The aspect ratios of YZO nanorods were altered by controlling the thicknesses of as-grown and 600 oC-annealed YZO seed layers. The highest aspect ratio of YZO nanorods was observed to be ~ 49.3 by controlling the growth and in-situ etching process of 600 oC-annealed YZO seed layers. Well-aligned YZO nanorods showed a single crystalline behavior corresponding to the preferential (002) orientation of the hexagonal wurtzite structure. PL and XPS results revealed that the surface defects were significantly increased with an increase of aspect ratio of YZO nanorods grown on the thicker as-grown and 600 oC-annealed seed","PeriodicalId":211059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference of Theoretical and Applied Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (TANN'18)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116922637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Carbon Dots with Tunable Photoluminescence Properties","authors":"Longyi Chen, Jin Zhang","doi":"10.11159/TANN18.129","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.11159/TANN18.129","url":null,"abstract":"A facile process for producing carbon dots with tunable luminescence properties has been developed by using microwaveassisted technique. Citric acid and L-histidine were used as carbohydrate precursors. By varying the precursors concentration in ethylene glycol, adjustable multicolor carbon dots of blue, green to yellow under UV excitation were easily obtained. We found that the photoluminescence of carbon dots (diameter < 40 nm) can be adjusted by simply varying precursor amount, which has not yet been reported before. Other methods for preparing different photoluminescent carbon dots often use oxidative/reductive chemicals, our method is facile and environmental friendly. The tuneable photoluminescence range can extend from 430 nm to 550 nm in this system.","PeriodicalId":211059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference of Theoretical and Applied Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (TANN'18)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117182636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In case of simultaneous radiation grafting, influence of absorbed dose and monomer concentration were studied whereas for emulsion graft polymerization, outcome of monomer quantity was investigated. The grafting yield (GY) was measured by gravimetric analysis. The grafting of polystyrene chains was verified by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The structural and morphological studies of synthesized nanohybrids have been explored by X ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) respectively. The grafting yield by simultaneous radiation grafting and emulsion graft polymerization was found to be 257 % and 85 % respectively. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) images evidently revealed the shortening of sepiolite nanofibers after silanization due to which heterogeneous nucleation occurred in micelles in emulsion graft polymerization. Results showed that simultaneous radiation grafting was comparatively better technique for grafting polystyrene chains onto silanized sepiolite.","PeriodicalId":211059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference of Theoretical and Applied Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (TANN'18)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133263443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However device optimization is still under investigations. In this work, electrical characteristics of Cylindrical GAA (CGAA) MOSFET are systematically analyzed. We evaluated and studied the length dependence of ON current (ION), and subthreshold leakage current (IOF) with different device parameters, especially channel length (Lg), channel thickness (tSi), oxide thickness (tox), and gate work function (ΦM), using the finite element, numerical method by solving Poisson’s equation in Cylindrical coordinate system.","PeriodicalId":211059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference of Theoretical and Applied Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (TANN'18)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125142669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By applying the Hubbard local field correction to the dielectric function, we calculate the plasmon dispersion relation and loss function at room temperature. Numerical results show that the plasmon mode energies decrease along both main crystallographic directions when the Hubbard local field correction factor is taken into account. This effect is slightly stronger in the direction of lighter mass. Furthermore, we investigate the effect of local field on the loss function at different electron densities and obtain that the shift in plasmon frequency with density variation is smaller when the exchange interaction is included. Our findings may be useful for future studies on phosphorene-based nano-optic and plasmonic devices.","PeriodicalId":211059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference of Theoretical and Applied Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (TANN'18)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127577034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
