Accumulated sum of each order of the non-equidistant sequence is given. Then the accumulating method can be applied to estimate parameters of the model built on the non-equidistant sequence. A new formula of the parameter estimation is proposed after introducing this method into the non-equidistant GM(1,1) model. Furthermore, a new forecasting formula is given, which is deduced directly from the defining pose of the model and can take the place of the white response. The analyzing results conclude that good effects are obtained when the accumulating method is applied into the non-equidistant GM(1,1) model and a good forecasting precision of the improved model is achieved.","PeriodicalId":203169,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Conference Anthology","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124826592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Community discovery has great significance for the analysis of information network structure, the understanding of its function, the discovery of its hidden patterns, and the predication of its behavior. In the practical life, people tend to analyze the information network with a heuristic method, that is, analyze the partial structure which meets the specific needs abstracted from the huge amounts of relational data. For this case, a method of community discovery based on seeds expansion is put forward in this paper. The node that should be paid special attention to in the information network is called the seed node, and then nodes with high similarity with the seed node are added through the iterative way. Accepting the idea of clustering algorithm, this method can not only find its community according to the customization node, but also find the outlier nodes of the community. Experiments on the public test set and data set of Sina micro-blog have demonstrated the effectiveness of the method.","PeriodicalId":203169,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Conference Anthology","volume":"9 45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115748802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, a challenge in maintenance decision making is to determine maintenance policy and replacement investment plan under an uncertainty of technology improvement. In each period, we must decide whether to gather additional information on the potential improvement of a new technology, and then chose the appropriate action for the asset (Do Nothing, Maintenance or Replacement). To formulate this scenario, we use a non stationary Markov Decision Process (MDP) model and provide some properties of the optimal policy based on a given set of numerical examples.","PeriodicalId":203169,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Conference Anthology","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122774580","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The user can browse video clips from the system. When a target is identified by the user, the system can automatically track the target across different cameras. There are three main parts in the system. The first part is object segmentation by a Bayesian model. The second part is object tracking. The mean-shift algorithm is used here to track the interested target in the current camera. The third part is cross-camera tracking. When the target is diminishing or moves out of the shooting range of the current camera, the system looks for the target in the neighboring camera. This part is repeated until the target is out of the shooting range of the multi-camera system. When initializing the system, the user can set up the relative positions and shooting angles of the cameras. The developed system is suitable for analyzing video clips from multiple surveillance cameras to track possible crime suspects. Experimental results on three outdoor surveillance cameras are presented and the results show that our approach is useful.","PeriodicalId":203169,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Conference Anthology","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123468355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed algorithm has several novel characteristics. Firstly, Quantum bits are encoded by angle and introduce the constant factor, aiming at enhancing calculated amount. Secondly, a new dynamic rotation angle adjustment strategy is presented to achieve updated chromosome, and individuals directly evolve to the current optimal solution with linear increasing rate, which greatly improve the rate of convergence and the ability of global search. Thirdly, instead of roulette selection mode, Boltzmann selection mechanism is employed for avoiding the local optimal problem. Finally, for the selected offspring's individuals, Hadamard door is proposed to perform mutation operation to sustain stability and diversity of population. The experiment results on three complicated continuous functions show the proposed algorithm is able to find the best solution in very short time and has excellent global search ability comparing to quantum genetic algorithm (QGA) and genetic algorithm (GA).","PeriodicalId":203169,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Conference Anthology","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116989100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We can capture the running form along with the time processing by this system. The system assumes the ideal running form that keeps the stable style. An ideal form is given by an expert. The system detects and represents the difference between learner's form and pre-defined ideal form. In order for that, the system compares the current form with an ideal form that is represented by three-dimensional values. In our system, an ideal running-form is previously defined. The system also presents an advice of improving the running-form for learners.","PeriodicalId":203169,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Conference Anthology","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124859603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
