One of the efforts that could be done to overcome muscle weakness in stroke patients was the Range Of Motion (ROM) exercise which could be done independently or assisted by health workers. The purpose of this literature review was to identify the effect of range of motion (ROM) exercise in increasing muscle strength in stroke patients. This study used a descriptive method with a literature review approach. The search strategy used six international journal databases: PubMed, JSTOR, Wiley Online Library, Sage Journal, ScienceDirect, and Taylor & Francis Online. In addition, a search was conducted on one national journal database, namely Google Scholar. The selection was conducted by assessing articles that met the inclusion criteria, such as publication range from 2005-2021, in English, Indonesian, and other languages that can be translated and opened full access text. After the selection process, nine articles that met the inclusion criteria were obtained, with 197 respondents assigned randomly and grouped into 58 control groups, 55 intervention groups, 84 combined groups. The results showed that the ROM exercise method positively affected increasing muscle strength in stroke patients. Based on these results, it could be concluded that this nurse's independent intervention needed to be carried out in stroke patients to increase muscle strength","PeriodicalId":214399,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nursing and Health Services (IJNHS)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133108193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Alternative treatment of diabetes mellitus with complementary therapies, namely acupressure and smart gymnastic, can improve the fasting blood sugar level. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of acupressure and smart gymnastic on fasting blood sugar levels among patients with type II diabetes mellitus. True experimental study pretest and post-test with non-equivalent control group design were applied in this study. Repeated Measure, ANOVA test, showed a significant difference with the mean fasting blood sugar level p-value 0.000 (<0.05). The intervention group is better at lowering fasting blood sugar levels than control group 1 and control group 2 seen from the higher value difference. Conclusion of acupressure therapy with smart gymnastics three times a week for four weeks effectively reduces fasting blood sugar level in a patient with type II diabetes mellitus. This study can be used as a reference for further research, with a larger sample size, controlling the patient's diet, and a longer duration of intervention, so that the results obtained are more valid.","PeriodicalId":214399,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nursing and Health Services (IJNHS)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130157246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consumption of vegetables and fruit in adolescents is very important to support growth and good health status, if teenagers consume less vegetables and fruits are at risk of experiencing degenerative diseases that usually appear in adulthood. One of the problems in the juvenile phase is the lack of consumption of vegetables and fruits which are influenced by internal and external factors. Several factors related to the adequacy of vegetable and fruit consumption in adolescents include: characteristics, socioeconomic, and social support (family and peers). The research problem is how is the socio-economic relationship with the consumption of vegetables and fruits. The aim of the study was to examine socio-economic relations with consumption of vegetables and fruit students. This research is quantitative using a cross-sectional research design. The study was conducted at the State Vocational School 1 Percut Sei Tuan in Deli Serdang District. The samples were all students of class X and class XI Department of Software Engineering State Vocational High School 1 Percut Sei Tuan Deli Serdang Regency in 2018 amounting to 97 people. Data collection tool uses a questionnaire. The test used is chi-square (bivariate). The chi-square test results show that there is no a relationship between socioeconomic with vegetable  consumption (p>0.05), whereas peer support there is relationship with vegetable consumption (p<0.05) and there is a relationship between socioeconomic (income household permonth, pocket money, vegetable available) and peer support with fruit consumptio (p<0.05). Researchers suggest that families, especially parents, continue to control adolescents, including peers and in terms of consumption of vegetable and fruit both at home and outside the home.","PeriodicalId":214399,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nursing and Health Services (IJNHS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128401958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of procedures and supervision on the quality medical records for inpatient. This research is survey research with explanatory research design. The research was conducted at Imelda Hospital. The research population was 238 people and the sample was 100 people. The sampling technique is stratified random sampling which divides the population into homogeneous groups (strata) proportionally: 21 doctors, 65 nurses, and 14 medical records officers, from each stratum a random sample is taken. Data analysis using univariate, bivariate with the chi-square test, and multivariate using multiple logistic regression tests. Stroke is the second most common cause of death after heart disease. Stroke sufferers cause disruption of physical mobility, so they need help to carry out daily activities, one of which is the implementation of oral care, which is still minimal. The study aimed to describe the perception of family caregivers in implementing oral care among stroke patients in Medan city areas. A qualitative with phenomenology approach was applied in this study. The study was conducted in the Health Centre of Medan Deli, in April-August 2018. Twelve participants were recruited using purposive sampling. Data collection used focus group discussion (FGD). We analyzed the data by using the thematic analysis. The results of the study found that four themes, namely: 1) Caregiver knowledge in the implementation of oral care for stroke patients at home is not good, 2) The process of implementing oral care by caregiver for stroke patients at home is less optimal, 3) Family obstacles in carrying out oral care for stroke patients at home, 4) Expectations and suggestions in the implementation of oral care for stroke patients at home.
