Data mining tasks usually have datasets containing a large number of records and features that will be processed using, for example, created classification rules. As a result, by using classical method to classify a large number of records and features, a high classification error value will be obtained. To solve this problem, the genetic algorithm was applied to find for each feature the weight that would reduce classification error value. As a classical method, the k-nearest neighbour (KNN) classifier was chosen and the modified genetic algorithm was applied to optimize the weight. Based on the joint application of genetic and k-nearest neighbour algorithms, the GA/KNN hybrid algorithm was developed. As a result, the developed hybrid algorithm provides a stable classification error reducing regardless of the number of records and features, and also of the chosen number of neighbours. In the GA block the modified crossover and mutation works in each generation with identical intensity and cannot provide debasing of the individual.","PeriodicalId":211660,"journal":{"name":"Sci. J. These groups according to their functions and interests are implementing different sets of key performance indicators for financial institution performance assessment. In the proposed paper authors present a hypothesis of information security governance being a financial institution key performance indicator. Authors provide high level overview of existing situation in key performance indicator domain for financial institutions. The overview of stakeholder groups interested in financial institution performance management is provided. In the same way as corporate governance is treated as financial and operational performance reflecting and influencing factor, information security governance as a component of corporate governance, according to authors' opinion, should be treated as key performance indicator for financial institutions. In the paper the most indicative financial performance indicators as well as their calculation methods are defined for financial institutions. The paper contains overview of information security assessment models and researches in this field. Authors have chosen information security maturity model to use in testing hypothesis. The paper contains description of calculation methodology for financial performance indicators and information security maturity indicators. The general definition of computer-assisted assessment is provided and the application of objective and subjective testing systems is described. Moreover, advantages and drawbacks related both to computer-assisted assessment in general and to objective and subjective testing systems in particular are identified. The overall architecture of a computer-assisted assessment system in terms of components, their functions and interaction is presented. The necessity to provide intelligent and adaptive support in computer-assisted assessment systems is stated and kinds of the mentioned support in existent systems are described. Special attention is devoted to the student model that is used with the aim to adapt the system to the needs of a specific user. The basic kinds of information stored in the student model and their sources are defined, as well as the available classifications of the student model on the basis of different criteria are summarized. The complete process, starting with definition of functional requirements for GVS and finishing with evaluation of resulting system, is described. The overview of each construction step is provided. The set of metric types is developed for evaluation of resulting GVS. Features of existing solutions are compared with proposed framework. Conclusions are made and further researches are defined. Ietvara definēšana automātiskai grafu vizualizācijas sistēmu veidošanai Raksta ietvaros autori veica analīzi ar mērķi piedāvāt un novērtēt originālu automātiskās trīsdimensiju grafu vizualizācijas sistēmas izveidošanas koncepciju, kā arī izstrādāt to soļu specifikāciju, kuri ir nepieciešami attiecīgā ietvara veiksmīgai konstruēšanai. Rakstā ir aprakstīts pilnais process - sākot ar prasību definēšanu grafu vizualizācijas sistēmai, tās automātisko konstruēšanu un beidzot ar iegūtā rezultāta novērtēšanu. Šie etapi ir reprezentēti triju līmeņu modeļa veidā, kur katrā no līmeņiem pastāv savstarpēji saistītie elementi, kuri nodrošina korektu procesa automatizāciju. Ir sniegts katra konstruēšanas soļa detalizētais apraksts, kopā ar papildu komentāriem par tiem aspektiem, kuri attiecas uz papildu informācijas iegūšanu no lietotāja (gadījumos, kad attiecīgi dati var būt izmantoti generējamās sistēmas kvalitātes paaugstināšanai). Ar raksta autoriem ir izstrādāta un piedāvāta novērtēšanas metriku kopa, kura nodrošina atšķirības starp iecerētas un automātiskās konstruēšanas gaitā iegūtas vizualizācijas sistēmas funkcionalitātes formālo novērtēšanu. Metriku kopas saturs ļauj nosegt visus iespējamus datu tipus, kuri var būt noderīgi lietotājam grafu vizualizācijas sistēmas novērtēšanas gaitā. Lai būtu iespēja demonstrēt šāda veida arhitektūras realizācijas iespējas, tiek piedāvāts izmantot objektorientētās programmēšanas valodas \"Lua\" un \"C++\", kā arī relāciju datu bāzes pārvaldības sistēmu, specificējot visas nepieciešamas tabulas, attiecības starp tām, kā arī procedūras piekļuvei datiem. It is necessary to know only some characteristics of its elements. It was found, however, that the economic methods of management have limited possibilities, it is impossible to regulate with their help all those parameters which are not involved in the process of exchange. Another, more universal, economic management method is provided. The economic method of management discussed in the paper enables one to separate the management of economy from labour-management relations and to expand the application field of mathematics in the field of management. The main focus is on researches