The number of parameters should be small for the device noise to be manageable, but also large enough for the circuit to be able to represent the solution. Dimensional expressivity analysis can optimize a candidate circuit considering both aspects. In this article, we will first discuss an inductive construction for such candidate circuits. Furthermore, it is sometimes necessary to choose a circuit with fewer parameters than necessary to represent all relevant states. To characterize such circuits, we estimate the best-approximation error using Voronoi diagrams. Moreover, we discuss a hybrid quantum-classical algorithm to estimate the worst-case best-approximation error, its complexity, and its scaling in state space dimensionality. This allows us to identify some obstacles for variational quantum simulations with local optimizers and underparametrized circuits, and we discuss possible remedies.","PeriodicalId":213320,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120976837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The integrity and availability of the trust information is paramount to ensure accurate trust assessment. Our proposed framework leverages the blockchain to build a distributed storage medium for trust-related information that ensures its integrity. We propose a geo-scoping approach, which ensures that trust-related information is only available where needed, thus, enabling fast access and storage space preservation. The allocation framework ensures minimum cost (aka maximum profit) to drone swarm providers while meeting the time requirement of service consumers. The constraints in the delivery environment (e.g., limited recharging pads) are taken into consideration. We propose three algorithms to select the best allocation of drone swarms given a set of requests from multiple consumers. We conduct a set of experiments to evaluate and compare the efficiency of these algorithms considering the provider's profit, feasibility, requests fulfilment, and drones utilization level.","PeriodicalId":213320,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126747443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since workflows and topologies are referred to as “orchestrations” in modern terminology (but with very different meanings), two orchestrations that go hand-in-hand are required to realize quantum applications. We motivate this by means of a nontrivial example, sketch these orchestration technologies, and reveal the overall structure of non-trivial quantum applications. Furthermore, we discuss the implied architecture of a runtime environment for such quantum applications. To validate the introduced architecture, we present a prototypical implementation based on the Camunda workflow engine, its associated modeling tool, as well as the OpenTOSCA ecosystem.","PeriodicalId":213320,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS)","volume":"318 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117015288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With a large volume of data containing locations, texts, check-in information, and social relationships, spatial keyword queries in LBSNs have become increasingly complex. In this paper, we identify and solve the Social-based Time-aware Spatial Keyword Query (STSKQ) that returns the top-k objects by considering geo-spatial score, keywords similarity, visiting time score, and social relationship effect. To tackle STSKQ, we propose a two-layer hybrid index structure called Network Embedding Time-aware R-tree (NETR-Tree). In the user layer, we exploit the network embedding strategy to measure the relationship effect in users' relationship network. In the location layer, we build a Time-aware R-tree (TR-tree) considered spatial objects' spatiotemporal check-in information, and present a corresponding query processing algorithm. Finally, extensive experiments on two different real-life LBSNs demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our methods, compared with existing state-of-the-art methods.","PeriodicalId":213320,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131673716","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
