In relation to the present causes, the purpose of this paper was to characterise the clinical features of AS patients in the Delta area of Egypt, diagnostic and treatment strategies to improve the care of those patients. Methods: This prospective, observational, multicenter registry research involved 700 patients with prosthetic aortic valves and clinical criteria for mild, moderate, and severe AS. Aortic-valve gradients of less than 25 mmHg were considered mild, 25-40 mmHg were judged moderate, and greater than 1 cm2 was deemed severe based on European Society of Cardiology (ESC) standards. Results: Regarding age 43% were males and 57% were females, the severity 12% moderate, and severe in 18%, 4% participants had prosthetic valve. Echocardiography showed that 41% of patients had left ventricular hypertrophy. The ejection fraction (EF) ranged from 36 to 70%, for Electrocardiogram, 68% had sinus rhythm, 18% had Atrial fibrillation, 10% had left Bundle branch block (BBB), and 4% had pathological Q wave, type of treatment was medical in 80% participants, and surgical in 13%, and Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI) in 1%, 2% participants refused surgery and 4% were medically non-fit for surgery. Conclusions: No pharmaceutical treatment is presently effective in minimising the development of AS, and patient-education efforts will see a spike in the rate of AS in the population who are 50 years old and older, in both sexes, TAVI and Screening programs should be initiated among AS patients.","PeriodicalId":205655,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Cardiology Research","volume":"2018 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121340470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Snakes have always evoked a feeling of awe and curiosity, Knowledge regarding snakes and the effects of envenomation dates back to centuries. Aim: The primary aim of the study was to understand the demographic characteristics, details of clinical and laboratory risk factors predicting high disease severity in patients with snake envenomation to a tertiary care center, Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore. Materials and Methods: Prospective observational Cohort study with nested case control design. Every patient was subjected to a 20 min whole blood clotting time (20min WBCT) test at admission. Additional two citrated samples of 3 ml whole blood were taken at admission and 6 hours later from the patient along with the routine blood samples. Results: Analysis of Demographic, Clinical and Laboratory characteristics was done in the present study, demographic a detail of 72 patient’s shows information about Gender distribution of the patients showed males number was higher compared to females. The mean age of the study population was 40.78 years. The incidence of co morbidities as expected was less as the predominant population was between and 21-60 years. The predominant occupation among the study population comprised of farm labourers (34%) and farmers (29%). Among the identified species the most common species was Russell’s viper (31%, N=22) followed by krait (5%). Various baseline Clinical Parameters were also assessed among those the most clinical feature was pain at the bite sit which was present in 90.28% of the patients followed by local swelling which was seen in 87.5% of the population. Conclusion: Socio-demographic variables, clinical findings, treatment variables, ASV related data and mortality in our study was found to be consistent with the studies done earlier.","PeriodicalId":205655,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Cardiology Research","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126793880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study was conducted to assess correlation between serum uric acid and renal function in diabetes with normalbuminuria. Materials & Methods: The present study was conducted on 256 diabetic patients of both genders. The level of urinary creatinine was assayed using the same method as that for serum creatinine. Evaluation of GFR (eGFR) was done according to the CKD-EPI formula. Results: out of 256 patients, males were 146 and females were 110. Out of 146 males, 30 males and out of 110 females, 22 females had hyperuricemia. The mean BMI (kg/m2) in group I was 24.1, in group II was 24.3, in group III was 25.1 and group IV was 25.4. Mena FBG (mmol/L) in group I was 8.6, in group II was 7.5, in group III was 7.4 and in group IV was 7.1, Mean urine pH was 5.9 in group I, 5.7 in group II, 5.6 in group III and 5.1 in group IV, Mean UACR in group I was 10.8 in group I, 9.02 in group II, 9.08 in group III and 10.2 in group IV. Mean eGFR (ml/min/1.73m 2 ) in group I was 89.2, in group II was 85.3, in group III was 82.5 and in group IV was 79.4. The difference was significant (P< 0.05). A correlation of FBG (mmol/L), urine pH, SUA (µmol/L) and UACR with eGFR was found. Conclusion: Authors suggested that hyperuricemia should be controlled efficiently to prevent the GFR decrease and protect the renal function in these patients.","PeriodicalId":205655,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Cardiology Research","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127672777","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
