Few studies focus on these organisms in children compared to the number of the ones carried out on adults. Therefore, the importance of our research is to contribute to broadening our knowledge on the effects of these organisms in children. The objective of our research was to determine each of the following: the sensitivity profile of CRE, available treatment options for dealing with these bacteria, the therapeutic outcome, and the factors affecting this outcome. Our study design was a prospective, single-centre analytical cohort study. Samples were collected from the Children’s University Hospital in Damascus, which conatins 389 beds and 60 incubators. Disk diffusion was used to examine bacterial susceptibility; some samples were tested in BD Phoenix system. Our research examined antibiotics resistance rates, duration to treatment response, and mortality rate. The research sample included 277 samples, 125 of which were resistant to Carbapenem. High resistance to most of the available antibiotics characterized the Carbapenem Resistant Enterobacteriaceae strains. Colistin, Imipenem and Amikacin were the most used antibiotics in our study; one or two antibiotics were used in most cases. Moreover, the mortality rate was 42.4%, and most of the deaths were due to infection itself. The median duration of treatment response was 8.4 days, and the factors were associated with a statistically significant higher mortality rate (age less than one month, the use of certain antibiotics in treatment such as Piperacillin-Tazobactam, and association with respiratory tract infection). Regarding response to treatment, there was no significant difference between Resistant and Non-Resistant Carbapenem Enterobacteriaceae in terms of duration. Enterobacteriaceae resistance to Carbapenems caused a very high mortality rate. Our treatment options were limited; consequently, the introduction of novel antibiotics in our treatment options is required.","PeriodicalId":20538,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st International Ninevah Conference on Medical Sciences (INCMS 2021)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88239751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this study was to determine the prevalence of fibromyalgia in TTH patients as well as the features of TTH patients with concomitant FM. One hundred patients with TTH and 100 apparently healthy subjects were conjoined in this study. The socio-demographic and headache characteristics of the patients were recorded. Patients with TTH had a considerably higher frequency of FM (34%) when compared to the controls (9%). TTH patients with FM had a substantially older mean age and a higher percentage of female participants than TTH patients without FM. Patients with comorbid fibromyalgia had greater headache frequency (P =0.02), headache intensity (P = 0.003), and higher scores on the HIT-6 (P = 0.004), GAD -7 (P =0.04), and PHQ-9 (p= 0.02), whereas there was no variation between the diseased patients and controls with regards to disease duration. In conclusion, there is a high frequency of FM in patients with TTH. Patients with coexistent FM and TTH tend to have more anxiety and depressive features, more severe headache, greater headache frequency, and when compared to people who do not have fibromyalgia, they are more likely to have a significant headache-related impairment.","PeriodicalId":20538,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st International Ninevah Conference on Medical Sciences (INCMS 2021)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77346991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: The research included a total of 66 healthy patients, from both genders, aged between 19-29 years partially erupted mandibular third molar. All procedures had been done under local anesthesia. Patients randomly divided into three groups. First group platelet rich fibrin and in the second group (Gengigel ® Prof Syringes, Ricerfarma) which contain 0.8% hyaluronic acid were applied in the post extraction socket of impacted lower third molar. In the third control group nothing was placed in the extraction sockets. Postoperative pain, swelling, and trismus were evaluated on the 1st, 3rd, and 7th postoperative days. Results: Hyaluronic acid 0.8% (Gengigel) showed significant reduction in both pain and swelling for the 1st and 3rd postoperative days when compared to the control group. Platelet rich fibrin group revealed a significant lower pain at 1st postoperative day and less swelling at 3rd postoperative day in comparison to the control group. No differences were determined among all groups in maximum mouth opening (trismus). Conclusions: The result of this study showed that both hyaluronic acid and platelet rich fibrin reduced the postoperative pain and swelling. However, the outcome of hyaluronic acid was more satisfied than the platelet rich fibrin in comparison to that of control group after wisdom teeth surgery.","PeriodicalId":20538,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st International Ninevah Conference on Medical Sciences (INCMS 2021)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79175824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current research included 90 hemodialysis patients (50 males and 40 female) who gone to Tikrit Teaching Hospital for the time from starting of December/2020 to the conclusion of May/2021. The Covid -19 -IgG was found in a higher rate in males than that in females (18.89% and 12.22% respectively). Also, non-significant relation was found between age and seropositivity for Covid -19 -IgG antibodies (p ≤ 0.05). Since patients receiving hemodialysis treatment are immunocompromised and can be at risk of infection of Covid -19.","PeriodicalId":20538,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st International Ninevah Conference on Medical Sciences (INCMS 2021)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86814967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
