Consideration of behavioral strategies in difficult situations from the point of view of choosing an effective strategy for conflict resolution is associated with the issue of forming interpersonal interaction competencies. In our opinion, the emotional state of a person and the emotional maturity formed are of great importance in resolving conflict situations within the framework of effective interaction. The purpose of the study is to identify the correlations between the choice of behavior strategies in conflict and the emotional maturity of education undergraduates. Materials and Methods. The study involved 99 first-year undergraduates at the Ural State Pedagogical University. In order to identify respondents' orientation towards certain forms of behavior in a conflict situation, the Thomas-Kilmenn questionnaire was used. In order to identify the level and structural components of the individual's emotional maturity, the authors used O. S. Kocharyan and M.A. Piven’s inventory for emotional maturity assessment. Results. The results of the study confirmed the existence of correlations between the most frequently chosen strategies of behavior in conflict and the components of the emotional maturity of future teachers. The results of the empirical study also include the identification of three behavioral strategies in a conflict situation: individually oriented (high severity of the strategy of competition in conflict and low severity of the strategy of adaptation), passive-adaptive (a high degree of severity of the strategies of avoidance and adaptation and a low severity of the Rivalry strategy), reciprocity-oriented (a high severity of the compromise and cooperation strategies and a low severity of the Rivalry strategy). Conclusions. The results obtained can be used to design programs aimed at developing effective ways of interpersonal interaction.","PeriodicalId":21621,"journal":{"name":"Science for Education Today","volume":"295 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76881967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, the problem of keeping schoolchildren healthy is acute. One of the leading risk factors for the health of schoolchildren is nutrition, in the organization of which much attention has recently been paid to the inclusion of special foods that help prevent diet-related diseases. The White Sea brown alga, Laminaria digitata, has been shown to be a natural source of bioactive compounds. However, the mechanisms of the kinetics of health-promoting effects during long-term dietary intake of Laminaria digitata are poorly studied which makes it difficult to solve practical problems in the use of products and dishes containing Laminaria digitata for health purposes. The purpose of this research is to study the biological effects of Laminaria digitata in a 28-day experiment in white Wistar rats to address practical issues of justifying food formulation and food processing for school nutrition, and to assess the risk of side effects. Materials and Methods. The study used dry concentrates of Laminaria digitata. The sample comprised white Wistar rats divided into 4 groups of 10 animals each. The animals were examined on the 14th and 28th days of the experiment using standard methods. The experiment was conducted in accordance with the rules adopted in the European Convention for the Protection of Animals Used for Experimental Scientific Purposes (Strasburg, 1986), after approval by the Ethics Committee of Novosibirsk Research Hygiene Institute. The statistical processing of the research materials was performed using Statistica 10.0. Results. The analysis of the dynamics of the indicators showed the stages of the interaction process of the organism with bioactive substances contained in the brown alga Laminaria digitata. Strengthening of stress-protective, antihypercholesterolemic effects and metabolic function of the liver at the stage of primary reactions is replaced by a significant weakening at the stage of physiological adaptation. The bioavailability of a form of iodine accumulated by the brown algae Laminaria digitata has been experimentally confirmed. The assessment of biological significance consisted of classifying the effects manifested using benefit and safety criteria. Conclusions. Based on the results of the experiment, new knowledge was gained on the criteria for the usefulness and safety of Laminaria digitata algae, which can be used to solve practical problems of proving the quantitative values of the inclusion of Laminaria digitata as an ingredient in recipes and to solve practical problems with Laminaria digitata enriched food production technologies in the development of school meals, the inclusion of which in students' diets minimizes the risk of diet-related diseases.","PeriodicalId":21621,"journal":{"name":"Science for Education Today","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88462050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article examines the problem of digital transformation of modern society and education, which significantly affects the efficiency and effectiveness of the cognitive development of the individual. The aim of the study is to identify the determining factors for the development of cognitive abilities under the current conditions of digitization of educational processes. Materials and Methods. The methodology of the research includes a content analysis and reviewing international and Russian research papers that consider the problems of information development of society, evaluate the development of the education system in the current conditions, determining the specifics of the influence of digital content on cognitive processes. Results. The authors consider the factors and interrelations of cognitive and emotional, motivational, linguistic, creative components of development; determine the impact of metacognitive/systemic skills in the current conditions of digitalization of educational processes. It is noted that an important factor determining the development of cognitive abilities at a higher level in the conditions of digitization of educational processes is the creation of an appropriate educational environment that takes into account the psychophysiological age-related characteristics and helps to increase motivation and cognitive activity. It is indicated that the digitalization of educational processes significantly changes the ways of communication and the language environment. It is shown that modern cognition is directly related to the language of information development of society. At the same time, the digitalization of educational processes primarily determines the language transformation and the formation of new mechanisms for the assimilation of information. It is emphasized that the digitalization of educational processes determines the need for the formation of metacognitive abilities and universal competencies, which primarily include systematic thinking. Conclusions. The authors have revealed the main factors and interrelations of the effectiveness and efficiency of cognitive development in the current conditions of digitalization of educational processes.","PeriodicalId":21621,"journal":{"name":"Science for Education Today","volume":"57 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81829142","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article examines biosocial correction of the psycho-emotional status and behavior of individuals with high levels of neuropsychological stress. The purpose of the article is to reveal the psychophysiological criteria of human functional states, to summarize the data from scholarly literature and experimental research, and to propose and substantiate the psychophysiological correction method to ensure biosocial safety. Materials and Methods. