{"title":"Preparation of polymer/hollow carbon spheres/platinum catalysts and its performance study","authors":"Mariyam Niyaz, Xiong Liu, Fangfei Liu, Tursun Abdiryim, Ruxangul Jamal","doi":"10.1360/ssc-2022-0259","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1360/ssc-2022-0259","url":null,"abstract":": Binary complex carriers containing heteroatom-conjugated polymers (Poly(EPE) or Poly(BPE)) and double-layered hollow carbon nanospheres (DLHCs) with different contents were prepared by in situ oxidative polymerization using the heterocyclic triplets containing nitrogen and sulfur (the structure was capped with 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene and pyridazine as intermediate unit) as monomers. The structures and electrochemical properties of all binary compounds were characterized by UV-vis and CV, respectively, and Poly(EPE)/30 wt% DLHCs and Poly(BPE)/50 wt% DLHCs were identified as the complexes with the best ratio of monomer to inorganic phase. Subsequently, Pt NPs were loaded into this complex matrix to obtain Poly(EPE)/DLHCs/Pt and Poly(BPE)/DLHCs/Pt composites. The effect of polymer-modified carbon materials, which containing pyridazine and pyridine rings as catalyst support, on the catalytic oxidation properties of methanol as well as the relationship between structure and performance were investigated.