solving the cancer classification problem using single decision tree classifiers (algorithms C4.5 and CART) and decision tree forests (e.g. random forests) showing strengths and weaknesses of the proposed methodologies when compared to other popular classification methods. The article also touches the use of decision tree classifiers in gene selection. Apskatīts vēža klasifikācijas uzdevums, kurā nosaka vēža tipu vai pacienta diagnozi (slims vai vesels) pēc gēnu ekspresijas datiem (mikrorežga formāta dati). Apskatīti vairāki raksti, kas analizē dažādu klasifikācijas metožu pielietošanas iespējas šādu bioinformātikas uzdevumu risināšanā un salīdzina to veiktspēju, izmantojot dažādas datu kopas un pirmapstrādes pieejas. Klasifikatoru salīdzināšanā ņemts vērā arī īpatnējais datu raksturs - dati satur vairākus tūkstošus atribūtu (gēnu) un salīdzinoši maz ierakstu (daži desmiti vai simti), kas apgrūtina klasisko datu ieguves metožu darbību. Apskatītajos rakstos aprakstītās lēmumu koku metodes šajā rakstā tiek salīdzinātas pēc to efektivitātes (klasifikācijas kļūda/precizitāte), kas uzrādīta vairākās populārās gēnu mikrorežga datu kopās (leikēmijas, limfomas u.c. datu kopas). Rakstā arī apskatītas uz lēmumu koku izmantošanu balstītas metodes, kas izmantotas gēnu atlasei. Šādas metodes ir, piemēram, gēnu lietderības noteikšana pēc lēmumu koku klasifikatoru konstruēšanā izmantotās atribūtu informatīvuma novērtēšanas pieejas (Information Gain u.c.) un gadījuma lēmumu koku mežu generēšana, nosakot visbiežāk izmantotos gēnus, kas tiek atlasīti tālākajam darbam. Kopumā lēmumu koku klasifikatoru veiktspēja ir līdzvērtīga vai pārspēj citas klasiskās metodes, veicot pareizu datu pirmapstrādi. Lēmumu koku klasifikatoru ansambļu veiktspēja lielākoties pārspēj vienkāršu lēmumu koku klasifikatoru veiktspēju, ņemot vērā šādu klasifikatoru nestabilitāti. Reuse as the process of using existing software artefacts and knowledge has more than 40-year long history, and is currently recognized as an important mechanism to improve software quality and development productivity. Main attention is paid to retrospective analysis of key researches in the area of software reuse. Starting from the seminal paper and the other earliest contributions the survey discusses important milestones in the evolution of initial ideas of component sub-industry to mature field of research in software engineering. Active areas of past researches being overviewed by this paper include reuse libraries, asset classification and selection, measurement and experimentation, design patterns and studies of systematic reuse. Separate attention is paid to consolidation of main benefits and obstacles of software reuse. The paper concludes important ideas emerging from the historical experience about multidisciplinary nature of reuse, necessity of software reuse process and the role of domain engineering. The main innovation of the paper is that the authors use structural macroeconomic framework, rather than starting from a reduced form representation and incorporate the structural model of macroeconomy in multivariate dynamics risk-neutral default intensities. The approach shows estimation of default intensity parameters from macroeconomic prospective. The combined model allows getting more precise corporate default intensities parameters and recovery rates that could be used for the fair CDS premium calculation. Korporatīvas saistību nepildīšanas intensitātes modelis un makroekonomikas dinamika Rakstā tiek piedāvāts integrēts modelis, kurā vienkāršs strukturāls makroekonomikas modelis ir apvienots ar kombinēto modeli, kas raksturo korporatīvo saistību nepildīšanas intensitāti. Galvenā rakstā risinātā problēma ir vienota empīriska modeļa izstrāde. Izstrādes procesā raksta autori (i) izmanto strukturālu makroekonomikas modeli, nevis ierobežotas formas modeli un (ii) apvieno strukturālu makroekonomikas modeli ar korporatīvosaistību nepildīšanas intensitātes modeli. Integrēta modeļa pielietojums ļauj iegūt precīzākus korporatīvo saistību nepildīšanas intensitātes parametrus un parādu atgūšanas līmeni, ko varētu izmantot, lai precīzāk veiktu kredītsaistību nepildīšanas mijmaiņas darījumu (CDS) cenu aprēķinu. Svarīga raksta iezīme ir tas, ka analīzē tiek izmantoti makroekonomiskie dati: procentu likmes, inflācijas rādītāji un nacionālā kopprodukta dati. Viena emitenta strukturētie kredīta instrumenti sniedz milzīgu informācijas daudzumu par investoru attieksmi pret risku kredītu tirgos. Tādējādi, izmantojot makroekonomiskus datus, ir iespējams precīzāk novērtēt riska neitrālas korporatīvo saistību nepildīšanas iemeslus un tās intensitātes dinamiku. One of the main aspects to be considered during the preparation stage of software development is the selection of the right tools. Nowadays when software systems become more and more complex, an inappropriate selection of the tools may cause project not to succeed at all. That is why the main challenge of the industry is still aimed on the simplification, optimization, and automation of software development process. One of the ways to deal with an increasing complexity, as well as not to dig into the details of the source code, is to use modeling. A model-driven approach, mainly represented by OMG's Model Driven Architecture as the most advanced and popular one, purports to be the next evolutional milestone for the whole software industry. In fact, most of the tools currently available on the market are claimed as \"MDA complaint,\" though have never been checked or analyzed for that compliance. Therefore, there should be a certification program defined to figure out the main features of each tool in accordance with OMG standards. The original article proposes a foundation for certification of MDA tools. In particular, this includes the specification of the most common features and options defined to clarify the accordance level of each tool from various perspectives.
