The exact cause of JNA is unknown. JNA originates from the pterygopalatine fossa at the aperture of the pterygoid canal. Clinical symptoms include nasal obtruction, epistaxis and headaches. The diagnosis is based on anamnesia, physical and radiological examination. CT scan and MRI are the main modalities in detecting and determining tumour stage.","PeriodicalId":207188,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Kedokteran (Journal of Medical Science)","volume":"2001 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128565103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This condition is more common in adolescents due to inadequate food intake and lack of nutritional knowledge. The other factor that determines nutritional status is physical exercise. The purpose of this study was to describe the awarenesss and intentions of underweight adolescents about physical exercise. This research was a quantitative descriptive study. It was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 and 3 in Pekanbaru. Ninety two underweight subjects were obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data collected using questionnaire and then analyzed by univariate analysis. The results of this study found that 63% underweight adolescent were female and they were experiencing mild to severe underweight. Most subjects have moderate awareness (77.2%) and good intention (64.13%) about physical exercise. It can be concluded that underweight adolescents have moderate awareness and good intention about physical exercise, despite they are being underweight.","PeriodicalId":207188,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Kedokteran (Journal of Medical Science)","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132887035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study investigated the effect of alpha lipoic acid (ALA) on thoracic aorta type 2 diabetic rat. Fifteen adult male rat of Rattus novergicus Wistar strain were separated into three groups (n=5), there were labelled as control, type 2 diabetes (DM), and DM + ALA. Type 2 diabetic rats were induced by streptozotocin (50 mg/kg bodyweight) and nicotinamide (110 mg/kg bodyweight) and categorized as diabetic rat if blood glucose level >250 mg/dl. Alpha lipoic acid was administered via intraperitoneal (60 mg/kg/day) and conducted for 3 weeks. The measured parameter was atherosclerosis lesion score. Results showed that there was no significant difference in atherosclerosis lesion scores between all groups designed (p=0,071). It can be concluded that ALA did not have a significant effect on atherosclerosis lesion of thoracic aorta type 2 diabetic rat.","PeriodicalId":207188,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Kedokteran (Journal of Medical Science)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129823843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
