Con los estudios que se han realizado bajo estas perspectivas, en el desarrollo de investigaciones se observa ya como una práctica recurrente la arqueología de superficie y en el caso del Estado de Veracruz no es la excepción, la Cuenca del Papaloapan cuenta con exploraciones arqueológicas que permiten conocer parte del desarrollo socio cultural de la región.SURFACE ARCHEOLOGY IN THE PAPALOAPAN BASIN,VERACRUZ ABSTRACTFrom the second half of the last century the perspective on archeology has changed, it is no longer perceived as an activity of collecting objects to make way for true interpretations regarding life and past culture, for this it required technical changes, methodological and of course epistemological, is how surface archeology becomes important. With the studies that have been carried out under these perspectives, in the development of investigations, surface archeology is already a recurrent practice and in the case of the State of Veracruz it is not the exception, the Papaloapan Basin has archaeological explorations that allow know part of the socio-cultural development of theregion. Prospecções foram efetuadas nas proximidades do abrigo rochoso, no interesse particular de se identificar jazidas fontes dos pigmentos minerais das pinturas rupestres. A composição químico-mineralógica dos ocres foi correlacionada com os dados correspondentes aos dos materiais minerais oriundos das jazidas do entorno e das camadas de tintas das pinturas rupestres das superfícies areníticas decoradas do sítio. Os resultados obtidos mostram evidências de que os ocres fontes dos pigmentos das pinturas rupestres foram originalmente enriquecidos, na preparação arqueológica, por concentração das espécies oxídicas ferruginosas e aluminosas, às expensas da redução quantitativa dos minerais silicatados, do material precursor diretamente retirado das jazidas.CHEMICAL-MINERALOGICAL ANALYSIS OF OCHRES AND THE SEARCH FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL CORRELATIONS WITH THE PIGMENTS OF RUPESTRIAN PAINTINGS OF THE SITE PEDRA DO CANTAGALO IABSTRACTThis archaeometric work was devoted to the chemical-mineralogical characterization of red and yellow ochres of the archaeological site Pedra do Cantagalo I, Piripiri, Piauí. Field surveys were made in the neighboring of the rocky shelter, seeking for any apparent evidence signalizing the mineral source of such mineral pigments. The chemicalmineralogical composition of the ochres was correlated with corresponding data obtained from analyzing the nature of the minerals from the surrounding deposits and from the paint layers of the rupestrian paintings on the decorated sandstone surfaces of this archaeological site. Essa ocorrência de Arte Pré-histórica se caracteriza como um bloco de Basalto a céu aberto, em contexto fluvial, com gravuras geométricas realizadas com diferentes técnicas: picoteado, inciso e polimento. A pertinência da pesquisa pesa principalmente na divulgação para a comunidade científica das características técnicas inéditas inerentes as gravuras rupestres que compõem a ocorrência arqueológica. Outra questão em aberto é sobre a possibilidade de as mesmas serem resultados de ações naturais. Essa pesquisa está inserida na problemática arqueológica do Brasil Meridional, onde sítios com arte rupestre apresentam diversificados tipos geométricos sem clara definição tecno-tipológica e cultural. Assim, neste artigo buscamos dar visibilidade a composição, e técnicas de confecção e sua relação com as tradições rupestres descritas para o Sul do Brasil e inseridas na problemática de pesquisa do projeto Arqueologia Entre Rios: do Urussanga ao Mampituba, (AERUM). THE OCCURRENCE OF PRE-HISTORICAL ART MALACARA I: Technical and Typological Considerations ABSTRACTThe objective of this article is to present the registration, mapping and analysis of the techniques and typologies contained in the archaeological occurrence denominated as Malacara I. This occurrence of Prehistoric Art is characterized as a basalt block in the open, in river context, with geometric engravings performed with different techniques: pecking, incision and polishing. The pertinence of the research weighs mainly in the dissemination to the scientific community of the unpublished technical characteristics inherent to the rock engravings that compose the archaeological occurrence. Another open question is about the possibility that they are the results of natural actions. Identificar essas transformações foi o objetivo principal desta pesquisa. CONSTRUCTIVE PROFILE OF PORTUGUESE FORTIFICATIONS IN CAPITANIA OF PERNAMBUCO FROM 1630 TO 1654: Dutch occupation period ABSTRACTThe constructive profile of three fortifications of the Captaincy of Pernambuco in the first decades of the 17th Century, before the Dutch occupation, revealed, through two remnants (Forte de São Francisco da Barra, 1606, and Fort de São Francisco de Olinda, 1620) and of iconographies (Fort de São Jorge, 1590), that these constructions were influenced by models described in European fortification treaties. Moreover, adaptations to the reality of material, labor, resources and colonizing posture have imposed certain restrictions and adaptations. Os resultados das pesquisas já efetuadas de datações com gravuras rupestres no Brasil indicam ocupações no período holocênico e persistência temporal com essa técnica de execução no mesmo suporte rochoso, além da reutilização, através de reavivamentos nas mesmas simbologias, por grupos gráficos posteriores.ROCK ENGRAVING DATES IN BRAZIL: methods and archaelogical research ABSTRACTThis article aims to highlight the methods currently used to obtain dates related to rock engravings, elaborating a framework of archaeological research, both at the world level and at the Brazilian level, aimed at obtaining chronologies from the previous human occupations that were dedicated the engraved symbolic creations. A área está localizada na Serra do Espinhaço Meridional, mais precisamente em sua face leste (Serra Negra), nordeste de Minas Gerais, na bacia do Araçuaí, municípios de Felício dos Santos e de Senador Modestino Gonçalves. O abrigo no 7 foi escavado por uma equipe multidisciplinar com a intenção de obter datas e repertório cultural para posteriores análises e discussões com os resultados de outros sítios regionais escavados. Logo, o sítio Três Fronteiras no 7 obteve data de 4100 ± 30 anos AP. situando sua ocupação durante o Holoceno Médio, resultado comum para outros abrigos locais. TRÊS FRONTEIRAS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE No 7: A Shelter of The Mid-Holocene in the Araçuaí River Basin, Minas GeraisABSTRACTThe objective of this article is to summarize the interventions so far carried out within the Três Fronteiras Archaeological Complex, composed by 16 quartzite rock shelters with outstanding evidences of human occupation. The area is located in the eastern border of the southern Espinhaço range (Serra Negra), in which is drained by the Araçuaí river basin, in the municipalities of Felício dos Santos and Senador Modestino Gonçalves, Minas Gerais. The shelter no 7 was excavated by a multidisciplinary team with the intention of obtaining ages and material culture for further analysis and comparison with other archaeological sites. The oldest evidence of occupation within the site was dated in 4100 ± 30 yr BP.
