Through analyzing the respective limitation of both SSIM, which focus on image structure, and CD-PSNR, which is based on S-CIELAB and works with image color only, the additive model (SAC) and the multiplicative model (SMC)are defined respectively. Our experimental results show that the proposed combined models all perform better than single method, and we could have different choices considering different purpose and the tradeoff between complexity and efficiency.","PeriodicalId":206267,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Digital Image Processing","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133659234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To automate these activities, like in shape, color and texture, weed control system is feasible. The goal of this paper is to build a real-time, machine vision weed control system that can detect weed locations. The algorithm is developed to classify images into broad and narrow class for real-time selective herbicide application. The developed algorithm based on Edge Link Detector has been tested on weeds at various locations, which have shown that the algorithm to be very effectiveness in weed identification. Further the results show a very reliable performance on weeds under varying field conditions. The analysis of the results shows over 93 % classification accuracy over 240 sample images (broad, narrow and no or little weeds) with 100 samples from broad weeds, 100 samples from narrow weeds and the remaining 40 from no or little weeds.","PeriodicalId":206267,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Digital Image Processing","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130460482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Punithavalli","doi":"10.1109/ICDIP.2009.21","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICDIP.2009.21","url":null,"abstract":"An image is digitized to convert it to a form which can be stored in a computer's memory or on some form of storage media such as a hard disk or CD-ROM. Once the image has been digitized, it can be operated upon by various image processing operations like enhancement, restoration, reconstruction, compression. An image defined in the \"real world\" is considered to be a function of two real variables, for example, a(x,y) with a as the amplitude (e.g. brightness) of the image at the real coordinate position (x,y). An image may be considered to contain sub-images sometimes referred to as regions-of-interest, ROIs, or simply regions. This concept reflects the fact that images frequently contain collections of objects each of which can be the basis for a region. In a sophisticated image processing system it should be possible to apply specific image processing operations to selected regions. Thus one part of an image (region) might be processed to suppress motion blur while another part might be processed to improve color rendition. For performing image processing operations ,the basic structure called skeleton is much more essential and highly adaptive tool. Skeletons are important shape descriptors in object representation and recognition. A skeleton that captures essential topology and shape information of the object in a simple form is extremely useful in solving various problems such as character recognition, 3D model matching and retrieval, and medical image analysis. Medical imaging systems. Due to its compact shape representation, image skeleton has been studied for a long time in computer vision, pattern recognition, and optical character recognition. It is a powerful tool for intermediate representation for a number of geometric operations on solid models. Many image processing applications depend on the skeletons.","PeriodicalId":206267,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Digital Image Processing","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129566895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for markerless human body motion capture. We compute volume data (voxels) representation from the images using the method of SFS (shape from silhouettes). Then we match a predefined human body model with pose parameter to the volume data, and the calculation of this matching is transformed into energy function minimization. In minimizing the energy function, we use a method of 3D active contours to solve this problem. In the process of curving surface evolution, the curving surface will drive the human model close to the visual hull. On the other hand, when the human model is superposed with the human real pose, the curving surface can create a 3D human body reconstruction based on the visual hull and human model. Promising results on real images demonstrate the potentials of the presented method.","PeriodicalId":206267,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Digital Image Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130284116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, this paper presents anew 3D line segment extraction method by using disparity map generated in the process of stereo matching. The core of our technique is that feature matching is carried out by the reference of the disparity evaluated by area-based stereo. Since the reference of the disparity can significantly reduce the number of feature matching combinations, feature matching error can be drastically minimized. One requirement of the disparity to be referenced is that it should be reliable to be used in feature matching. To measure the reliability of the disparity, in this paper, we employ the self-consistency of the disparity. Our suggested technique misapplied to the detection of 3D line segments by 2D line matching using our hybrid stereo matching, which can be efficiently utilized in the generation of the rooftop model from urban images.Since occlusions are occurred around the outlines of buildings, we use multi-image stereo scheme by fusing 3D line segments extracted from several pairs of stereo images. The suggested method misevaluated on Avenches data set of Ascona aerial images.Experimental results indicate that the extracted 3D line segments have an average error of 0.5m and can be efficiently used to the construction of 3D site models using a simple 3D line grouping.","PeriodicalId":206267,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Digital Image Processing","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133789763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed structure consists of four main units: Multi-Pipeline Control Unit (MPCU), Process Element Unit (PEU), Region Summing Unit (RSU), and Recognition Indexing Unit (RIU). Four recognition techniques: Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Modular PCA (MPCA), Weight MPCA (WMPCA), and Wavelet based techniques are adopted to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed architecture using several standard face databases. The experimental results show that the proposed architecture helps minimizing processing time through its multi-pipeline processes while still maintains high recognition rate. Moreover, the design has encouraged the reduction in hardware resources by utilizing the proposed reusable modules.","PeriodicalId":206267,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Digital Image Processing","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132711785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the case of faint stars, we show that this benefit is equivalent to double the quantum efficiency of the CCD detector or to increase the effective telescope aperture by up to 40% without decreasing the astrometric precision or introducing artificial bias. In the case of orbital objects, the deconvolution technique can double the signal to noise ratio helping to discover and control dangerous objects as space debris or lost satellites.","PeriodicalId":206267,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Digital Image Processing","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117159228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