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study was the psychophysiological approach and its basic principles. Psychophysiological examinations included electroencephalography, computer testing of psychomotor reactions of varying complexity (D. A. Morocco), self-assessment of activity, well-being and mood indicators (Doskin’s inventory), Spielberger’s State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, as well as indicators of heart rate structure variability (R. M. Bayevsky). The research sample consisted of undergraduates and postgraduates aged between 18 and 28 years (n = 37, 24 ± 3 years). The participants were distributed into two groups. The first group comprised individuals regularly engaged in psychophysical self–regulation; the second group consisted of people who were not engaged in psychophysical self–regulation . Statistical processing of the obtained results was conducted using a computer package of application programs Statistica 10.0 and SPSS. Results. The article provides a theoretical overview and experimental data on the problem of biosocial causes of inadequate reactions of individuals with a high level of neuropsychological stress. The possibilities of biosocial correction of psycho-emotional status and human behavior are shown. The study has revealed the improvements in functional state of optimal adaptation after regular classes on the theory and practice of self-regulation techniques, including relaxation. The authors summarized current indicators of psychophysiological status and demonstrated the effectiveness of remedial training in restoring the optimal neuropsychological status required for an individual's biosocial safety. Conclusions. The article concludes that in order to ensure the biosocial security of an individual, it is necessary to teach methods of psychophysical self-regulation in order to normalize the psychophysical state, reduce the level of neuropsychological stress, and, consequently, the risks of non-adaptive behavior, which is particularly important for young adults.","PeriodicalId":21621,"journal":{"name":"Science for Education Today","volume":"304 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83444722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article examines the problem of low learning outcomes of schoolchildren in the modern education system. The purpose of the article is to identify and summarize the ways of overcoming students’ academic failure from the standpoint of foreign and Russian studies for their use at schools. Materials and Methods. To achieve the aim of the review, 63 full-text sources were analyzed. The study used general research methods of theoretical knowledge, thematic content analysis, synthesis of theoretical foundations, and comparative method for identifying and summarizing research on ways of overcoming students’ academic failure in foreign and Russian theory and practice and their use at schools. The generalization of the research results was based of the systematic approach. Results. Analysis of the studies has shown that in order to overcome student failure at school, it is necessary to introduce practical methods in schools that will bring about a reduction in the level of unsuccessful students. Schools' work to involve parents in their children's education and school activities (engagement at home, engagement at school, academic socialization) has a positive impact on reducing student failure at school. A special role of the parent community is to develop students’ motivation to learn. The work of schools to integrate formal and non-formal education expands the educational space and contributes to overcoming school failure, developing the emotional, intellectual, communicative sphere, educational motivation and social advancement of students. The use of various forms of mentoring in schools mainly leads to the design of programs for students' personal growth, building their own professional path of self-development and developing motivation for learning. Using international experience in applying developmental programs in Russian schools will ensure equalization of starting opportunities for students with low socio-economic status. Conclusions. The review concludes that the introduction of ways to overcome the academic failure (parental involvement, supplementary education, using various forms of mentoring and international practices of developmental education programs) in the school practice will contribute to reducing the rate of student failure in school.","PeriodicalId":21621,"journal":{"name":"Science for Education Today","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87243007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article is devoted to the problem of insufficient theoretical justification of modeling career guidance in the education system of the region, primarily to identifying foundations of goal-setting. The aim of the study is to identify the features of the leading targets in modeling career guidance in the education system of the region, and to consider the possibility of their simultaneous use in the modeling of career guidance in the education system of the region. Materials and Methods. The study follows paradigmatic, socio-pedagogical and learner-centered approaches. The authors summarize and integrate educational, psychological and sociological theoretical ideas on the problem of this research. Methods of theoretical analysis, comparison, generalization, analysis of infographic representations of models of career guidance are used in order to solve the research problem. Results. Literature analysis enabled the authors to identify the leading constructs used as the basis of goal-setting in the models of career guidance in the educational system of the region (choosing a career, professional self-determination, career growth, professionalism), and to clarify their content characteristics. The construct ‘choosing a career’ focuses on a personal specific result; ‘professional self-determination’ deals with the process of