The authors of textbooks should pay attention to how the\u0000content, the concept and as well as the layout of the textbook\u0000is perceived by readers - students. However it is necessary to\u0000know how teachers evaluate the textbook because they determine\u0000the trend how their students exploit the textbook. This article\u0000is a pilot study of the issues of perception and attention of\u0000learning texts by the teachers of mathematics and physics of\u0000elementary and secondary schools. The research was conducted\u0000during two workshops for teachers in November 2018. Within\u0000these sessions, teachers presented their comments and\u0000suggestions on various mathematical and physics teaching\u0000materials. Meeting participants were also subjected to\u0000eye-tracking testing of different learning materials. The goal\u0000of this testing was to identify the attention and browsing very\u0000differently conceived texts. One of the key findings is that\u0000teachers themselves consider teaching materials with excess\u0000text to be inappropriate. Also, the photographs or\u0000illustrations used must be designed in a modern style. For\u0000example, black and white images are considered to be\u0000inappropriate. In broad consensus, these views are held by\u0000teachers of different generations. In most cases, male teachers\u0000paid more attention to individual materials - read more\u0000thoroughly the materials. Both genders in textbooks, for\u0000example, do not pay attention to formulas. In the case of\u0000illustrations and pictures, the caption and its suitability\u0000within the theme are of particular interest. Overall, teachers\u0000are more focused on texts, with the emphasis on selecting /\u0000evaluating whether the text will be understood from the\u0000student's point of view. Teachers of younger and middle age,\u0000especially males, consider electronic documents as the key\u0000future of learning materials. At the same time, they are very\u0000actively using them. Older teachers in these documents also see\u0000the future, however, for their greater use, they are prevented\u0000by the lack of ICT knowledge.

The authors characterize the results of their own pedagogical research, which was conducted with the idea of using a computer and available computer networks to get more active students, who will be involved in the teaching process. Moreover, they obtain immediate feedback about their knowledge and more information on the most recent development in their relevant field of interest. The starting point for our research was an analysis of previously published studies of other authors, who were focused in a very detailed way on the various parts of the educational process; for instance, their attention was centred on the preparation of teaching content. However, they do not address the activation of students in the course of the study. In contrast, the authors of the submitted contribution recommend that the whole process, i.e. from the preparation of training content to the final exam, is also about the promotion of active attitude of students who get the immediate feedback about the relevant topic and new knowledge. They were encouraged to actively participate in special student network and share their views in the form of "chats". The authors also used the computers for the final knowledge testing of their students. Research has shown that the students use their computers in their private activities primarily for social networking. And sharing information about finding, sorting, and presenting technical and economic information can help them in a number of cases. On the other side, the wider application of the research results is restricted because not everyone has laptop, there is not an obligation to attend lessons with computer, and the computer-equipped auditoriums are limited in number. The result was created within the project IGA No. 7773 entitled „Current Trends in the Development of Financial Markets“ using institutional support for the long term conceptual development of the research organization of the University of Finance and Administration.

Although it became a common practice in the last decade, the research field is considered to be under-theorised, under-researched and barely sufficient. Several gaps in the literature have been identified such as a practical model to implement digital media in the classroom, lack of educator’s know-how in digital media production, and effective marking rubrics. Additionally, methodological approaches to measure LGDM effectiveness in the classroom as a learning tool are in embryonic stages. The literature reported studies with small sample size, qualitative approaches and lack of student training and support. An extra layer of complexity is the different digital media types such as audio podcast, digital story, animation, and video. These digital artefacts require a different set of production skills. Therefore, the comparison between studies can be problematic. However, many advantages of using LGDM has been highlighted by researchers with questionable empiric evidence. Due to the nature of digital media production workflow, characterised by being time-consuming, iterative and resource-intensive, we posit that students engaging in LGDM assignments require self-regulation skills to succeed on the task. For instance, developing a storyboard that requires to be evidence-based, visualisation of the content using multimodality, learning the different applications to produce the assets for the project, and engaging in the final production phase will require self-regulation skills. This paper discusses how understanding selfregulation processes in LGDM assignments can lead to a personalisation of student learning experience when LGDM assignments are used in the classroom.
