Detecting mosquitoes’ species from their wingbeats acoustic data can be very effective but it is challenging task. A model is proposed in this paper which classifies different mosquito species based on acoustic properties of their wingbeats sound. Publicly available acoustic dataset HumBug is used to test the proposed algorithm. Due to class imbalances in the data of HumBug dataset, Receiver Operating Characteristic Area Under the Curve (ROC-AUC) score and Precision Recall (PR) curves are used to test the performance of the proposed multiple species classification algorithm. Proposed algorithm achieves ROC-AUC of 0.921 and PR AUC of 0.885 for mosquito classification using ResNet-50. Furthermore, results of the proposed algorithm are compared with the other published work in the literature.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132398665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current cross-layer designs provide character solutions for congestion control, fault tolerance, energy conservation, electricity minimization, and waft control, and the essential downside is excessive price and overhead. In this paper, we underwrite the design of more than one pass-layer configuration based on engineering to give a mixed answer for connecting the executives, energy protection, blockage control, and confirmation control. By reproduction results, we show that the typical surrenders to-end delay, average power utilization, and bundle misfortune are considerably diminished with the expansion in high throughput and positive transportation proportion.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130106857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the research is to design and analyze the low-cost chipless RFID tag to mitigate the cost issue due to silicon IC in the chip-based tag. The tag design consists of rectangle-based multi-resonating structures. The tag encodes 6-bit data in the frequency ranges from 3.4 – 4.6 GHz for the rigid Taconic TLX-0 substrate and from 5.8 – 6.8 GHz for the flexible DuPont™ Kapton®HN substrate. The 6-bit tag structure can generate 26= 64 distinct tag IDs. Each resonator in the tag design corresponds to a particular frequency in the RCS curve. The cascaded rectangle-based resonators are placed next to the micro-stripline. The overall dimension of the tag is 119 mm x 15.5 mm. Each resonating dip depicts the logic state ‘1’ and, the ‘0’ bit is identified when there is no resonating dip. The passive nature of chipless tags eliminates the need for an external circuitry/battery which makes these tags suitable for deployment in the retail industry where there is a requirement for such low-cost tags. Because of its non-line-of-sight feature, it has gained more significance. RFID has the potential to compete with barcode technology because of its long-read range and cost-effective nature.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130031373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, significant number of usability bugs are being experienced by the end users of interactive applications thus creating a gap between users and technology. To bridge this gap and to overcome those usability bugs and challenges, it is significantly important to clearly identify the those usability bugs along with the gaps and challenges causing them. This research study aims to identify the usability bugs being experienced by users of interactive applications and proposes a categorization taxonomy for the identified bugs. Moreover, to reach the cause of emergence of usability bugs, the study attempts to identify and report the usability gaps and challenges in existing usability practices. Furthermore, this study performs a mapping between the identified gaps and challenges in existing practices to that of the recommendations to address the identified gaps. Index Terms—Usability, interactive applications, usability bugs, user experience, user satisfaction, usability testing, user interface.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122055219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
