Curing of the mixtures involves the reaction of epoxide with primary and secondary amines (at temperatures up to 80°C), as far as complete decomposition of the functional groups, which are in short supply, and obeys a second order equation. The epoxypolyester resin is somewhat less active than the epoxydiane resin. The thermal effect of the epoxide-amine reaction is equal to 131 kJ/mole. The Young's modulus and rupture strength of the cross-linked polymers are decreased, and the elongation at break increases with increases in the quantity of epoxyologoether resin in the compositions at a stoichiometric ratio of the functional groups. The value of <em>T</em>g for the cured compositions is decreased from +92 to −5°C when the quantity of Oxiline-5 resin is increased from 0 to 100%; moreover, <em>M</em>c increases from 650–700 to 1100–1200.
