Presently, it is to answer the study's neediness about gender differences in math performance recommended by the previous studies. To offer the novelty about the measurement of conceptual understanding in four dimensions because one dimension is not relevant to describe students' understanding comprehensively and deeply of mathematical concepts. This study was a qualitative descriptive that relies on the analysis of test participants' answers; it consists of three male students and three female students representing the high, medium, and low ability categories at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah of Indramayu Regency. The students' participant is determined by purposive sampling. The analysis of the test participants' answers demonstrated the ability to understand the concept of fractions in the SPUR dimension of equality between male and female students in the same ability category. However, the students at every level of ability to achieve a different dimension. Male and female students in the high category achieved the dimensions of skills and property. Male and female students in the medium and low categories achieved skills. High-ability students and the medium category experienced an integer bias error using the integer property infractions. They perform arithmetic operations in the numerator and denominator separately as if they were independent integers. For this reason, students need to develop an understanding of concepts, especially on the dimensions of fraction properties, applications, and their representations, without being influenced by gender stereotypes. This development of understanding can be done through SPUR dimensional exercises that avoid gender bias, and teachers establish communication mathematics teaching in the classroom to engage students in both men and women","PeriodicalId":206509,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bidayah : jurnal pendidikan dasar Islam","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122560059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The subjects of this study were 60 Elementary Teacher Education students who were divided into two classes at IKIP Siliwangi Bandung. This study used a comparative research method with a quantitative approach. The data collection method used was the scientific literacy skills test method. The test instrument in this study measured three scientific literacy competencies, namely the ability to explain scientific phenomena, evaluate and design scientific investigations, and interpret scientific data and evidence. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques and an Independent Sample T-Test. This study's results showed that the average scientific literacy ability of students who received the STEM-integrated PjBL model in this study was 83. The T-test of average students' scientific literacy ability showed that the PjBL model integrated STEM-assisted modules affected students' scientific literacy skills better than lecture learning accompanied by experiments. The recommendation of this study is further research to modify the STEM-integrated PjBL model assisted by this module to be more effective in improving students' ability to interpret scientific data and evidence.","PeriodicalId":206509,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bidayah : jurnal pendidikan dasar Islam","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126151318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to reveal and introduce the concept of HRM in improving the quality of teachers at the SDI (islamic elementary school) Qurrota A'yun Tulungagung, Indonesia, to show the importance of HR in improving the quality of teachers in Islamic Primary Educational Institutions. Furthermore, this research involves ten informants, including a school principal, teachers, committees, parents, and community leaders. Subsequently, data were collected through in-person interviews (via telephone and online by WhatsApp messaging services), participant observation, and documentation. The results show the process of human resource management in improving the quality of teachers through planning, training, and evaluation. Firstly, the planning strategy is conducted through pre-service education or recruitment, while the training strategy is conducted by making on-the-job and off-the-job training programs. Lastly, Every week, semester, and year, the evaluation is completed, and rewards are given. In conclusion, the findings imply that human resource management has an important role in determining the quality of teachers.","PeriodicalId":206509,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bidayah : jurnal pendidikan dasar Islam","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128088717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, a specifically designed training material such as a module is especially needed when teachers work in remote areas with fewer resources. Meanwhile, six educational problem-solving skills development needs among teachers in rural Indonesian elementary schools were identified: teacher mentoring, self-actualization, competency, creativity, problem-solving, and independence. A training module was designed based on the needs which were assessed using the CIPS model. The study aimed to investigate the effects of the CIPS-based Training Module on the professionalism of elementary school teachers. In addition, the training module consists of five (5) stages, which include pre-entering, plan, setting, action, and evaluation. The quasi-experimental research was conducted on 63 elementary teachers from Nunukan and Sebatik Island, North Kalimantan, Indonesia, assigned randomly to either an experiment or a control group. Before the training, a pre-test was conducted, followed by training using the module for the experiment groups, and no training for the control group. Furthermore, a post-test was conducted in both groups to identify the effectiveness of the training module. The independent sample t-test showed that the experimental group obtained a higher mean score than the control group. In conclusion, the CIPS-based Training Module effectively develops professionalism in teaching problem-solving skills among the experimental group's elementary teachers. Meanwhile, the study implies that rural elementary teachers need to be prepared to teach problem-solving skills.","PeriodicalId":206509,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bidayah : jurnal pendidikan dasar Islam","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123465318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By library research using content analysis, the authors conclude that the values of Islām wasaṭiyyah are very relevant to the character education that is currently being rolled out and promoted by the Indonesian government. There are nine values of Islām wasaṭiyyah demonstrated through the storytelling in the textbook: tawassuṭ (taking the middle path), tasāmuḥ (tolerance), musāwah (egalitarian/non-discrimination), shūrā (deliberations), i’tidāl (straight and firm), iṣlāḥ (reform), aulawiyyah (prioritizing priorities), taṭāwur wa ibtikār (dynamic and innovative), and taḥaḍḍur (civilized). The authors suggest that the textbook’s Core Competencies and Basic Competencies need to be expanded to cover all the values included in the story. In addition, proportionally, all the values need to be put because there is no value explained to be much more dominant than others.","PeriodicalId":206509,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bidayah : jurnal pendidikan dasar Islam","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134533429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
