The process of concentration by partial evaporation was carried out and its influence on changes in the content of individual components in the analysed mixtures was examined. The effect of poly(vinyl alcohol)-based polymer matrix on the release of volatile substances from oils was tested as well. THP-CSNPs nanocomposites with the composition of 50, 75, 100 or 150 mg of chitosan (CS) and 25, 50, 75, 100 or 200 mg of tripolyphosphate (TPP) at pH 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 6.5 were prepared, and a constant weight of THP of 100 mg. The nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (PXRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The rate of drug release was also tested. The Minitab 18 program was used to analyze the results. The independent variables were the CS, TPP, and pH, while loading efficiency, zeta potential, and particle size were the dependent variables. High-performance liquid chromatography was used to determine the quantity of residual methyl methacrylate monomer leaching after 30 days of immersion in acidic saliva. The surface roughness (Ra) before and after incubation was recorded using a non-contact optical profilometer. The monomer leaching and the surface roughness of the tested materials depended on the pH value of the saliva. The conventional denture framework material exhibited the highest and lowest leaching rates at pH=4.5 and pH=3.5, respectively, regardless of the treatment method. Among the CAD/CAM processed materials, the 3D-printed material showed the highest and lowest leaching at pH=5.5 and pH=3.5, respectively. Starch was used asa water-insoluble binder for coating fabrics. Bentonite nanoparticles were obtained by repeated hydration,decantation and evaporation of the water dispersion. The bentonite particle size was determinedby the XRD method using the Debye-Scherrer equation. The diffraction of the laser beam was used todetermine particles size distribution. The addition of bentonite nanoclay significantly improved tensilestrength (26-61% and 99–118% in the warp and weft direction, respectively) and tear strength (4‒13%and 5–24% in the wrap and weft direction, respectively) of coated fabrics. Their abrasion resistancehas also slightly increased. The hardness, flexural strength and diametrical tensile strength of the composite before and after modification were tested. The contact angle, barrier and antimicrobial properties of the obtained composites were investigated. The nanocomposites were characterized by better hydrophilic and barrier properties, as evidenced by, respectively, a smaller contact angle and lower water vapor permeability and water absorption compared to EVA, which can be explained by the formation of hydrogen bonds between EVA and ZnO. In addition, the composites were characterized by greater bactericidal activity against E. coli and S. aureus.
