One microscopic parameter that is of great interest is the speed of sound, especially the upper bound on it. This work is based on the idea to examine possible constraints on the speed of sound by using neutron stars. For this purpose, in our study, we use the observed effective tidal deformability from binary neutron star systems as a tool to impose constraints on the equation of state through the upper bound on the speed of sound. In our approach, we parametrize the stiffness of the equation of state by using the speed of sound, for various transition density values. The two recent observations of binary neutron star mergers from LIGO/VIRGO have been used to impose robust constraints. Furthermore, we extended our study in the hypothetical scenario of a very massive neutron star by using the recent observation of the GW190814 event. The possibility of the existence of such a massive non-rotating neutron star cannot be excluded according to our study. Furthermore, we postulate what kind of future observations would be useful to impose more stringent constraints on the properties of the equation of state.","PeriodicalId":217381,"journal":{"name":"Bulgarian Journal of Physics","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132088149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, the ground-state properties of the platinum isotopic chain, 160−238Pt are studied within the covariant density functional theory. The calculations are carried out for a large number of eveneven Pt isotopes by using the density-dependent point-coupling and the density dependent meson-exchange effective interactions. Several ground-state properties such as the binding energy, separation energy and quadrupole deformation are discussed and compared with available experimental data, and with the predictions of some nuclear models such as the Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) model with NL3∗ functional and the Hartree Fock Bogoliubov (HFB) method with UNEDF0 Skyrme force. The shape phase transition for Pt isotopic chain is also studied.","PeriodicalId":217381,"journal":{"name":"Bulgarian Journal of Physics","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131912883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The calculations are performed with superfluid formalism using the single-particle energies obtained with the Woods-Saxon potential. The influence of shell effects on energy dependence of the ratios of leveldensity parameters corresponding to the residues of considered decay modes to those of neutron emission is analyzed. The effect of collective enhancement of level densities on the level-density parameter ratios is studied. In the case of alpha decay, we identified the collective enhancement caused by cluster degrees of freedom to play an important role.","PeriodicalId":217381,"journal":{"name":"Bulgarian Journal of Physics","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123213600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
