The proposed compact multi-resonator tag configuration has a geometrical configuration of 7 mm × 7 mm offering a convincingly significant bit density of 20.4 bits/cm2. In addition to this, the realized tag is optimized for multiple rigid and flexible ungrounded substrates i-e Taconic TLX-0, Taconic TLX-8, Rogers RT/duroid/5870 and Rogers RT/duroid/5880. The proposed tag is capable of generating 210=1024 unique IDs for tagging various objects. Furthermore, the presented work exhibits polarization insensitive feature, compact assembly for maximum space utilization and high code density there by producing a stable response to electromagnetic waves at different angles of incidence. All these features make the formulated chipless tag the finest preference for the deployment of economical item-level tagging and the internet of things.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124030268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Not only this but people sharing their life events, thoughts through posts, status updates all gather up as a big data resource. This resource is helpful in conducting various researches, analyses including big data and machine learning. In this study, we analyzed six mental health issues using Reddit’s data. The data obtained summarizes; Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Autism and Mental Health which is a general class which discusses mental health. Experimentation is done using various deep learning and NLP techniques applied for classification such as Convolutional Neural Network, Long-short term memory network, Gated Recurrent Unit, Bi- Long-short term memory network and Bi-Gated Recurrent Unit. In addition to these traditional techniques, pre-trained BERT model and RoBERTa model have been applied. Finally a hybrid framework is presented using hierarchical classification and pre-trained RoBERTa fine tuned on the respective mental health data. The last phase compares results of the baseline deep learning models with the presented framework. The results show that the average accuracy of the hierarchical classification with two level hierarchy gives 84% of accuracy on test data.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121222111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Datacenters are a kind of backbone for provisioning and availability of these services and huge amount of data that is being produced. This increase needs to be assessed in terms of the environmental impact it has, which the existing literature and reports tell us is quite negative given the carbon footprint. GHG emissions destroy our environment and contribute to global warming. In this paper we assess the environmental impact of datacenters, identify factors that cause datacenters to emit Co2, study relevant existing literature on efforts that have been made in identification and elimination of these factors, performance metrics to measure sustainability of datacenters and in the end, we discuss common strategies that can contribute in making datacenters more sustainable. At the end we study few datacenters which have been claimed to be green and sustainable, to identify how these datacenters achieve their sustainability goals for example reduced carbon emissions, types of energy resources used, and how they curbed e-waste production and suggest a framework based on the findings.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125965472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a strong need for marker-less natural interface between human and computer that can also facilitate disabled people. This paper presents a novel technique for hand gesture recognition for controlling multimedia player through hand gestures. Existing techniques available in the literature have number of limitations, such as scalability, complex implementations and limited accuracy. The solution proposed in this paper is based on image processing which does not require designing of any complicated data sensors-based gloves. Our outcome shows that an effective HCI can be achieved with minimal hardware requirement. We have formulated a sum-rate maximization problem based on the proposed technique subject to performance indicators (PIs). The considered PIs are the admission of mobile users (MUs) in clusters, the association of MUs with one of the base stations (BSs), allocation of power to the MUs, and MU’s minimum rate requirement. This novel problem is solved to find an ∊-optimal solution within ∊ = 10−3 using the outer approximation algorithm (OAA). We have compared the performance of the proposed technique for 4-tier HetNet, and existing 2-tier HetNet, macro BS-only (MBS-only) network. Simulation results ensure best performance of the proposed technique in 4-tier HetNet for sum rate maximization regarding PIs. It is shown through results that the proposed technique performs better in 4-tier HetNet than in existing 2-tier HetNet and MBS-only network regarding PIs.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128533633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed MIMO design consists of a 4×4 antenna configuration on FR-4 substrate with dimensions of 67 × 67 × 1.6 mm3. A U-shaped slit is etched on the radiator to introduce dual-band feature. The impedance bandwidth is improved by gradually varying the feed line. A novel decoupling technique has been designed and developed on the bottom side of the substrate for achieving high isolation below −24 dB. The highest antenna gain is found to be 6.16 dB and 6.46 dB at 3.10 GHz and 6.60 GHz frequency bands respectively while its radiation efficiency is found to be higher than 90% in the entire operating bands. The diversity performance is tested in terms of Envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), diversity gain (DG), channel capacity loss (CCL) and total active reflection coefficient (TARC) where the measured values of ECC is less than 0.005, the DG is higher than 9.98, channel capacity loss is below 0.4 bits/s/Hz while the TARC is below −10 dB in the entire frequency bands. The simulation results are found to be in good agreement with the experimental results.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128708508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is the responsibility of emergency response forces to ensure a rapid and appropriate reaction to any undesired situation. According to statistics obtained from emergency centers in Pakistan and different countries, it is brought into consideration that every day, around 20–25 thousand emergency calls are received, and on weekend’s ratio increases by 20%. Extensively it is classified by different studies, facts, and feedback that 80% of the calls are hoax calls. Currently, the system is entirely dependent on a human resource where a human operator is required to listen to the person in the problem and decide which response force needs to be informed. This naturally brings a delay in response time. The system that is being developed first analyses voice-to-text conversions from a semantic perspective applies data parsing techniques to the text that has been extracted, and then creates tokens based on pre-learned keywords. The system is trained on a data set that was obtained from a well-known emergency command center. Keeping in mind the confidentiality of the data set, only the emergency-related descriptions were used to train our model. For each unique case, a keyword was listed in the database as a token, allowing the system to make decisions independently for each pattern it had learned. We have used SVM and logistic regression algorithms in a python framework for training and testing of research work. SVC will extract features from the data set then a pipelining algorithm will clean the data set and remove the unwanted data. It is a kind of pre-processing that is being done to achieve the best and the better accuracy measures. Then these text tokens will be converted into vectors, and a vectorizer algorithm needs vectors/numbers for input and processing purposes. Then a function will take training data and trained labels in a classifier to predict the data. These prediction values and trained labels will be compared to achieve the best accuracy. Similarly, in the testing, the classification report is generated without the help of the fit function because training is allocated with the fit function, as it is not needed in the testing phase.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"181 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115133252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These networks are connected with each other via wireless technology. Wireless medical sensor network (WMSN) came into existence with these medical sensor networks. Transmitted data from these WMSN’s is then further processed in remotely located medical units. In the meanwhile, a registered medical professional of this network can access this information to rectify the patient’s conditions via internet. This transmitted information is critical for the patient. It should be secured and private. It is very important to provide secure and private access to patient’s data. Internet has an open infrastructure for every one as well as hackers whom can intrude such kind of sensitive information for their own benefits. It is a challenging issue for WMSNs to resist such kind of abrupt activity. A smaller number of protocols are being introduced in the literature, about WMSN, providing security and user authentication. Some of the protocols regarding WMSN are not standardized enough to provide user anonymity. This study is proposed to provide a protocol with potential to preserve user anonymity as well as mutual authentication for the mobile users. Precisely, this protocol is not only providing sufficient complexity but also robustness to security against unwanted threats. Moreover, it is providing a login phase, mutual authentication characteristics, and a phase to change the old password into a new one.","PeriodicalId":203804,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125403733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed method consists of various interconnected steps. Initially, the G-channel is isolated from the input colored RGB image. Later, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is applied on the Green channel. Next, the Local Ternary Pattern (LTP) is used that feeds the processed image to the Morphological Filter Bank (MFB). The MFB uses various filters, such as spur, majority, and opening operations to segment the vessels image. Simulations are performed on the DRIVE and the STARE datasets. The proposed method yields mean accuracy of 94.07% and 93.45% on DRIVE and STARE datasets, respectively.
