Present study is an attempt to compute the actual river bank dynamics within the Pakistan and India for a period of 2 years i.e. before and after flood of 2014. The entire course of Chenab River upstream of Jammu and Kashmir, Tandi to confluence with Indus River at Mithankot for a stretch of about 964 kilometer has been in to this study via an integrated approach of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing. Entire mapping of riverbank and river channels in the study area is from Jayotipuram to Seetpur. After image processing it was found that the River Chenab in highly snaking river with several prominent sections where the river has been suffering immensely with the shifting and erosion characteristics. This shift in riverbank was 1669 m near city Gujrat and 2122 m after flood near Chiniot City in the mentioned period of study. Video stabilization is required as preprocessing step to remove undesired motion while preserving the desired ones. Video Stabilization is an active research area for past decade and most of work done is on offline methods for stabilizing video in visible range. However stabilizing Infrared videos and that too for real time applications is still an open research area. This is because of the difficulty in detecting and tracking good features in IR videos due to lower resolution/quality videos. The Glacial avalanche hazards cause catastrophe in Shigar and Shyok basins. Using Satellite and Topographic data, assessment of glacial avalanche hazards is conducted in this research. The study presents the glacial avalanche hazard assessment in visible and thermal bands based on various methods of image classification. The Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is incorporated to gauge the indicators of glacial avalanche hazard as orientation, slope and elevation of the glaciers in the study area. The location of a site vis-à-vis a glacier, melting behavior of the glaciers and geo-morphology of the parent surface are taken as indicators of glacial avalanche hazard. Out of multiple research issues of VANETs, efficient routing is a major concern. Effective routing is needed because VANETs are applied to critical applications like accident alerts, driver assistance during vague weather. For this reason, a fast vehicle to vehicle communication is required. In this study, a lane based low overhead unicast procedure is proposed particularly for VANETs. The overhead is minimized by omitting the continuous GPS readings and using a novel position estimation scheme. The entire network is designed by using graphs for the comprehension of the problem. The proposed model is described by using Formal Methods. Formal Methods (FM) is one of the novel mathematical techniques used to prove the correctness and consistency of the model. Vienna Development Method-Specification Language (VDM-SL), a FM, is used for the detailed level description of the protocol. The proposed unicast algorithm is then formalized through VDM-SL. The pump had to be chosen in such a manner that its cost efficiency, determined by the power consumption of the pump, was enhanced as much as possible. The basic construction and working of different types of pumps and their relative advantages and disadvantages were taken into account. Effect of a range of design parameters on performance and efficiency of the centrifugal pump was analysed on the basis of seminal works on the subject. Accordingly, the control, independent and dependent parameters were chosen for this work. The algorithm was developed for calculation of the dependent parameters and data was generated through iterative method by varying the independent parameters one at a time. The data was analysed and the most cost efficient centrifugal pump was chosen out of a wide range of options on the basis of best results. In the process, the pump selection was generalized based on pump parameters governing the performance of the pump using a simplified technique. The achievement is that now any problem having same setup or scenario can be easily dealt with by using the designed work sheet, where one simply has to plug in the values of different parameters. In addition, these are metal alloys and display typical features of metals like resistance, stiffness, and workability etc. The blend of all these properties makes it easy to know why these materials are smart in the grounds of engineering and ascend to a new way of thoughts about the design of mechanical systems. The present study aims to develop Cu-Zn-Al based shape memory alloy by melting route, finding out the transformation temperatures and the development of shape memory effect. The design and methodology approach includes the mixture of test material which is chips of pure Copper (99.9%), Zinc (99%) and Aluminum (85%). All these chips are mixed and melted. Furthermore, the melt was die casted in open air in a capsule shape. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) was carried out to check the estimated composition and afterwards spectroscopy was done to check the actual composition of the alloy. In addition, the alloy, in a capsule form, was cold rolled up to 1 mm thickness with inter pass annealing at 350°C to form a wire. After that the thermal properties of the wire were examined by a custom made experiment following the principles of Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC). Undergraduate students are used to develop the mathematical models of such classic control problems. In this project we theoretically design the PID controller and implement it on a very cheap and cost effective hardware. PID controller for this project is a dedicated design and implementation of a system which balances a ball at a particular point on a beam using a PID controller. The ball is free to move on the beam in any direction due to force of gravity. Here, the PID controller set the angle of the beam to make sure that the ball gets stable at our specified set point by eradicating the error between the current position and the reference point. The whole system could be implement by employing a servo motor, an ultrasonic distance sensor, a microcontroller and a support assembly. We used “MATLAB R2013a” to draw the theoretical response of multiple controller and “Arduino 1.6.8” to draw the real time response of ball & beam setup. Like all Electromagnetic signals, the GPS signals are also affected by the interferences. Usually the general purpose GPS receivers has the accuracy of 10 ∼ 20 meters. However, the evolution of Real Time Kinematics (RTK) resolved the problem to millimeter accuracy by employing the double differenced carrier phase measurements. RTK positioning is very popular because it provides a precise and efficient way of differential positioning. RTK technique is based on the ambiguity resolution, which is so far the most intricate part. Long initialization time and cycle slips during operation is the main drawback of this technique which increases under obstructive environmental conditions, like power outage due to tree cover and strong multipath in urban canyon. As RTK is a differential technique which uses a base station at a known location and moving rover. The distance between the rover and base station receivers directly affects the accuracy. However, at Zero Baseline which uses the same antenna for the base station and receiver, thus having same environmental effects, provides a trivial but the best possible scenario and all real life uses are more challenged than this. This paper discusses an empirical analysis of the technique during the high environmental effects on the system (Base + Rover) by employing a Zero Baseline condition. The result of the zero base line tests gives an upper bound to the accuracy of the system in any environment. In MIMO radar system, linearly independent waveforms are transmitted using different propagation paths via multiple antennas. The waveforms reflected from different targets are also linearly independent with each other which allows to apply the several well-known robust adaptive algorithms to achieve high resolution and interference rejection. These algorithms reject the external interferences as well as accurately estimate the target location and amplitude. Before the advent of digital hardware, the beamformers were implemented using mechanical systems. Today, field programmable gate array (FPGA) has become powerful enough to perform the massive number of operations. FPGA is also a reconfigurable digital hardware which and can reuse for different applications. In this paper, authors investigate the Robust Capon Beamformer (RCB), Doubly Constrained Robust Capon Beamformer (DCRCB) in reconfigurable medium FPGA for MIMO radar systems. The hardware implementation deals with the complex 32-bit single precision floating point values in Virtex5 FPGA at 180 MHz clock. This realization takes input from 10 channels and computes the adaptive weight vector. They are frequently used in satellite due to their high reliability, less power consumption and wide range of torque capability. This paper presents the detail design analysis of nitrogen purged hermetically sealed reaction wheel. The RWs are major source of vibrations in the satellite. Therefore, the methodology for the attenuation of static and dynamic imbalances of the current reaction wheel is adapted as per ISO standard 1940/1 and is discussed in detail. Transient and steady state thermal analyses of the reaction wheel are carried out to ensure the proper heat transfer from the RW to the satellite body and are presented in detail in this paper. The reaction wheel assembly (RWA) is hermetically sealed by nitrogen gas and extensive testing on ground has been performed for the determination of gas leakage. A smooth decay curve is obtained which shows good agreement with the theoretically simulated results.
