregnancy administration with 150μL of MPKO. The second experiment, lactating was done on lactated mothers from one day of parturition until weaning day, divided into three subgroups: first control group second group lactated mother administration with groups compared with control groups. The parameters: RBC, Hb, PCV, platelets, and basophils increased significantly, and MCH, MCHC, MCV decreased significantly in IDKO and MPKO groups than control in the first experiment (17-19) GD. WBC count increased significantly in IDKO group than control and MPKO while lymphocytes decreased and neutrophils increased in MKPO group. The result from lactating study report that RBC count Hb, PCV, MCV, and MCH did not change significantly","PeriodicalId":218727,"journal":{"name":"Basrah Journal of Veterinary Research","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124137315","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experiment was divided into 9 equal groups; & each group had 30 birds with 3 replicates, and each replicate had 10 birds. The control group was without addition. As for the treated groups, cysteine, and aflatoxin B1 were added to their diets at 40%, 80% & 160% cysteine, and aflatoxin B1 was added at 0 ml, 4 ml & 8 ml, respectively. The variables collected were liver & kidney histopathology, Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels. When adding cysteine to a bird's diet contains Aflatoxin B1 not observed in blood ALT amount. The histopathological examination showed fibrosis in the liver and degeneration and dilatation of cortical tubules in the kidney. The amount of AST in the blood was greater at 28 days of age, specifically in G2 (Cysteine 80%) &G3 (Cysteine 160%) at Aflatoxin B1 0 ml, which caused significant damage to the liver. The giving of cysteine 40, 80& 160% in birds' feed contaminated with AflatoxinB1 0, 4& 8ml, which is intake by birds, has harmful effects on the health of the liver.","PeriodicalId":218727,"journal":{"name":"Basrah Journal of Veterinary Research","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123559130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Eight hundred (800) local and different horse breeds aged from (1.8–25) years old and from both sexes was examine during the period started from a15.oct. 2020 to 20 April 2021. The 184 serum samples were drained from suspected horses to examined by using double antigen multispecies Eliza of Burkholderia mallei . Results show that only 4 (2.17%) horses give a positive result with the Elisa test in Maysan governorate. Whereas negative horses for glanders included 180 (97.82%) in the south of Iraq, and that Basrah and Thi-Qar governorates were negatively against glanders. Such favorable result help for equestrian regions and horse breeding. It has been concluded that, although a very low infection rate was indicated in maysan governorate, However, Glanders could be re-emerging compared with other south governorates (Basrah and Thi-Qar) which being free. Moreover, Basrah and Thi-Qar governorates can be used as free areas.","PeriodicalId":218727,"journal":{"name":"Basrah Journal of Veterinary Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129171593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In former years, changeable expression of membrane antigens has been detected in a number of Mycoplasma spp., resulting in the assumption that immune prevarication may be an important part of the their infection and pathogenesis. It has been determined how the attachment organelle, which mediates the complicated interactions between various adhesins and auxiliary adhesion proteins to mediate the critical first stage of cytoadherence to respiratory tract epithelium. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that inflammatory cytokines cause tissue damage by intracellular localization, direct cytotoxicity, and activation of the inflammatory cascade via Toll-like receptors (TLRs), and inflammosome activation, which causes air passage inflammation. All of these play crucial roles in the infectious process. This paper seeks to provide a thorough assessment of recent developments in our understanding of Mycoplasma pathogenesis with the understanding of its virulence mechanisms.","PeriodicalId":218727,"journal":{"name":"Basrah Journal of Veterinary Research","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128909801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(MC) against pentylenetetrazole (PTZ) induced convulsions in chicks. A total of seventy-two chicks were randomly divided into six groups each one consisting of 12 chicks. The first group was considered to be a negative group that received subcutaneous injection of normal saline, the second group (positive control) received subcutaneous injection of PTZ (90 mg/kg), and the third group received sodium valproate (200 mg/kg) orally for six days. The other groups (fourth, fifth and sixth) were treated with single intraperitoneal injection of crude alkaloids extract of MC (20, 40, 80 mg/kg) respectively. After 30 minutes of the treatment, the groups (third to sixth) received PTZ and observed the convulsion signs for the next 30 minutes. At the end of the experiment, various biochemical parameters were assessed including, brain gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glutamate, serum catalase (CAT), glutathione reductase (GR), malondialdehyde (MDA), and 8-isoprostane, and some electrolytes (potassium K + , sodium Na + , chloride Cl - , ionized calcium iCa 2+ , total calcium TCa 2+ ), pH, and glucose levels in serum. The results indicated that the group treated with crude alkaloids extract at higher dose (80 mg/kg) showed a significant increase in CAT and significantly decreased in 8-isoprostane, and an increase in Na + ions concentration in serum. It was concluded that pretreatment of crude alkaloids extract (80 mg/kg) of MC offers anticonvulsant activity by reducing the mortality rate induced by PTZ, as well as it plays an important role in inhibiting oxidative stress.","PeriodicalId":218727,"journal":{"name":"Basrah Journal of Veterinary Research","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127608969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
