Therefore, for more successful language learning the relationships between both of them are required to investigate. In this study, particularly the relationships between home literacy practices and school performance in bilingual and multilingual contexts have demonstrated. A variety of literacy practices involving family literacy practices, community cultural literacy, and social background were discussed. A number of studies showed that family literacy practices in first and second languages influence language learners’ literacy learning and school performance positively or negatively.