personal and professional development through making meaningful decisions, involving a possibility of a career choice. ‘Career growth’ concentrates on the process of movement to social understanding of profession success. ‘Professionalism’ implies self-transformation in the interests of the profession not only in terms of technological readiness, but also personal compliance and moral attitudes. The authors proposed a way of coordinating the main targets of modeling career guidance in the education system of the region: a) the ideal goal (strategic goal) is defined through the formation of professionalism (at the personal level); orientation to career planning and career growth (in broad connotations) can be included in the structure of professionalism; b) the goal as the expected result of career guidance practices (tactical goal) is defined through professional self-determination. Conclusions. The authors conclude that the appropriate selection of target foundations contribute to clarifying qualitative characteristics of career guidance models in the education system of the region. Based on selecting leading constructs within the target setting, a typology of regional models and evaluation of their qualitative effectiveness can be made. The variants of combining leading constructs allow to define priorities, which determine the main direction and specifies organizational and methodological content of the model.","PeriodicalId":21621,"journal":{"name":"Science for Education Today","volume":"44 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75317853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main intellectual competence of IT professionals includes culture of thinking, the ability to generalize, analyze, and perceive information. But what do we mean by the culture of thinking today? If it is based on consistency and creativity, as leading IT-companies require from university graduates, it immediately indicates the complexity and even inconsistency of the requirements for the expected qualities of thinking from newly-qualified professionals. Because, on the one hand, they need to be able to systematize the available data into a certain structure; on the other hand, they have to abandon the existing one and achieve a fundamentally different solution. The purpose of this article is to identify the core of thinking tools in professional practice and describe precisely them using set-theoretical analysis. Materials and Methods. We proceed from the fact that thinking, as a part of the nature of reality, reaches the level required for professional practice when it satisfies at least three conditions: stability, accuracy and completeness of the description of a particular system or process. Since we cannot extract thinking from historical and cultural way of cognition, which is sometimes called an episteme, it is necessary, first of all, to rely on examples of such a context as the evolution of the linguistic state of the human population and the evolution of the architecture of the design of distributed systems in the information space. The mathematical basis is taken from the experience of teaching and using the set-theoretical method in mathematics disciplines within computer fields of study. Results. Within the framework of the proposed methodology, some important tools of professional thinking are formulated in the precise language of computer science. The structures of stable retention of objective thinking, the accuracy of retention of meaning, the minimum completeness of the system, bricolage and the option of the basic figure of creativity visualization are described. This methodology allows to see the logic of branching in the evolution of different languages, as well as the logic of the evolution of software systems. Conclusions. The set-theoretical tools of thinking reveal the logic within the development of distributed systems in the modern information environment and, apparently, significantly affect the tools of thinking in various fields of knowledge.","PeriodicalId":21621,"journal":{"name":"Science for Education Today","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73854235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main problem of the article lies in the search for optimal and objective principles and methods for assessing vocational education teachers’ soft-competencies, as well as valid diagnostic tools. The purpose of the article is to evaluate the vocational education teachers’ soft-competencies and to identify correlations between them. Materials and Methods. The research methodology is based on the principles of a competency-based approach to education (D. C. McClelland, A.-K. Koenen, F Dochy, W. Lambrechts, etc.). To assess the teachers’ soft-competencies, a set of diagnostic tools was developed and used during the pilot study from March 21 to July 17, 2022 (n=132), consisting of the following components: a motivational questionnaire; a business game (includes self-presentation, solution of a universal case, group discussion); a set of tests (for intelligence, an individual psychological questionnaire, etc.). The study applied a methodological approach to assessing the vocational education teachers’ soft-competencies with the help of the Assessment Center, which involves complex diagnostics, including both standardized tests, self-reports, cases, and observation of real behavior. The analysis of the results obtained was carried out using the methods of statistical (descriptive statistics, measures of data scatter, normal distribution) and correlation analysis (nonparametric correlation coefficient r-Spearman) using the IBM SPSS Statistics 24 software. Results. The findings show that the most developed soft-competencies include the ability for self-organization and self-development, as well as the ability to communicate. The remaining competencies are at the basic level and are used only within the framework of solving familiar, standard problems. Statistically significant positive correlations were found between the ability for systemic and critical thinking and the ability to communicate; between the readiness to become a leader in the educational community and the ability to communicate. Statistically significant negative correlation was found between the willingness to accept personal responsibility and the ability to communicate. Conclusions. Conclusions are drawn that there is a risk associated with the human resources potential of teachers in the vocational education system: soft-competencies are at the threshold level of development, and even with the potential for self-development formed, it will take time, additional development programs and systematic work to support vocational education teachers.","PeriodicalId":21621,"journal":{"name":"Science for Education Today","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78627525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
