To improve the current statistics of distribution and consumption the Smart grid brought out a scheme providing the consumer higher control over the power generation and distribution thus increasing the responsibility of the consumer making them more vigilant and providing for sustainable development. Smart Grid improvises the conventional grid on various levels which calls forth the requirement for sophisticated controls carried out in various levels namely, primary, secondary, and tertiary. This paper deals with the intelligence associated with the primary and secondary levels placed in regard with the consumer and micro-grid operation. This paper involves the boosting of DC output of the solar panel by Super-Lift Luo Boost Converter. The converter employs the Super-Lift technique to obtain the boosted output voltage. The output voltage of the Super-Lift Luo Boost converter increases in geometric progression. The Super-Lift Luo converter enhances the voltage transfer gain in power series. Thus after DC/DC conversion, the boosted output voltage is fed to the inverter wherein it is converted into AC voltage. The inverter AC output voltage can now be used to drive the AC loads. An extensive simulation of Super-lift Luo Boost Converter is conducted on the basis of reference values in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The conventional heat pipes such as copper grooved heat pipes and sintered particle heat pipes have played an important role in the heat dissipation in electronic equipment. Pulsating heat pipe (PHP) is a new type of efficient heat transfer device, which was introduced in the mid-1990s by Akachi. PHP can be used for cooling of electronics because of its potential for removing high heat flux. The capillary effect is indeed provided by the small dimension of the channel, and not by the presence of a wick structure. An experimental study was conducted to investigate heat transfer performance of a closed loop pulsating heat pipe with pure water and aqueous solution of butanol (self-rewetting fluid) under various filing ratios, inclination angles and heat inputs. Self-rewetting fluids have a property that the surface tension increase with increase in temperature. Butanol is added to pure water at 0.1 wt% and 0.5 wt% concentrations to make self-rewetting fluid. The PHP is made of copper tube with inner and outer diameters of 2.0 mm and 3.0 mm, respectively. It is observed that lower thermal resistance is obtained by using aqueous solution of butanol compared with pure water. The advantage of this system is that there is no need of a sun tracker. Firstly, the experimental work is done by comparing the performance of two evacuated tube collectors, out of which one is equipped with a CPR at the bottom surface. Secondly, an ANSYS simulation is done to find the effect of thermal loss on the performance of the system. For almost all of the SWH which are commercially available, only the top portion of the evacuated pipe is used for absorbing the solar radiation. The shaded portion remains unused. A CPR uses a mirror in the shape of a compound parabola to reflect and concentrate sun radiations towards a receiver tube located at the focus line of the compound parabolic reflector. Thus the whole cylindrical surface of the evacuated pipe is made useful and the absorber surface absorbs the incoming radiations and transforms them into thermal energy. Thermal losses will occur mainly due to radiation and even though the system uses an evacuated tube collector, a small amount of loss occurs due to convection. Accelerometer sensor is mounted on hand. The sensor mounted on your hand will judge the movement of hand in a particular direction. This project develops the hand movement monitoring system which feeds the data into the computer and gives the 3D visualization of accelerometer according to pitch, yaw and roll motions of accelerometer. These motors are reliable, robust, high power/mass ratio and economic, hence replaced all other motors in the industry, so even minute increment in induction motor efficiency can have a major impact on consumption of electricity and saving of revenue, globally. This paper utilizes, a combination of two key concepts of efficiency optimization-loss model control (LMC) and search control (SC) for efficient operation of induction motors used in various industrial applications, in aforesaid load condition. At first, to estimate optimal Ids values for various load conditions, an optimal Ids expression in terms of machine parameters and load parameters, based on machine loss model in d-q frame along with classical optimization technique, is utilized. Secondly, an offline trained artificial neural network (ANN) controller is used to reproduce the optimal Ids values, in run-time load condition. This eliminates run-time computations and perturbation for optimal flux, as in conventional SC method. The (ANN) optimal controller is designed for optimal Ids as output, while providing load torque and speed information as inputs. The training is performed in MATLAB and good accuracy of the training model is seen. Dynamic and steady-state performances are compared for proposed optimal (optimal Ids) operations and conventional vector operations (constant Ids), with the help of a simulation model, developed in MATLAB. Excellent dynamic response in load transients as well as superior efficiency performance (1- 18%) at steady-state, for a wide range of speed and torque in simulation is attained. A MOSFET based bridge inverter is chosen and the pulses are produced using Digital Signal Processor (DSP) TMS320f28335. Using the embedded coder tool box, the Simulink model is compiled and programmed with the software Code Composer Studio (CCS) which is a compiler and programmer. The pulses from the DSP are fed to the DCI Bridge with an Optocoupler isolation unit. The output of the inverter is fed to the Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) drive for the analysis. The advantage of MG system includes optimum utilization of available resources to maximum benefit in this aspect selection of source which can selected in a logical and cognitive way. In this regard AHP MCDM was used to select sources which can optimally use the available resources. The study developed and index which uses 9 input parameters to estimate the suitability of sources for utilization of MG system.
