The cascaded rectangle-based resonators are placed next to the micro-stripline. The overall dimension of the tag is 119 mm x 15.5 mm. Each resonating dip depicts the logic state ‘1’ and, the ‘0’ bit is identified when there is no resonating dip. The passive nature of chipless tags eliminates the need for an external circuitry/battery which makes these tags suitable for deployment in the retail industry where there is a requirement for such low-cost tags. Because of its non-line-of-sight feature, it has gained more significance.
