In this paper we use this technique to estimate quantitative measurements of the rapid growth of a bacteria population dictated by binary fission as well as to make predictions to anticipate and tackle down their possible scenarios of aggregation. We have used the theory of the Feynman diagrams in conjunction to the propagator. The resulting probabilities are interpreted as the ones that allows us to measure the growth of the population under certain physical conditions. Once the formalism is defined, we pass to calculate amplitudes of probability in taking the example 2→2 processes. With the types: termophile and mesophile, we provide various master equations in order to compute the net number of bacteria for a time of up to 20 hours. The final error of the model has been of order of 7.5%. Mainly of the uncertainty comes from the lack of interpretation of the parameters brought from the physics model.","PeriodicalId":217788,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Fourth Ecuador Technical Chapters Meeting (ETCM)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116649693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the advancement of Industry 4.0, smart factories, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPPS) currently are using as the controller during the manufacturing products process. This new approach results in new insights that can enhance decision-making processes and provide a competitive business advantage. This study deals with the implementation of CPPS using low-cost devices in a simulated factory to control the industrial process and integrate shop-floor communications using the AMQP (Advanced Message Queuing Protocol) protocol. In an era in which most CPPS-related studies are conducted on high-level abstract models, this study describes more specific architectural frameworks in a real process.","PeriodicalId":217788,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Fourth Ecuador Technical Chapters Meeting (ETCM)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115024515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, several techniques have been proposed to mitigate its effects. These techniques include the so-called opportunistic transmissions, which are characterized because the transmission of the information is made only when the instantaneous fading amplitude is above a threshold value. The performance of this kind of technique has been evaluated in different works employing square quadrature amplitude modulations (S-QAM). Unlike those works, the opportunistic transmission performance is evaluated considering non-square quadrature amplitude modulations (NS-QAM). In particular, 8-QAM and 32-QAM constellations are considered. The system model considers the presence of additive white Gaussian noise and flat and slow Rayleigh fading. The performance analysis is based on the mean bit error rate as a function of the signal-to-noise ratio. For this, Monte-Carlo simulations are carried out in some relevant scenarios. Additionally, comparisons between the performance of S-QAM and NS-QAM are also made.","PeriodicalId":217788,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Fourth Ecuador Technical Chapters Meeting (ETCM)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126091806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The denominated “learning tools” arise, which due to their self-explanatory and easy to use, allow personnel to acquire new skills and to improve their technical performance. Within these new tools of industrial learning, is the virtual reality (VR), whose functionality allows us to train personnel in order to solve emerging problems during the work process and overcome obstacles on the way to the next stage of the process. The development of virtual reality systems must adopt characteristics of software development methodologies. Each unit is integrated with an XBee S2B antenna to enable cost-effective and energy-efficient mesh capabilities for inter-unit communication when two or more units conform the system. Moreover, each unit is also an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device that transmits water-tank levels and sensor-data to a local supervising microcontroller (MCU) via Open Sound Control (OSC). This MCU is, in turn, capable of communication with a cloud-based data plotting / storing and remote-control platform—viz., Adafruit IO—via Message Queueing Telemetry Transport (MQTT). The interface with Adafruit IO enables a remote administrator (a) to monitor water-tank levels and sensor readings, and (b) to execute manual overrides in the system—for example, any or all of the units may be shut-down remotely. When only one unit conforms the system, its water-tank services the toilet-tanks and/or irrigation points connected to the unit. When two or more units conform the system, their water-tank outputs are physically linked, enabling any unit to contribute to the servicing of a variety of connected toilet-tanks and/or irrigation points. In both single or multi-unit configurations, water redistribution is impartial to any end-point at initialization, yet over time the system identifies which end-point(s) require(s) water with a higher frequency and selectively prioritizes servicing to it/them to guarantee prompt refill / supply. The present work is part of ongoing developments of features and services that attempt to imbue the builtenvironment with intelligence via Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).","PeriodicalId":217788,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Fourth Ecuador Technical Chapters Meeting (ETCM)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132718543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the OGTT, insulin and glucose levels are measured in five different blood samples: a sample in fasting (minute 0) and four others after oral intake of 75 gr. of glucose, at intervals of 30 minutes (minute 30, 60, 90 and 120). The values of glucose at 0 and 120 minutes from OGTT are used for the diagnosis of IFG and IGT, respectively. Several parameters had been used to diagnose the IGT and IFG, such as abdominal circumference, HOMA-IR, area under the curve of glucose during OGTT, among others. However, none of these studies have explored obtaining cut-off points from the area under the curve of insulin (AUCI) during OGTT for IGT and IFG diagnosis. For this propose a database of 172 subjects with values of glucose and insulin during OGTT was used. To assess the predictive capacity of AUCI the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were performed and it was calculated the area under the ROC curve (AUCROC), negative predictive value (NPV) and positive predictive value (PPV). The results show that AUCI can predict the IFG (AUCROC=0.71) and IGT (AUCROC=0.65). The AUCI can discriminate between the subjects that undergo IFG and IGT in concomitance from the subjects that only undergo one of the pathologies. All these findings suggested that AUCI could be used as a diagnostic method for IFG and IGT.","PeriodicalId":217788,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Fourth Ecuador Technical Chapters Meeting (ETCM)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116622884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
