The radioactive nuclides of indium were individually quantified by high-purity germanium detector (HPGe) and chronological IP measurements. The detection efficiencies of each radioactive nuclide for various thicknesses of foil mylar polyester film were summarized. The scope of application for proposed method were clearly dependent on the flux ratio of fast and thermal neutron, limiting the applicable region only being close to the neutron source.","PeriodicalId":20706,"journal":{"name":"Progress in Nuclear Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74012573","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The compact sensor consists of cesium iodide doped with thallium scintillator and a light focusing lens component. The luminescence of the scintillator, as the gamma-ray response, is collected using the lens and introduced into the 10 m-long optical fiber. Finally, the light output from the sensor is input to a photomultiplier and converted to an output voltage corresponding to the luminescence intensity. A 940 TBq cobalt-60 gamma-ray source is placed at the pool bottom and used as a target for the monitoring experiment. The dose rate to water is measured with two sensors located at different depth positions. By moving the sensors horizontally, the dose rates at several positions within the pool are measured and compared. The distance to the source can be estimated from the dose rate measured at the sensor position. Observations of the dose rate changes by moving both the sensors vertically against the pool bottom indicate that the motion of the source in an upper direction can be detected using two sensors located at different depths.","PeriodicalId":20706,"journal":{"name":"Progress in Nuclear Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81706770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We focused our attention on the beta sources (such as 90Sr/90Y) released in the accident. We try to perform benchmark analysis using PHITS code for the evaluation of the absorbed dose from beta radiation. The simulated absorbed dose rates for beta radiation by PHITS agreed with the measured absorbed dose rates to within 6% in the range from 1 to 1000 μm deep in ICRU tissue. The PHITS code showed almost the same results as EGS5 code. The PHITS’s ability to visualize with T-Deposit is useful and powerful to provide presentation Dose MAP from beta radiation.","PeriodicalId":20706,"journal":{"name":"Progress in Nuclear Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86428680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, it is revealed that two PTA molecules coordinate with Ln as tridentate ligand via two nitrogen in phenanthroline moiety and one oxygen in amide moiety in both crystal and solution states. The slight difference in coordination bond distances are observed between Eu and Nd complexes, this difference corresponds to the difference in ionic radius between Nd and Eu. This result indicates slight difference in ionic radii of Ln hardly affects coordination properties of PTA.","PeriodicalId":20706,"journal":{"name":"Progress in Nuclear Science and Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76181119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
