Taib","doi":"10.17576/ajtlhe.1301.2021.03","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17576/ajtlhe.1301.2021.03","url":null,"abstract":"Malaysian Nature Education in Preschool (MyNEPs) is an initiative to incorporate nature education in the preschool syllabus. It involves learning and hands-on practice in a natural environment setting on five nature elements (climate, flora, fauna, insects, and microbes). This research aims to assess the efficacy of the MyNEPs module towards preschool children through pre-, intervention, and post-assessment. This research adopted an experimental ISSN : 1985-5826 AJTLHE Vol.13, No.1, June 2021, 41-59 42 research design using quantitative approaches. A total of 29 preschool children from Bangi, Selangor were involved in this study. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics involving normality tests and paired sample t-test. The data normality was measured using the Shapiro-Wilk test, and the result indicated that the data is normally distributed where p=0.072 > 0.05. The overall t-test result shows significant differences (p=0.006) between pre- and post-achievement, with the total mean of post-test was higher with 35.90 than pre-test achievement with 33.59. This result indicated that this module significantly contributes to children's performance on nature prior to the intervention program. As a result, this study shows that the nature education program proposed has improved preschool children's knowledge of the natural environment. Nature education is essential to enhance creativity, problem-solving, and cognitive abilities, thus improving academic performance and setting a strong foundation for science and technology. Therefore, it is suggested that the MyNEPs module should be applied to all preschools premises in Malaysia. Understanding the theories and procedures concerning each practical is very crucial. All the techniques introduced are clinical biochemistry-based tests that are widely used in diagnostic lab. Previously, students were only given a practical manual which was disseminated days earlier followed by a short briefing before each practicals session. The students, however, could not fully grasp the content of the manual given, resulting in experimental errors, inaccurate findings and chemical wastage. Also, the instruments involved were sometimes mishandled resulting in an increased risk of damage or untoward accidents. To overcome these problems, Biokimia Metabolisme Think Aid (BioMet-Think Aid) learning package was introduced to enhance students’ understanding when performing the practical sessions. The BioMet-Think Aid package consists of a step-by-step video-based practical demonstration, reference posters for expected results and quizzes for assessing students’ understanding. This package was distributed to the students to serve as a preparatory package for the practical sessions. The feedback showed that the BioMet-Think Aid package resulted in increased students’ understanding (100%), adequate practical execution time (90%) and confidence in performing the experiments (100%). Positive feedbacks were also received from relevant teaching and technical staffs. There is little research on the difficulties in the teaching and learning such as presentation anxiety among ESL (English as a Second Language) Malaysian Chinese students. The objectives of this study are to explore the different levels of presentation anxiety and to identify coping strategies used by the students with English-speaking anxiety among undergraduate Malaysian Chinese students in a private university. Hence, a mixed method approach is used which involves a questionnaire and semi-structured interview. Sixty participants responded to the English Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (ELCAS) questionnaire and six interviewees who took part in the questionnaire were purposively chosen to conduct the interview. ELCAS Quantitative results indicated that ESL Malaysian Chinese students in the private university showed moderate levels of presentation anxiety when doing presentations. As for the qualitative data, the findings revealed that students often rehearse and practice before their presentation to cope with the existing anxiety. The mentor-mentee programme in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FSK), UKM, needs improvement to stay relevant to students. Therefore, some modifications were made by implementing a new programme known as Projek Tunas FSK, which is more comprehensive and employs the Modul Mentor Berkesan© in rebranding the existing mentor-mentee programme. Our research was conducted to study the perception of FSK, UKM students on the conventional mentor-mentee programme and Projek Tunas FSK. The Year 2 (n = 114) and Year 4 students (n = 84) from the 2018-2019 session were given questionnaires consisting of three parts: their demographic data, academic performance, and questions related to their relationship and communication with their mentors. Thus, online learning be one of the new teaching styles used during MCO at all educations level. Therefore, to study the effectiveness of this style, this paper is conduct to explore the effect of the new teaching style on the engineering student’s performance by determine the difference of overall scores between batches for each program in Vector Calculus (VC) course with ordinary and new teaching style at Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Nonparametric test is used as Mann Whitney to analyze the difference of the teaching style. The results show that the achievement of students in VC course could be significantly distinguished by two batches of students with different teaching and assessment modes. In this context, video conferencing technologies have become extremely popular to conduct student’s activities. However, compared to real-world experiences, these tools have several drawbacks, particularly in activity that need collaboration and teamwork. A rising number of academics and educators are using virtual reality avatar-based communication systems like Mozilla Hubs to supply the video conferencing with social and educational elements. To evaluate the usability of it, an online mobile application idea’s competition had been organized by Mobile Application Development (MAD) Club, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia using Mozila Hubs. The participants present their idea using poster, PowerPoint slides and videos. All the twenty participants including committee members were asked to provide their feedback through a usability questionnaire including open ended question to review the advantage and disadvantage of Mozilla Hubs platform. Result showed participants were agreed that Mozilla Hubs platform is a suitable platform to be used in the future to organize activities. It able to enhance the fun of participation with unique features in a virtual environment. The podcasts have been utilized at many levels of education, including elementary, secondary, and tertiary education. Along with this, many articles were written and published about the use of podcasts in education among university students. Our main objective in this study is to examines the use of podcasts in higher education among university students by systematically searching the Scopus database for papers relevant to the study. Eighteen papers were chosen and retrieved, then meticulously studied to uncover the new themes that have been classified as the result. The review found that podcasts have a favorable impact on university students and help them better understand the learning process.
