In spite of the fact that industrial activity was stoped for 2-3 years, the effect of pollution are still obvious. The aim of this paper is to make evident some aspects concerning the impact of pollution on the mineralogical composition of the clay fraction (below 2µ) from some soils belonging to dystric cambisol and luvisol type. From the chemical point of view, the effect of pollution is the acidifiation and depletion of bases, reflected by the decrease of values of indices which express soil reaction (pH) and soil exchange properties, especially in the surface horizon. From mineralogical point of view, the acidifiation determines a strong alteration of primary minerals (micas and feldspars) and just of secondary minerals (illite), evolution beeing towards hydroxy interlayered minerals (intergrade) and kaolinite. As result of this alteration the content of kaolinite increases, achiving a double content in the surface horizon of some polluted soils. Sometimes kaolinite becomes the dominant mineral in the clay fraction of some strong polluted soil.","PeriodicalId":202276,"journal":{"name":"Soil Forming Factors and Processes from the Temperate Zone","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128040548","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The initial mineral fund originates from parent material, and the organic fund especially from annual input of organic matter produced by vegetal cover photosynthesis. The well known triad of pedogenetic factors – pedogenetic processes – soil is developed in the new model of the triangle of synergic interaction of the fluxes, processes and factors of soil formation and evolution, presented in the annexed figure. The soil (pedosphere) makes the connection between the cosmos (solar radiations) and the four geospheres of the Earth. The soil is a very complex natural body or, more correctly said, a natural system, containing life which is formed over a long period of time (on a geological scale). Therefore, on the scale of human life, the processes involved in the soil-forming cannot be investigated (with few exceptions). Consequently, considerations on soil genesis are based on observations obtained in territories for areas with different ages, sediments, rocks and bioclimatic conditions and their interpretation (having in view the geological principle of actualism, partially contested by some specialists). Of course, these circumstances have favored many discussions which in time have led to the improvement of the soil-genesis description model. ©2012 Author(s) CC Attribution 3.0 Unsuported License.","PeriodicalId":202276,"journal":{"name":"Soil Forming Factors and Processes from the Temperate Zone","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131044841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results show that Soil Taxonomy does not adequately reflect the variability of soil moisture dynamics during vineyard growing. Then, a proposal for soil moisture regime classification is realised by means of a cluster analysis. This classification is based on determining dry days, as indicated by Soil Taxonomy, in different vine phenological periods, and grouping the cases according to their variability. The soil moisture regime classes, resulting from cluster analysis, show significant differences in soil moisture status in all phenological periods, and therefore present different implications for viticulture, related to potential for vegetative growth, grape production and the grape ripening process.","PeriodicalId":202276,"journal":{"name":"Soil Forming Factors and Processes from the Temperate Zone","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124138743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
