Candida albicans is one of the infectious pathogens that can cause cross-infection in dentistry. One example is the manufacture of working models of gypsum material, which can cause cross-infection from patients to dentists or technicians, so it is necessary to control infection by means of disinfection of type III gypsum material work models. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of soaking type III Gypsum in a 0.5% Sodium hypochlorite and 2% Povidone Iodine solution against the growth of Candida albicans. Methods: A laboratory experiment with a total of 21 samples, consisting of 7 samples for each group. The sample is made of a type III gypsum plate measuring 2 x 1 x 0.5 cm. The sample consisted of 3 groups: treatment 1, treatment 2, and treatment 3. The study used the diffusion method. Gypsum plate type III was contaminated with Candida albicans and then immersed in a solution of sterile distilled water (C), 0.5% sodium hypochlorite (P1), and 2% povidone-iodine (P2). The soaking results were planted in SDA media, incubated for 2x24 hours, and then counted using a colony counter. The data were analyzed using Kruskal- Wallis and Mann-Whitney post hoc analyses. Results: In the Kruskal- Wallis analysis of significance (p), between each group, there was a significant difference (p<0.05). The Mann-Whitney post hoc analysis test showed a correlation between group K and P1 and P2 (p<0.05). Penumpatan pada kavitas di area servikal seringkali mengalami kegagalan sehingga memicu terjadinya kebocoran mikro. Resin komposit flowable dan RM-GIC seringkali dijadikan pilihan sebagai bahan restorasi kavitas pada area servikal. Aplikasi air abrasion sebelum penumpatan dapat meningkatkan ikatan antara bahan restorasi dengan struktur gigi. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik air abrasion terhadap kebocoran mikro lesi servikal non karies dengan bahan restorasi resin komposit flowable dan RM-GIC. Metode: Sebanyak 28 sampel gigi premolar dipreparasi membentuk kavitas pada area servikal. Sampel secara acak dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok (n=7). Kelompok I: teknik air abrasion (Aquacare Twin, Velopex International, London, UK) dengan bahan restorasi resin komposit flowable (Filtek, 3M USA), Kelompok II: teknik air abrasion dengan bahan restorasi RM-GIC (Fuji II LC, Japan), Kelompok III: bahan restorasi resin komposit flowable tanpa teknik air abrasion, Kelompok IV: bahan restorasi RM-GIC tanpa teknik air abrasion. Kebocoran mikro dinilai menggunakan dye penetration method dan diobservasi menggunakan stereomicroscope (ZEISS Stemi 305, German) dengan perbesaran 20x. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan Kruskal-wallis test dan uji komparasi dengan Mann-Whitney test. Hasil: Kelompok perlakuan bahan restorasi resin komposit flowable dengan aplikasi teknik air abrasion menghasilkan kebocoran mikro paling rendah (p<0,05) dibandingkan dengan kelompok lainnya. Tidak ada perbedaan bermakna antara kelompok perlakuan bahan restorasi RM-GIC dengan aplikasi teknik air abrasion dan RM-GIC tanpa aplikasi teknik air abrasion (p≥0,05). The aim of this study was to estimate the CBCT knowledge level held by dental profession student at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The design of this study was a cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study using a questionnaire for collecting the data. The study included 385 dental profession student from the class of 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. The results showed that the percentage of students correctly identifying CBCT as a form of ionizing radiation radiography and CBCT's advantages over conventional CT was 52.2% and 48.1%, respectively. The percentage of students correctly identifying CBCT hardware 45.2%, CBCT con angle 64.4%, patient preparation 38.4%, and patient position was 36.6%, while only 24.2% of students correctly answered CBCT acquisition time.
