For both softwares, respective transformer models and other necessary simulation steps are introduced. Determination of all input parameters is presented along with the verification of results for single-phase transformer model in DYNAST when compared to measurement data. DYNAST is able to perform simulations by using physical diagrams, which are not standardly used for load flow analysis. However, it can also solve one-phase problems or even three-phase problems with real physical coupling. SimEPS models the load flow problem strictly by the system of equations and uses advanced computational algorithms to obtain highly accurate solutions. Load flow results from both softwares are compared and simulation errors evaluated for selected operational states of rather simple power systems.","PeriodicalId":201464,"journal":{"name":"2017 18th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116730892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Further issues concerned in this paper deal with digital simulation using computer model created using the EMTP — ATP software to evaluate particular process courses that may occur on the power inverter installed in the technological centre. The data summarised in this paper will serve mainly as input details for development of a dynamic model. The data from this digital model will be then compared to the values measured on the real power inverter.","PeriodicalId":201464,"journal":{"name":"2017 18th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125513155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This may lead to increases of charging of insulation materials. The main aim of this paper is to describe the space charge accumulation in insulation material and its effect on local overloading of insulation material. The space charge measurement principles are mentioned in this paper. The finite element method (FEM) models are used for demonstrations of different space charge behavior and its influence on intensity of electric field. The dependence of space charge level or applied voltage level on deformation of electric field distribution is also determined.","PeriodicalId":201464,"journal":{"name":"2017 18th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132319194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For measurements and evaluation of the samples we used the PDC analysis. The measurements were performed in two variants, specifically when individual samples were irradiated and were not irradiated with the external magnetic field. To minimize undesired electromagnetic fields, the measurements were realized in the anechoic EMC chamber. The main objective of this experiment was to determine if the electromagnetic radiation can change properties of magnetic liquid. Used samples of magnetic fluids were with different concentrations of magnetic nanoparticles. In the experiment was generated electromagnetic field, used to charge and discharge streams, of which are indicative of the state of the insulation system. For comparison of the results the samples were analyzed before irradiation with EM field and after irradiation with EM field.","PeriodicalId":201464,"journal":{"name":"2017 18th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132826616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bushing failures, mechanically damaged windings or deterioration of solid insulation may cause unexpected power line cut-offs and financial losses to a company. Faulty operation of the on-load tap changer (OLTC) caused by increased contact resistance, contact misalignment or broken drive mechanism also reduces reliability. In order to minimize risk, data obtained from various diagnostic tools needs to be interpreted to evaluate the technical condition of a particular transformer, as well as generalized to provide systematic information for asset manager. In this paper, condition indexing is used to develop a risk indicator based on the results of electrical measurements for transformer windings and core, bushings and OLTC. Also results from a case study based on data of different transformers installed in the transmission system in Latvia are provided.","PeriodicalId":201464,"journal":{"name":"2017 18th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132020190","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Privatization and market liberalization lead to stressed operating conditions in existing and future power systems. Additionally, the increasing complexity of the power system results in an increased need for information on the actual grid condition and intelligent control methods. Unfortunately, measurement data from each node is not in the distribution level. Introduction of decentralized control methods allows overcoming the limitations associated with centralized control, like failure of main controller. In this paper, a concept of congestion management using a multi-agent system is presented. In this approach, control processes are realized by active power adjustments based on Power Transfer Distribution Factor methodology. Depending on localization of congested line, appropriate agent initiates the whole redispatch procedure.","PeriodicalId":201464,"journal":{"name":"2017 18th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124890900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The train velocity is typically determined from wheelsets velocity. The wheelset velocity is different with the train velocity due to a slip velocity that is needed for a force transmission between wheels and rails. The train velocity measured by this way is the only estimation of the train velocity. If the train velocity is needed for a slip control, the actual velocity has to be known with the smallest possible delay. For the purpose, a novel method based on the unscented Kalman filter is presented. Nonlinearity between the wheel velocity and the train velocity is analytically derived. The simulation results are based on the measured data.","PeriodicalId":201464,"journal":{"name":"2017 18th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127542215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
