An image collection system with a distributed architecture incorporating an embedded computer with a camera and a mobile robot equipped with a camera, a depth sensor and a microphone is developed. Face recognition using deep learning and artificial neural networks is applied on the gathered images. The performance of face recognition is investigated in terms of distance, size of the image set, activation mode, behaviour of the mobile robot and combination of the all components. Photoplethysmography methods can be categorized into two groups: contact and non-contact. An example of contact photoplethysmography is the fingertip pulse oximetre which is widely used in medical centers. In non-contact photoplethysmography, with the use of special or commonly used cameras, these parameters are extracted from the color changes especially around the face caused by heart beat. Our study has been conducted in three steps: In the first step, scale-space extrema of time series found through using SiZer (SIgnificant ZERo crossings of the derivatives) method and local features set constructed around the determined extreme points, based on interval-widths list entered by the user. In the second step, the values of descriptors have been computed around the prescribed scale-space extrema. In this study we have used mean, standard deviation and the slope of fitted regression line as descriptors for each interval and with the aid of these values bag-of-features has been constructed. In the third and the last step, after the obtained bag-of-features set clustered, the classification procedure has been completed by using random forest method. Error rates of the proposed method have been compared with the error rates of some widely-used methods by using UCR time series database and it is concluded that the obtained results are better by a majority. Additionally, songs can be prepared manually within the application or automatically by transforming guitar notes provided by Musical Intrument Digital Interface (MIDI) files into guitar tabs. Depending on this technology; spectrum management, spectrum sensing and spectrum handoff have emerged. In cognitive radio networks, how the frequency channels are to be assigned between users is at the top of the newsworthy topics. In addition, it is also the current topic to reduce the delay to the minimum in the spectrum handoff process. In the case of minimizing a value, optimization algorithms should be utilized. In recent times, the widely used artificial bee colony algorithm has an important place among all the optimization algorithms. In this study, firstly designed spectrum handoff model is presented and then artificial bee colony based spectrum handoff algorithm is developed. In the developed algorithm, the channel availability characteristic is examined based on the position of the bees in the artificial bee colony algorithm in order to optimize the spectrum handoff delay. The designed MIMO antenna has single element with quad-ports wideband for portable devices. The MIMO antenna involves a symmetrical four port microstrip feedline monopole patch antenna with single radiating component and a frame-shaped partial ground plane. The designed MIMO antenna was modeled and simulated using CST's simulation software and then the antenna prototype was fabricated and measured. The results indicated that the measurement results were found to be in a reasonably fair agreement with simulation results. Both simulation and measurement results were used to verify the MIMO antennae's performance parameters; the operating bandwidth was found to be 2–3.0 GHz with reflection coefficients lower than −10dB and isolation below −12 db. In this study, we propose a multi-modal video classification method based on the feature-level fusion of audio-visual signals. In the proposed method, we extract Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) and convolutional neural network (CNN) features from the audio and visual parts of the video signal, respectively and calculate three statistical representations of the MFCC feature vectors. We perform feature level fusion of both modalities using the concatenation operator and train Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers using these multimodal features. We evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed method on the TRECVID video performance dataset for both single- and multi-modal cases. In the scope of this paper, the studies about the authentication of the objects and the confidentiality of the data have been examined, some suggestions have been made against the identified security vulnerabilities. In the scope of this paper, as the test environment, Mosquitto, the server of the MQTT protocol, and MongoDB in order to store the data were installed.
